I don't think that works on the players. Maybe if you play within a group, but if you're playing tracks globally it will repeat even with repeat off.

Mp3 Transfers Okay, But Himd Unit Won't Play It!
streaml1ne replied to storyteller's topic in Software
What sample rate are they at? Lower bitrate mp3's generally use lower sample rates which the player doesn't like. -
The computer had no issues working with Sonic Stage prior doing all these operations on smaller file sets, SS definitely wedged. It's not a slow computer or anything like that, no virii, etc.
-
Reorder your groups in Sonic Stage every once and a while to semi-work around this.

Hi-MD User Manuals, Storage Drive + NH600 Knockoff
streaml1ne replied to Christopher's topic in News
Yea, but MO media doesn't suffer from degradation like dye based formats like CDR/DVD-R. -
You can still select those missing characters, you just can't see which is highlighted at the time. People will just have to pay more attention when they are scrolling past the 10th character on any given line.
-
Yea, that's how I do things now, but I can see this being really annoying for the field recording types.
-
HAHA, I never noticed that. Who needs those characters anyway Yea definitely looks like a bug and a rather stupid one at that.

We ran into a problem at work a few days ago where we had a MD74 come back from the field with about 160 Hi-LP tracks recorded on it that needed to be uploaded and combined. The upload proceeded fine (shocker ), but the combine failed miserably. The progress bar sat at 0% and occasionally blinked a time remaining that never decremented. We waited about half an hour in this state before killing SS3 only to find that on restart it marked about 90 of the tracks black in the library viewer (DRM for them went bye bye). The remaining tracks were intact, but we couldn't play, combine, or whatever the first 90-something. We ultimately had to do a realtime record to get the event back. Long and short of it, large combines might fail miserably. Better to do it in batches of 20-30.

This was a nice thing about the NH1. At least it had the red LED in the record slider that let you know it was actively recording.

You can use the RH10 to create legacy MD's with SP, LP2 or LP4 but only with Sonic Stage. You cannot record live on the unit in the legacy MD modes.

New Sony Manual Users For 2nd Generation
streaml1ne replied to betamaxDATminidisc's topic in Minidisc
Yea, I've been through the entire menu structure on the RH10 and don't see anything about recording in MP3. -
Hopefully it's faster than the player/recorder units.

"high definition" digital amp vs regular digital amp. Honestly, I own both of these and I can't hear a difference between the two.
-
Guess it depends. What do you plan on using it for? Play only, recording only, mix of both? If you're going to record, then day or night?
-
That's because your NH900 doesn't support native mp3 playback so SonicStage has to convert them to ATRAC.

How about this: http://www.audiocubes.com/category/Cases+a...iDisc_Case.html Holds my NH1 nicely.
-
Nope, they're not heavy at all and very comfortable.
-
You can do this. Any recordings made in Hi-MD mode (PCM, Hi-SP, Hi-LP) can be uploaded. Then you can pop in a regular MD (60, 74, 80 min) and transfer those tracks to it in either LP2/4. Works fine.

Give me an hour or so I can post flacs of the same song recorded optically on an NH1 and the RH10. [edit: results] Ok, spectral of Floyd - Time, recorded in Hi-SP on the NH1: [attachmentid=193] And on the RH10, again, in Hi-SP: [attachmentid=194] Both were recorded on the optical out from my Harman AVR with the Denon 2200 playing the CD via optical in. Sync recorded with the CD player stopped then given the track number to play. The OMA sizes were identical. The output clearly is not though. Here are the flacs of each recording as rendered with HiMDRender: http://canopus.syphen.net/hi-md/rh10_vs_nh1/ All you abx people knock your socks off...

It's as simple as opening the battery door and sliding a new battery in. The US RH10 came with NH-14WM. I don't know why everyone is saying it comes with the low capacity battery.

How Do You Transfer A Cd To Hi-md As A .wav File
streaml1ne replied to TommyTunes's topic in Software
You can use Simple Burner to transfer a CD to Hi-MD in PCM OR Sonic Stage 3 will transfer wav files to the Hi-MD as PCM if you've already ripped the CD's to wav files. In the transfer settings you can tell Sonic Stage to transfer tracks as is. When you've got the library and transfer windows open click the settings button in between them. The "transfer track as is" radial button is there. First option I think. -
I like the D66 eggos, which are a step up from the D22. Really nice sound, very comfortable and compact enough to wear on the street without feeling like a complete dweeb. I don't like earbuds and canalphones mostly because they bother my ears after using them for a while, but plenty of people use them for extended periods without problems.
