hmm, maybe the person that sold it to you knew of the problems and "failed" to tell you on purpose in order to sell his unit?
-
my guess sony is betting against hdd, and probably going for high capacity flash, retake control of the market by being an innovator.
-
the walkman logo in the top corner is not the real actual walkman logo as sony uses, fake.
-
I don't think there is any method of removing it without taking off the case.

well the 8 gig is sold out, the others were as well, but are back in stock now. I am curious to how many units of hte older A3000 and A1000 sony moved in canada.
-
one its used, so 300 euros is a no no next, i doubt battery life is 40 hrs, maybe original or you are including a new battery. next, hard drive could die any day, and no warrenty, so not worth that much. still good luck, you can try ebay, more collectors on there.

Hey hey. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience dealing with sony, their products and extended warranty? specifically in north america or better yet in canada? as well more specifically, with mp3 players or audio/video equipment. the sony dude told me, if the product breaks, just bring it in, no questions asked we will give you a new one and if that model is not available, you will get the new model. true or false?

weird didn't notice this at first but there are a whole lot of accessories for hte players. usb charger cradle charger/connection port hard protective plastic case (clear) black and white leather cases black silicone case carrying clip (plastic) in car charger via WM port cradle speaker system (200 bucks yikes) 2 types of carryng straps also bluetooth adapter prices here http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/P...th=46881n100363

not bad price, but only for people living in the UK. at a 162 pounds, this comes out to $366 canadian which is sadly a rip off when the 8 gig player, in 3 different colours can be bought here starting on the 18th for 299 plus taxes, which is around 132 pounds. plus the warrenty here is covered, not sure how an international warrenty would work. plus with shipping its not even worth it, the nano here is 299 and if you want to sell to canada I would seriously recommend lowering your price.

Yes i am stuge.
-
the older A700 series prices on the site are still the same as you can see.
-
Well its on the sonystyle website 8 gig is 299, same as nano, and 4 gig is 229 and 2 gig is 169. 3 colours, pink, white and black. more details here http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/C...ationPath=46881 probably going to get hte 8 gig in black or white.

yup saw many cheap ones last week at the store, 100 bucks off lol and I thought it was a joke but asked and indeed prices were real. probably move out the inventory for the new A800.

hmm I would make a visit to the doctor, this shouldn't happen with eardrums when listening to music. have you tried different headphones like the larger ones that go on the ears not inside? if you have and the problem is the same, I recommend talking to a doctor.
-
hmm it should see it, wierd, try another USB port, that should fix it, if it does not reset the player. I generally never have this problem. but try the other usb port idea.
-
thank you.
-
so does anyone know what the outside is made out of? metal or plastic?
-
lol now sure what you guys are doing, but screensaver off, 15 sec display, EQ on to custom 1, and volume at 12-14 battery life easily lasts me 8-10 hours
-
320 mp3 encoded using lame.
-
zisone, I know many girls that have no knowledge about compression or quality lol, although it depends on the girl thanks for the links of the reviews, does it say anything about the material the device is made out of? hmm normal hold button like on the older minidiscs, good move sony.
-
you need a reality check, vinyl only sounds better when listening through a turntable. a 320 mp3 copy of vinyl compared to 320 cd-sourced mp3 does not sound better. How do i know? I know a lot of house music djs and they have told me that a digital copy of a vinyl rip comes no where near the cd sourced 320 mp3, as well the beats per minute on vinyl sourced mp3 is not constant and quite difficult to mix with. 320 mp3 is comparable to wav, most people can't tell the difference in blind tests. I don't use atrac, its pointless when I buy all my music in mp3 anways. compression will always exist, sony does not support wavs on their a series unless you convert to atrac lossless but i've compared atrac lossless on my mp3 player to 320 mp3 and there is NO difference.

DSP, the glossy finish is all bells and whistles on the older A series, sure it looks great and is more or less scratch poor, unless you use a knife, but it had too many flaws. improper fitting to the body dust under the cover did actually scratch although it was bearable sqeaked useless to look at outdoors or in any sunny conditions cell phones are good for music if you don't care about quality, but I do. I tend to buy my music in cd and 320 format off websites and like to transfer it to my mp3 on that quality, I've yet to listen to a cell phone, even sony ones that come close to the A series for sound quality. Sasha no album is 100kb, unless you are referring to a photo of the album cover. people just bash and don't give a product a chance, unless you have held it in your hand and listend to it, you have no right to say it's a bad product. no matter what reasoning you use.
-
although I agree, I tend to listen to the same style of music for all my songs so no need for many differnet EQ settings, plus most my songs have good bass and treble anyways.
-
I don't live in Japan. Jet Black, Pearl Pink and Snow White are the colour options in Canada for 8 gig model, so either white or black. we can always ask silva bokis about the materials of the player.
-
uhm who said the unit is plastic? I've not seen any places that said it is plastic and from what I can tell, the body of the player is the same as what the A1000 is made from, ie the rear and sides are identical materials and since the front is same as rear, then I venture to guess its all metal. as for remotes, this is person dependent and majority of users don't use remotes. Only reason I used the remote for my minidisc is because the LCD on the unit was not backlit and impossible to read at night, so that is why the remote was provided. the A1xxx series had a remote jack for a simple remote and even though older remotes worked with them, not all were were fully functional. I am sure sony has a reason for no remote, it probably did not sell well on the A1xxx series, I never saw one at the local sony store, and even asked, they said only the site carried it. I'll probably will be replacing my A1000 with this since I want a high capacity flash player and the price is identical to the nano here, which I will never consider since i've used one before and listened to it and it was average. seeing as the headphones that come with this are great, the value for money here is no brainer. not sure which colour though, either blue, black or white, need to see them in person.
