what type of mdunit do you have? it's not a MZ-n1 by any chance?
-
& remember not to record in any of the Long Play formats ... SP only
-
it allows you to record from an optical out in digital purity. so you get the cleanest most exact copy of the source as the player is able to provide. take a look through the stickies for advice

i've got one of a similar vintage on my keyring, with a dogtag style chain on a small loop. love it, it's my lucky charm. i'll put a pic in my sig later

umm are the drivers installed? there is a personal audio driver in the connect package but if you trying from a clean install. unplug the md install the drivers reboot left field admittedly plug in md after you're in windows. if you have the speakers on you'll hear a little sound to indicate a new usb device is detected.

also for the english versions of sonicstage without the connect store try here http://www.planetmg.com/NewProd/sony-asia/...e2.3/index.html

i know this is a little off topic but a pair of wifi pci cards could really save you a lot of trouble in the future. running an adhoc wireless network will allow you to keep updated without moving all the hardware around.

must have been skyther's partisanship that threw me. anyhow congratulations to the team here. you guys are more informed - the tboard's main attraction to most is the o/t, i think i only post there out of habit.

i'd report the seller to ebay anyway. it's pricks like that who give it a bad name.

^ actually i have to agree with sefu. for example the hd1 aus RRP is 590 but from bluetin where things are usually cheaper [singapore/japan] it's 789 aus $. you buy local if you wan't to support local business, easier warranty claims & more detailed support [store dependant]. buy import for cheaper prices [not always!] & stuff you can't sorce locally.

i think this is best demonstrated by the mods:mods who use md regularly ratio. not a dig at anyone, more at the limitations & disapointments of supporting a format in the sunset of it's technology.

i use firefox on my laptop & one of mydesktops, ie on my other. firefox is great when it doesn't crash, lose my bookamrks & crap. luckily it's only a 4 meg d/l to reinstall.

Have a Hi-MD question that doesn't need a thread? [part III]

as long as you're using an OS that does plug n play usb devices all you need is the cable -
Have a Hi-MD question that doesn't need a thread? [part III]

both correct -
nh1 is the flagship design & very attractive, however for most the nh900 edges it out on the additional battery option [the nh1 lacks the AA adapter] & price diferential did you look here? http://www.minidisc.org/equipment_browser.html

i'd be going with the himd units such as the nhf-800 because of the bigger capacity discs, uploading of personally recorded tracks, more & better bitrates &c have a look at the himd faq at www.minidisc.org & have a look around the forums for info on this unit. it means ignoring the earlier netmd units & relatime only units & menas spending right up to your budget but i do feel the extra recording options should tip the balance. good luck & keep us informed

what's the computer specs? what's the message? what sort of file?
-
i'm guessing you're in europe? if so [ or if it's euro delivered] then you md is has an output limited to 1.2w per channel there's not much you can do other than either take it back or et used to it.

sonoic stage is free & is the official himd / netmd /nw 'ware www.connect.com www.connect-europe.com
