  1. ive only got 2 md units and my hd5. the md units sit in their stands on the desk and the hd5 is just anywhere i take it out my pocket and set it down. I use a muji md acrylic thing to store my discs.
  2. lol. i read the name and saw -g-(pronounced as the g in guy) -ee-string. just wrap urself in seran wrap with the md to ur chest. not very breathy but hey
  3. my r909 never skipped, i suppose its because as a himd, it has a lot more info to read ey?
  4. hahha, i'd love to see the runner get tangled in wires and fall,, bwahaahha. but as volta says, just strap it to the bar in front of you on the tred mill. just make sure you slow down gradually to the point you dont jerk the headphones out the player when you get off.
  5. lol just dont go dropping it or you'll be sorry haha.
  6. hahaha mmmmm if only you could get the woman in that photo when you purchased a himd
  7. I was tempted to go for the epson snanner that has an auto loading neg scanner that 'eats' up the negs instead of you having to place them on a template. The downside is that the one that i used chopped a little off the original negative.
  8. you're using with a USB hub? LORD no!! Never use usb hubs, unless its for things like bluetooth usb adapters, usb mice, and things that require vertually no speed, lol. I've had my printer which is USB1 speed give me crap when using it with a 4 port Belkin usb hub. Avoid them like the plague. The peripherals i use are printer, external hard disk, memory card reader, bluetooth usb adapter, usb optical mouse, nw-hd5, memory stick, external dvd writer. I only ever have the external dvd writer, external hard disk and the mouse plugged in, all at once. Thankfully both the dvd writer and e.h.d have a firewire and usb port. the hard disk is always on the firewire port. Im using a laptop with 2 usb ports and 1 firewire port. Just my two cents.
  9. Haha, I know how that feels all too well. I used to blow every penny i earned on techy stuff. I;ve taken a break or tried to at least. Since Ive been 'saving' ive got my sister a 512mb usb memory stick for her birthday, and got me a charger for our second digital camera, and recently 1 gig ram for the laptop. Its hella hard to save money. From having 20 pounds left over from a 350pounds a month pay cheque (i'm 18 and work weekends), I have managed to save 850 pounds since january. Not too bad, but if i hadnt spent money on the above things, I would have 200 pounds more. you do this astrophotography with your camera and a telescope?
  10. haha nope. I've got a film camera for one thing, and another I already threw the old filter in the recycling . I only use a polarizing filter sometimes and a skylight filter is on the end of my lense lol all the time. Have used the polarizing filter once when out on a sunny day, and was pretty cool. Only thing is i wont use it much because I always use my compact digital camera for colour photos. I plan to use it when I go on holiday though, not much seaside and such to take pictures of over here in the uk, and as for nice clear blue skies, they are pretty rare at this time of year. The only reason why I would use my film camera is because of the zoom lense I got for it, and obviously if I run out of space on my memory card, or i run out of battery power etc. I find the cost of developing my colour prints to be a bit of a rip-off, when you compare the cost of taking pictures and then just storing the photos on my external hard disk or a dvd+rw. As for infra red shooting, i am pretty much less than an amateur shooter. I've never done infra red before (results a bit too unpredictable for use with a film camera?). I just got the polarizing filter to make my photos of when I go to greece/spain in the summer a bit more like what you see in the tourist brochures haha.
  11. One new 55mm skylight filter as i managed to crack the one I had by cycling around with my camera in my backpack. Was tempted to go for the pro one but couldnt justify it for my purposes. http://www.hoya-online.co.uk/lst124.htm
  12. lol yep, i knew it would do that, hate to say it but...haw haw..*see my avatar* (just playing).
  13. lol, you reinstalled sonic stage just for 5 downloads? What happens when you reinstall the european version? bye bye download rights?
  14. lol if it was me, i'd take it apart with a screwdriver-surgeon style then take a hammer to the poor bugger
  15. The external hard disk can do a read speed of a 4.7 gig dvd movie off the disc at 22x and the internal at 8x. The external does 7200rpm. This just in, I had to reformat my computer because norton had 'an internet script error' which stopped the main 'norton security centre' window not open. I uninstalled, deleted reg keys etc, still nothing. I was up till 4 reinstalling, setting up my wireless again, download updates for windows etc. what a drag.
  16. hmm, i think its safe to say that what you have in you library does play a part. Although having 4 gigs of ram must speed things up a tad lol. Anyone else running Norton internet security here>?? I dont get why mine took 22 seconds initially :/ Oh, I also keep my library on an external hard disk.
  17. oooooh well sorrrryeee lol j/ks, dude why didnt you say that from the start, i didnt understand that was what was meant.
  18. cheers for the votes everyone, keep em coming. LOL, my sister always complains that the desktop computer we have takes years to start up and why is the laptop so much faster. Well, the desktop is a pentium 3 with 256 ram and running windows XP. what does she expect? I have spent 102 pounds on upgrading this laptop to 1 gig ram, and 135 pounds on an external hard disk, and 130 pounds on an external dvd writer. If she had offered to share the cost of a new kick-ass desktop, then i wouldnt leave her sitting with a dog-egg computer lol.
  19. Hey I know people arent likely to time their computer but if eveyone could do this it would be cool just to have the stastistics to see how long the average user has to wait for sonic stage to load Please add you system specs if you could as well as what version of sonic stage you are using. Thanks everyone. To do this, start your computer up from 'turned off' and once started up with no more things starting to load in your task bar, start sonic stage. Mine: I have a built in memory card that shares my on board ram, with it set to 32mb video ram, and 992mb RAM, CPU Pentium 4 m 2,8ghz, and about 1770 tracks in my library, it took me 22 seconds. After I closed S.S i waited a few minutes, then loaded it again, and it took 6 seconds.
