  1. i hook my turntable to a DJ mixer which has a phono input,, and take it's audio out into my MD decks.. that's good for me.. when i DJ'd;; the audio quality was great.. i also can take that audio out (optical) from the MD-Deck and route it to the PC's optical in if i wish to use Sonic Stage to take out the pops;; but if a vinyl is that bad;; i don't even bother to record it.. you can buy a cheap DJ mixer at Radio Shack;; and hey,, i even think that i saw one at the Guitar Center that had an Optical out!! but don't quote me on that.. you can also JUST buy a Phono to analog box which would take the Turntable in and have an analog line out without the mixer;; don't know what they call them,, never had one..
  2. i have 9 Panasonic DVD recorders and they use DVD-RAMs;; i understand that these DVD-RAMS are great for storing video and AUDIO;; and should last a long long time.. so,, i started saving my important MUSIC and videos on them.. and they are easy to store and keep tract of.. they would be a bit pricey;; like 5 for $13.00;; but to me it is worth it.. when they go on sale,, i get a few boxes..
  3. i (rayzray) have successfully replaced my use for MD's with DVD's and CD's;; i have over 800 standard MD's with songs on them.. (and another 150 blank ones) but,, since i have sooooo many MD decks;; i will leave that music on the standard MD's. someday, i will start the long haul of transferring all that music to the PC/external storage; but, maybe something better in storage will come out. do yous think there will be a better storage medium in the future? thanks Sony soooo much for your support!!
  4. just a quick warning;; but;; most of the receivers i've seen with Optical out were limited;; that is;; like,, maybe ONLY the CD in can go THRU to the Optical output;; but not other signals.. i wasn't sure if the FM stations could;; but look into EXACTLY what comes out of that Optical out.. IMO;; i wouldn't do it the way you want to.. maybe i'm right;; maybe i'm wrong;; or maybe you should just be cautious..
  5. my killer version of "Mr Roboto" by Styx (7 min long) i made;; (for one of my piano students). i am soooo sweakin good!!

    I'm back at it

[quote name='A440' ....They come with six different kinds of earplugs. Be sure to try them all, because for me, one (large gray sleeve) was far better than the rest. Boost the bass just a little when you get the best fit, and you'll be amazed at the sound that was in your MD all along. ....
  8. i LOVE my (rayzray's) Minisry DVD .... i am listening to Weird Al Yankovic's "This is the Life" from Dare to be Stupid" CD*over and over and over and over*
  9. i just recently bought a pair of JVC inner ear buds for a spare; the price was right. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ETBYHK/ref=pd_cp_e_title/105-7889977-5297206) i (rayzray) must say i am impressed with them and their (5-24,000) frequency range. they sound AS good as or even bettah than my Sonly equivalents (sp) and my Panasonic ones too. i gots me a blue/white pair; they also have PINK (whick stink in colour IMO) and i have just bought a white pair for a present/presant/prezint ??SP??. just a rant to show-off them; this message may self destruct in 6 days. don't say i didn't warn yous.
  10. listening to "Hombre Religioso" (Religious Man) by Mr Loco on the Nacho Libre Soundtrack; i've been ripped off; you can hear the "POPS" on the CD where they lifted/stole the song off a "Vinyl"; i feel so violated*! it's still a great song; it's like taking a pill and feeling the pill is not working. *[edit]
  11. yeah too bad about Towers;; altought i've only been in da Boston one ,, once.. bought "Love" CD by Beatles;; i think i reviewed it somewheres; it's the greatest; and, i LOVE all my Flaming Lips trips; one is still in my regular playlist!
  12. HBD Raintheory;; may your BD be filled with un-rain and fun:: although my (rayzray'zz) theory of rain is a good raindance that's usually successful to get out of mowing da lawn..
  13. analogue "rules"; digital "sucks"; i like colour in my music. right now; i am listening to Family Guy - Volume Three
  14. Elvis Costello, Billy Joe Armstrong, Fiona Apple, and Death Cab for Cutie altogether singing: "(What's so funny bout) Peace Love and Understanding"
  15. just got finish listening to The Beatles' newest album: 'Love'; i got just the CD and not the deluxe cd/dvd set, it has to be the MOST energetic "Re-Mix" of all times, bar none; it is absolutely my favorite re-mix EVER in my 63 years of screaming and singing and listening.! i FINALLY got to the end after three nites of legal ownership *kept falling asleep towards da end* (26 tracks) hell i didn't wait to see if it had a "hidden trk"!
  16. Happy BD to all and to all a goodnight *as i flight da bite*
  17. listening to my latest catch: Vh1's "woodstock 69" concert/ documentary. i've never seen this version; it GREAT! like where did this come from? i am up to Crosby Stills & Nash; recording from da DVD-RAM to my "Pre-Master" it sooooooooo interesting; i remember in '69, i had a chance to go there; i turned it down to (Play my Gigs) instead. my friends went. i could kick myseld a millions times for not going. LATE NEXT DAY EDIT]] well, today is am listening to Peter Gabriel's Headliner act on Vh-1; and in response to the mods closing "stuge's" thread; Peter Gabriel is my favorite singer and bella flec and the flecktones are tied with the Blue Man Group for best band.
  18. listening to a CD-r (copy of mp3's i think), given to me by an "X" piano student; it's Led Zeppelin (Live) somewheres but don't know the name of the CD or concert; here's the track list. 1. whole lotta love 2. immigrant song 3. black dog 4. dazed and confused 5. what is and what should never be 6. how many more times 7. whole lotta love 8. communication breakwown 9. bring it on home....
  19. i always thought teachers could make "Copies" for their class use; as in, i copy sheet music JUST to teach lessons?! [Late edit]actually, i put some songs on my Hi-MD900 and play them into my students' CD/Radio players/Karokee Machines; and, use the speed controd with no pitch change so they can follw easily.. i can make loops and such to teach;; makes a good impression for the Hi-MD's. *i really hat using only ONE punctuation*
  20. prohibition didn't stop the Americans from "drinking"; and my grandfather with his distillery in da chicken barn.
  21. i just captured Neil Young live on Vh1/tv (BBC Crown Jewel Concert); pretty good; i have no idea what he is singing about; maybe himself.
  22. wouldn't you hear your hands holding the unit; like, motion noise in the recording? it just doesn't look good enough for me. maybe next year.
  23. i stumbled across this researching "Fair Use".. from (http://copywrite.wordpress.com/tag/copyright/fair-use/) Consumer Electronics Association President and CEO Gary Shapiro critical of RIAA 08/11/2006 Posted by D. Keith Henning in DRM, Fair Use, Dark Content. add a comment LinkCEA: RIAA refuses to cooperate, carries out “thinly veiled attack” on fair use (via Ars Technica) CEA President Gary Shapiro said, “Although the RIAA continues to try to muddy the waters, this much remains clear: the music industry no longer agrees that a consumer’s right to make a first generation copy of a song includes the right to play it back when and how the consumer wishes.” Shapiro is referring to the fact that the RIAA would like to block the ability to record unencumbered digital music from either digital radio stations or satellite services such as XM or Sirius. Current law allows for personal recordings of both video and music, and even the television broadcast flag under discussion in Congress allows for private recording on a basic level. ((any one want to comment; is this relavent to us?))
  24. The Beatle's Love Sampler Mix with:: (to come out soon) 01 Strawberry Fields Forever (Love Version) 02 Otcopus's Garden (Love Version) 03 Lady Madonna (Love Version) 04 While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Love Version)
  25. wow, how did we miss this one! nice find, does the protective cover "Move/slide"? it's actouall in the "Same place" in reguards to the two rounded edges. (if you flip a sandard MD over and see where it is). there just isn't any slider on the front, which wudda made the labels more squarish and better for collecting. IMO. that disc would be world mucho on a forum like this!!!! and, the label/picture wudda been up-side-down from the present ones; like you would be able to see the pic the right way as you are loading the disc into the unit.
