mercury_in_flames replied to mercury_in_flames's topic in The Loft
err feel free to report my thread to a moderator. Just because I want to play with a font doesnt mean I am seeking cracks, serials and other things that are a more realisitic definition of warez. -

cheers man, i;d used that one before, but because the font i want was designed for a series of commercials, they want you to pay for it, even if you arent going to use it outside of your own frickin home. -
One- Bono FT Mary J Blige at first I didnt really like this song at all just because of other music I had heard her sing, (not really into rnb), but I actually quite like this song. Also listening to; Be without you- Mary J Blige

recording md to md
mercury_in_flames replied to perfumedgarden's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
are there optical outputs on the back of the decks? If so you could easily record from one deck to another. If they are recorded optically from a cd you wont be able to record optically off the md, only analogue. -
Lol, ive changed my mind now. I originally bought this dvd writer to burn Dual Layer media at 8x. The brand I use are not compatible with this speed so the writer doesnt fullfill my original requirement. Ive just figured out how to make my external dvd writer burn at 4x properly which means I only have to wait 25 mins for the dvd to write instead of 45 mins. Im going to keep the internal burner as I'll never get the money I paid for it, and I can always keep it for a new computer and worst case scenario i end up getting a hd dvd/blu ray drive and use the this BenQ 1650 as a player only. no biggie. If anyone is desperate for this model, I'll sell it for the price i mentioned. Otherwise I'll just hang onto it

Well folks I am selling my benQ 1650 dvd writer for 30 pounds including shipping. PM me if you;re interested.

Because I have a laptop, and a PCIMCIA card for a laptop is not worth the money, in any case I am using my PCIMCIA slot for the wireless modem. -
what sort of specs/brand etc bookshelf are you going to go for?

DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) - A false dawn and a big con
mercury_in_flames replied to 1kyle's topic in The Loft
If there was a way to have a computer on but with only the system processes etc to stream music from it to a wireless receiver (e.g roku sound bridge etc), without the need for a wireless router , just the need for a wireless pci card and the receiver , then that would be ideal. The whole reason why those receiver things are annoying is the fact that you have to have the computer left on. -

hah, just as well I didnt get this http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.act...HFC+Radio+Tuner In any case, I don;t find radio here in the uk that great. If they made a wireless thing to connect a computer to a hifi system with a built in hard disk then i'd have that. -
continuous ink system? Just because a. I don;t know how to set it up, and b. I dont have the space and c, i don;t print that much, i might do 10 cd's, 10 photos and 10 pages of text in a month. Maybe next month I;ll check it out. I guess I also dont like the idea of having the print lid open with the CIS hanging out the side etc.
-
just got a 6 pack for the printer: I HATE it when i run out of ink right when i have to print something for a deadline, i don;t get deadlines too often where i need to print alot but when i do and i run out of ink , i;m pretty mad.

LOL messy? Are you implying that that is what the rest of us are? imho, I can honestly say if you only if you burn dvd, cd's, or are use a lap top, in my case, it makes keeping a desk tidy rather hard, as I am always swapping usb cables with the 2 ports. hey man where's the white speakers??? -
i doubt its repairable, and more to the point if it is, is it worth it to repair. It would cost you half the price of a new md unit to repair your md most likely.

My 3-year-old MD recorder - a has-been already?
mercury_in_flames replied to kopfhorer's topic in Minidisc
I aggree with you, i took my sony micro system which was RRP worth 285 pounds back and forth to a repair centre ('sony authorised repair place' , not an official sony repair place) FOUR times for a dodgy transistor which kept frying the line out. I then had to take it back a fifth time to get the repair person to fix the front flip panel because he hadnt assembled it properly, i suppose you could say it was the repair persons fault, but if the device hadnt cocked up in the first place, i wouldve been fine. ahh well. -
