  1. you can download sony image converted at atrac life, http://www.atraclife.com/downloads/files.php?cat=2 you basicly need to rip a movie using dvd decrypter which is at http://www.doom9.org/ in the download section, edit the options to not split the dvd movie when ripping, and then convert with sony image converter. I wasnt able to get the audio and video to sync properly when converting my videos to mpeg4.
  2. ive tried converting videos and playing them back etc on my k700i, while im sure the w900 is substancially better at playing videos, i still wouldnt watch videos on a phone. it's just personal choice, but i'd rather have a dedicated portable video player. Have you converted any dvd's yet? Have you had any issues with the syncing of audio and video?
  3. at no1 in the uk top 40, crazy- gnarles barkley. Am liking it quite a bit.
  4. can you fast forward videos with that phone? otherwise the idea of movies on the w900 is useless im afraid. as for screen size, if you can get fatigued watching a movie on a psp, im pretty sure your eyes would get even more strained watching on a mobile phone.
  5. O.T but, IMHO, I cant see how hdtv and blu ray/hd tv are going to survive as a movie industry format. I mean yeah, dvd caught on, the price of movies did go up at least 1.5, but this is different. To watch all these new formats you'd need a plasma/lcd tv and those cost at least 500 pounds for a measly 19 inch. Yes, many people have splurged on the Sony Bravia televisions, but do people really have in 1500 pounds to buy, a new hdtv, a blu ray disc movie player? Im talking about your average consumer here. :/
  6. It's also the fact that you have to go the the hassle of doing it. Thats the reason why I didnt get a psp in the first place. I was going to use it as a pmp, but after converting a few dvds and seeing that it took ages and that on some the audio and video were out of sync I stopped trying. It's also the fact that a dvd takes about 800mb or so. That means that you need to buy a 2gb card just to watch 2 movies. If I was on a long haul flight, I'd want to be able to have a choice of 4 movies. Sure they;re coming out with a 4gb card but the price of that :/ Yeah I know its a games console first and foremost, but why make it sound so great when you tell people it can play videos if all it can play is mpeg4. bah.
  7. LOL^^, I sort of aggree on this, Instead of using their brains and making a UMD a re-writable format like md, and letting users make their own UMD discs with their own content, converted movies, music files, photos etc, they had to go and try and rip the world off by making users buy memory sticks, and movies that were essentially useless for anything other than watching when you are away from a standalone dvd player, laptop etc. pffft.
  8. Yeah I aggree about the thumb buttons on the mouse, This is what my other mouse looks like: I like it for when I'm browsing the internet, it works to go back and forth with web pages, but im sure you can set it to do other things too. I was just looking at the Logitech website today and they've come out with a mac version with you guessed it, a BETTER mouse!! Ah well. Honestly though, it's a shame you cant set the S510 to connect to a different mouse, instead of having to have a second receiver plugged in, they;re both logitech mice after all .
  9. got bad gas from eating cole slaw. meh.
  10. Price: £36 pounds off Ebuyer.com Well where to start? Lets start off with the not so great. If you are expecting the 'thinness' of this keyboard to mean its going to have nice super thin keys like those on a laptop keyboard then think again, it doesn't. While they keys aren't anywhere near as clunky as some keyboards, and the keys are very quiet, they aren't laptop keys. Weight; this keyboard is very light so technically you should be able to put it on your lap and use it, but, and here's the but, because this is a full size keyboard with the numeric pad on the far right, when you are typing with only the letters as we normally tend to do, you have to place the keyboard further to your right to actually have the thing in the middle of your lap and properly balanced. I bought this because I had originally wanted to be able to sit on my bed, with my laptop on my side table and me writing on the wireless keyboard, well I have given up, mostly just because I cant be straining your neck to the side all the time while I type. The mouse, well the mouse the mouse the mouse the mouse.... Well, ha-ha, I also have a Logitech Cordless Click! mouse which I can safely say is brilliant, its almost moulded so that your whole hand can rest its entire weight on the mouse and the tendons in your hand are not strained at all. Well the mouse that comes with this thing is a joke. Its shaped like a brick and isn't wide enough for an adult hand, so your pinkie finger and thumb are grasping the mouse to the extent that when you move your index finger up to use the scroll wheel , your tendons strain and well its not very comfortable. If you are using this for its intended purpose, 'to have something that looks nice on your desktop but is useless'(I'm joking), its purpose; to use at a desktop computer, then you should have no problem in using your own mouse. If you aren't using the mouse wheel to scroll down pages for extended (10 mins) periods of time, then you should be fine. Features; Well all the shortcuts and things are pretty fun, but I was never really into media keyboards any way. If you want to click the 'next track' button , then that should be fine for most. If you really are a keyboard person, then it does have 4 custom programmable hot-keys and quite a few others with functions ranging from rotating a picture to opening ms word. The other good thing is that there is an F key mode and a hot-key mode. In hot key mode you can program all the hot keys individually to your own needs. Build Quality: Well the palm rest feels a little bit cheaply made, but I suppose that's what you get for having a light keyboard. Along the side of the keyboard, and on the wireless transmitter, is some very shiny black plastic. I would STRONGLY advise you do not remove the protective plastic on it as wiping dust off with anything other than a special glasses cleaning cloth will leave tin scratches (only visible when tilted to the sun). My first S510 had a problem with the battery LED light. Be aware that the battery light on the mouse ONLY comes on when you replace both batteries and is not on constantly. Unless my replacement S510 is also faulty which I doubt. In any case, you are bound to know if your mouse has run out of battery power because it won't be working. Overall, for the price you are paying you'd be wise to check out Microsoft's offerings before investing, but if you are keen on Logitech and the design of this keyboard then I can safely say that it does the job. out of 100 I'd give the whole package a 75. 10 knocked off for easily scratched finish on the side of keyboard, 10 knocked off for poor mouse and 5 knocked off for build quality not being as solid as it could be.
  11. HAHAHAHA!! I did exactly the same thing ray I still have the telephoto lense i bought even though I dont use it anymore now that I went and bought a telephoto zoom lense.
  12. If the cord is the same as the EX81's then I will most definetly NOT be buying these. The cord of the EX81's was like rubber, and i mean the kind you use to rub out pencil on paper, not at all decent quality. I still have mine after a year but ive had to use loads of sello tape to keep the wires together.
  13. Yeah, funny how entertaining it is hearing a woman say bollocks..j/k.
  14. From what ive hear ever since I started with md, five years ago, there isnt any HUGE difference in the disc thats inside. What matters alot is how susseptable the case is to dust. A lot of people have the sony ES series discs. In geneneral, go for TDK, Sony, and you should be absolutely fine.
  15. 'bollocks', how very british lol
  16. The fact that EVERY time i have something thats a bit rich, like coleslaw, spicy chicken wings, those supermarket pizza's, microwave dinners, I have stomache problems!! Its really starting to bug me , should I see a doctor?
  17. bah, waste of time really. I;'d just record my soccer matches and stuff to one of those hard disk recoreders via the scart output on the skybox. Stuff whether its legal, its a fricking soccer game Sure its illegal for movies, but whats the difference between taping a movie back in the old days off the tv (dont tell you never did that??) onto vhs, to recording the thing to an hdd and watching it off that>? What? just because vhs tapes would be paper weights within 5 months? meh. *edit* I;m not asking for a flame war here, I just dont see whats changed, apart from there being loads of people actually wanting to seel what they record etc. I think there should be a clause in the legality of it all that lets you record onto dvd-rw discs as these give pretty poor quality writes any way and write quality tends to degrade over a few months depending on dye. Or if they really want to go 'sony' on us, make the dvd recorded by a dvd/hdd drive only playable on that drive, there you go.
  18. to tell you the honest truth, i would get one of the same quality with 4 ports instead, At least then if it doesnt work so well on your computer you havent spent as much money. I bought a belkin 4 port one for 25 pounds or about 50 dollars, and ive pretty much shoved it into the junk tub in my room, waste of time really. If you really wanted to splurge I would definetly reccomend a PCMCIA Firewire card yummy I wanted one of those to run my Lacie on firewire 800, but the card with firewire 800 was about 130 US dollars over here, not really worth it just to transfer files to and from my already puny laptop hard disk.
  19. yeah its just a usb 4 port thing that has an a/c input, simple.
  20. spose, ive tried using the power adapter that came with my belkin one and the results were still pretty pooish. :/
  21. I thought there was a way to get the optical signal from a cd rom drive- at the back of the drive next to the ide port?
  22. hmm. Thats the thing I hate about buying things off the internet, when something goes wrong it takes so long for the item to be replaced. Not like in a store where you can just take it back with your receipt, show them its not working and voila, you get your replacment. LOL ok, not just voila, but at least you can give it to them, leave it with them and they will take care of the rest. With on line shopping you have to wait a few days or a day or whatever for it to reach them by post.
  23. What was the thing powered by? Don't tell me it was USB interface only
