I just this 19" L90D+ LCD and it's so slick I just had to plug it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824179014 And the Toms Hardware review: http://graphics.tomshardware.com/display/2...215/lcd-01.html This is seriously a wicked LCD. The panel is vibrant and sharp as a tack even through the analog input. It has a very fast refresh, DVD watching was very good on it. As the Toms review said its color reproduction is fantastic. It has input selection so you can connect two PCs, one via analog, one via digital and use a cheap kvm to switch keyboard and mouse to the second PC. It's excellent right out of the box, I haven't even tried to do any calibration yet. Very very pleased.

Now does anyone have the first 7? Google isn't turning up links to offsite downloads and MB isn't hosting them anymore apparently. edit: Found a link: http://www.sexy-admin.de/modules.php?op=mo...download&sid=10 Complete with torrents.

Yea, but you're not getting 200-400 images on a roll of Kodachrome 96khz wave recordings will require a 4GB card for any decent amount of recording time. Definitely an expensive proposition.

DRM on recordings made on the Hi-MD could be the result of the current generation recorders. They don't apparently have a concept of DRM-less operation. As long as you can upload a recording over and over on different computers without limits who needs a DRM-less OMA on your local system? Just trade MD's
-
This is excellent news!! Lifting the upload limit will definitely help their sales. edit: And I just tested this with an analog line-in recording on my RH10. The track is labeled as having an unlimited transfer count!! Yay Sony!

Found the problem, and it's pretty strange. SS 3.2 gives me the copyright error only when I try converting a file from within a remote desktop session. On the local computer it converts fine. Odd. 3.1 converted and transferred files through terminal services/remote desktop just fine.
-
You guys are converting to these oddball bitrates directly from CD? SS refuses to convert a local wav ripped from CD to anything since I upgraded to 3.2. Doesn't sound good since all my CD's are ripped to Monkeys Audio and I import wavs as needed... Anyone have any luck importing a wav file and converting or transferring to MD?

The only time I buy single CDs is if there's an additional rare song on it. Otherwise I'll wait for a sale and buy the entire CD. Buying one song at a time makes no sense to me, nor does buying a compressed piece of crap from iTunes or the like.

A simple headphone amp (cmoy, etc.) is enough to bring a reasonable RH10 volume (~20 of 30) to 'line' level. I use one when connecting it to my stereo. I do the same with my NH1, even though it has a line out mode I find it's just not quite the same level as you'd get from a CD player line level or whatnot. You can build one yourself or buy them completed off Ebay for $50 or less., search for cmoy.

Did you take into account any endianess issues (if any) when comparing PCM on the computer vs what you see on the Hi-MD?
-
If there were unit specific encryption/reencryption going on wouldn't that break taking one HiMD and playing it in another unit?
-
I wonder if there's something here to at least allow resetting the upload count on recordings.

Real Upload Speed From Pc To Hi-md Is Only 5,44x

The 40X download speed is based on using 48kbps Atrac3plus, not PCM. -
That's the point of the RH10. If they put a better LCD on the 910 why would anyone bother buying the 10.
-
I've noticed the display being semi-unreadable only in direct sunlight and at certain angles. Nothing a hand blocking the sun can't help, in other daylight conditions I don't have trouble reading the display.

The US model comes with a 1gig disc. datavis.com has the RH10 for $240. The screen is the big attractor on the RH10 and I think it's worth the extra money alone. You'll never need a backlit remote again (unless you prefer them) and it's perfectly readable even when dimmed from just about any angle.

Sounds like he's got a passphrase on an ssl certificate There are ways around having to manually enter the passphrase.

Jimmy Eat World: - Clarity - Jimmy Eat World - Static Prevails

If you need to record in standard MD mode from optical/mic/line-in source then you need to get the NH900. The 910 can only transfer to standard MD mode from within Sonic Stage.
-
Try gemm.com perhaps? I love that place. For hard to find items it usually works like a charm.
-
How much was that?
-
Battery life on the NH1 is more than acceptible for playback. I get a solid 16-18 hours of play with LP2 on a 1G disc. For that price the NH1 is hard to beat.
-
If you're ever making alot of edits to files you record I wouldn't ignore it. Stopping between edits will ensure they're committed to disc before you move on to the next edit. It's probably a safer way of doing things than batching a whole bunch of edits then committing them.

ROFL! Could this be factional within Sony?
