If you can demonstrate you will use the Mic and Line in a lot then the HiMD makes sense. Though you could record those records direct on to a PC just as easily. The sound quality doesn't hold up if you are going to buy a unit without a HD amp. Though personally I think the HD amp is overrated. The inconvience of SonicStage. batteries and low capacity/disk swapping is a disadvantage to many people. If you are recording the HiMD makes sense, if not then its down to what the individual finds convient which is highly subjective.

Tell me more about that enclosure. Looks interesting.

I have the PMX100's. I find them a bit too bassy myself. I think the bass drowns the midrange, and generally dominates the sound. It would be interesting to compare them with the PMX60's and KSC 55's.

RH1 in London! EDIT: there are some black units available!... got one!

They have one in Dublin Sony. But its very expensive. €400 I think. -
Do you really think it makes any difference?

I just copy them and reimport them. But if you any DRM on you files (protection) you'd be better using the backup tool.

Try it on its highest setting and see how it looks. The lowest settings will be noiser. Not that I know much about it. -
I meant no having a group button. For that price I'd snap one up, even just to use for putting stuff on and off disks. The only 710 I see in Ireland are €200. Thats in Argos.

Perhaps the ISO settings are wrong? I compared to some of my pics on a 3.2 Nikon 3700, which is a couple of years old now, and I would say your pic is a little bit noiser than mine. Experiment with ther setting, perhaps some of the other modes are less noisy. -
I think of it as a huge rip off...

Are you kidding me. Theres no Group button?

I'm a bit distracted at the momement but I don't understand your point. If you plug one a device with a Li-ions into AC, like my Sony Laptop, or My Panasonic PCDP the device will use the battery constantly and constantly recharge it. Which will quickly kill the battery. Of course if you make batteries it makes perfect sense to have the device configured this way. But You'll have just as many returns with people saying the battery died after two months. The RH1 might not use the battery when on AC. I dunno. With my devices I don't use them on AC, only charge them on AC. The only problem with this is that when you have grab the device and go its generally not fully charged, unless you remembered to charge it earlier. So you often need to bring a charger with you. I find the short earphones too short, and the long earphones with the remote too long. While you can use a wrap or elastic band to wind up the excess, its quite ungainly looking. Though I do use an band on my own remotes cable. Since the devices themselves are quite small, I prefer one with out a remote myself. But everyones different and we've had that "debate" on this forum before. RP-JE50's - I find they come out too easily too. I don't use them when I'm moving any more. I thing a Y cable might be better for these type of ear phones, like the Senn CX300's or Creative 630's.

Wheres the group button?

I find theres too much bass with the PMX100 it drowns the mids out. Which is why I prefer the MX500's. You hear more detail in the mids. IMO of course.
-
Transferring to NET MD the best quality you get is LP2. If you are happy with that then just get the Net MD.
-
I have the Panasonic RP-JE50 and don't really enjoy them. I have PMX100's and find them a little bassier than I'd ideally like. How do the KC55 compare? was thinking of getting a pair of them myself. Most of the time I just use MX500's.

I went back to the defaults, after I reinstalled SS.

Like to see a pictorial of the U2. I have a 80GB WD Passport. Very handy more space would be nice. What price the 120GB.

I had a portable CD Panasonic CT700 on holiday a few years back, and left it on the AC charger listening to speakers. It killed the internal batteries in a few hours.

Didn't know there was a specific size...

AFAIK, A bookshelf fits on a shelf whereas a deck doesn't. its too big. A micro hi-fi component System is IMO a bit smaller than a bookshelf. Don't you like the system in this thread the Onkyo X-B8?

Wish I could help, but I've never had any trouble with SS. Did you try over on http://www.atraclife.com/

There should have a charging off on/off switch devices like this, and laptops etc. I have a dirt cheapo portable CD that has this simple feature.

batfastad - you are so right.
