Agree. I would like to see Hi-MD discs along the line of the Bit-Clubs or HO series. Did anyone see the TDK Flower LE edition discs? Bland10000 was kind enought to get some for me. Similar to the HO design in green and orange.

You will need a source with some kind of output. Nothing fancy. You can use the line out on your computer sound card. You will also need a 1/8" stereo cable. Should not cost more than $5. You connect one end to the line-out on your sond card and the other to the line-in on your MD unit (the white jack on the N505). Press record on your MD unit and then play something on the computer. I don't know if the N505 has rec level meters but if it does youe should see them register sound. Stop the recording then see if you have a good disc by playing it back. If you get the blank disc message again, your recording block is hosed or dirty. You can use the MD cleaning disc to clean it (check eBay, they are pretty cheap there). Then try the whole process again. If you are lucky it will work. If not, you at least have a player to go with the new recorder you will have to buy.

Yeah. I had Jay Polaski from the other board make me one. I still want to attempt to make one myself. They are cool little devices.

That method is risky. A usb bus is not designed to deliver the amperage needed to recharge a unit. You are risking burning out the USB port or motherboard and possible damage to your unit.

ES stands for "Elevated Standard". Although I do not subscribe to the notion that ES discs "sound" better than regular MD's, they do seem to have a sturdier casing.

It is bulky. I would consider it a desktop deck.

Sounds like the recording block is dead. To make sure, try and record something from the line in. If you get a blank disc, it is definitly the block. On the other hand it just may be dirty. A MD cleaning disc might help in this case.

I am not really sure, but maybe it is the actual volume that the original CD is recorded at. I beleive there is a function to normalize the volume between tracks in SS. This would help to equalize the volume between the tracks so you do not notice the difference as much.

I have used the Microsoft movie editor and a product buy ULEAD software. I cannot remember the name since it has been so long since I tried. I don't want to dtract from this thread so if you have any suggestions please PM me. Thanks!

Why do I always forget about that app? Maybe because I have never used it. I may have to get it one of these days. I actually enjoy the "Audacity" way of doing things. Yes I am strange.
-
I have wanted to do this with a few home video's I have. I have an SP recorded disc of all the audio then mixed it with the video. I could never get the timing right though.
-
You have legacy recorded MD's. There is no other way to upload but the "Audacity" way. *EDIT* I use "legacy" loosly as you have a NetMD recorder.

What I am saying is that if externals are so different what is to say that the internals would not be different in order to save money. It makes sense not to put in expensive parts in a budget model that you are making very little in profit anyway.

Just the fact that one is metal and the other plastic suggests a difference in build quality.

I have received that error before but trying to download on my NH600D. It was solved with a re-install of SS.

Good communication and fast shipping. Some minor kinks in the transaction but were of no consequense. Recommended. Thanks for the blanks!

I do not beleive so. Just don't try to charge them with the player.

Check eBay too. they show up for cheap from time to time.

When I first started in MDLP I used LP4. THat habbit died quickly when I tried LP2. Now most of my stuff is in SP or Hi-LP, with an ocassional LP2 disc here and there.

Does Anyone Know How To Erase A Protected Md?
KrazyIvan replied to sidhu58's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Are you sure the write protect tab is disabled? -
Not having enough hard drive space can be the culprit. SS needs lots of space to spread out its temporary files.
-
Post your system specs too.
-
Are you sure the CD is not copy protected or majorly scratched. You could also upgrade to SS 3.2
