  1. I've just got a k750i. Only has a 64mb card in it at the moment. I don't like the earphones, and I thought it would sound terrible but a 320kps track sounded ok. Took forever to copy it on though. Thats one reason I wouldn't use it all the time. Theres a few people on Head Fi who use mobiles. It was suggested that I get the 3.5mm handfree accessory and use my own earphones. I thought I might use when I go for walk at lunch time. I didn't buy the phone specifically for MP3 though. Once funds allow I'll probably get a Samsung YP-Z5A 4GB or similar. Its just easier.
  2. Best place to ask questions here. Loads of very helpful people.

    Hi-MD

No because for MOST people(not the people here obviously) the iPod is better player. Sony have put too little effort in developing or promoting the format.
  4. I think most people would pay the extra to get a decent speed. HiMD is too slow for regular data transfers.
  5. I note, no ones mentioning the ergonomics of the controls...
  6. I thought the RH10 has a HD digital amp too?
  7. I love the look of the RH1 and some of the features like USB2, USB charging. But the ergonomics of the player aspects put me off. When I think about the features in terms of ergonomics, without a remote that I like. I realise that the MZ-DH10P comes very close. Scroll wheel Seperate menu button (no long hold) Seperate display button (ignoring slideshow) ause/play combined button seperate group +/- buttons Descent build. Not plasticiky ( I assume) Any thoughts? I was wondering of those that have them and a recorder unit aswell. Do you find you use the MZ-DH10P as a player more often, about the same or less? How is recharging on this unit?
  8. I'd say its a terrible price. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller...;Q=&ci=8578
  9. Ok WAV from CD = 35,618kb ATRAC 064kb from CD back to WAV = 35,631kb ATRAC 352kb from CD back to WAV = 35,631kb WAVE from Lossless 352kb = 35,551kb WAVE from Lossless 064kb = 35,551kb Conclusion that the WAV from any lossless is the same. Though different from Original WAV. That said the results maybe misleading, as SS maybe (very likely) padding the file for some reason. I don't know enough about who it creates the WAV file. It would be interesting to compare the waveforms. Maybe someone could do that.
  10. On a quick test a single track ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Atrac Lossless 064k = 23,713 kb Atrac Lossless 352k = 27,338 kb No files in the optimized folder. Conclusion that Atrac Lossless itself contains the lossy file. I'll generate a Wav from each and see if theres a difference.
  11. Didn't realise that. Hadn't tried with my (just bought) K750i. In addition I just bought a used set of Mission 760 Speakers.
  12. Yeah fair point K. my earphones are budget, PMX100's and MX500's the different is lost on me! You are talking about the optimised folder. Why does this exist if the lossless also contains a lossy verions? Must test this myself. I'll experiment a bit and see what happens.
  13. When you convert from ATRAC Lossless to WAV, are you certain its using the lossless part? There was a bug with this in converting to other lossy ATRAC bitrates. Has that been fixed?
  14. Would have thought a SonyCD/MP3 could play your ATRAC.
  15. I acutall meant favorite tunes, especially classical stuff. But it depends entirely on the piece and the quality of the recording. Some are ok, some are simply nicer in a higher bitrate. My current fav is Violin Sonata Op. 5 No. 12 - Corelli - Jefferson in Paris soundtrack .
  16. The best drives are when you do them just for the sake of the drive, and not to get from A to B.
  17. I actually think SP is slightly better. But the difference is so slight its not worth the hassle. 352 is too big IMO unless for classical and other favorites tunes.
  18. The NHF800 is in europe too. Expensive where I've seen it.
  19. Actually they are out of stock. They probably only had one or two. No idea which one. If I find any more I'll let you know. Annoys me when they adverts so little stock like that.
  20. MZNH700 no question. But I'll be surprised if its that.
  21. Its not a proper web shop. But its a big chain here in Ireland. I'll check it out and see what it is. Maybe I could post it to you. Postage even registered wouldn't be that much.
