Yes indeed it does. Nice microphone btw, just a little larger than the average tieclip as pointed out.

Don't attempt to use 1GB HiMD disks in your deck. They certainly won't work - unless you get an Onkyo Hi-MD deck that is.
-
Most of my MP3s (not very many) are at 160 so I use that. HiMD at 352k mostly.
-
The method I use would correspond to 3), ie ripping to wav first (using SS). This is so the wav tracks can then be normalised, and converted 'manually' to 352K before finally being transfered on to Hi MD.

Yes, use the backup tool in Sonicstage. Go to Tools-Backup My Library and follow the instructions. It'll probably take a good few hours for a very large library.

Well, I just picked up a brand new RH710 for £35 at Currys yesterday. I don't call that a rip off by any stretch... Get 'em while you can

Are you using the latest version of SB (2.0.05.25150) - you can download it here if not. This seems very stable, but of course it might depend on your system configuration. It's best to use format for wiping a whole disk to get rid of systems files and so on...

Condolences to everyone affected.

Remember, though that the 'hack' was originally used to add 'high level' features that the top models enjoyed to lower end machines (eg. R700 to R900). Even with the RH10 and RH910 the hack was needed to add the basic feature of the Custom equaliser. The only thing the RH1 hack is (supposedly) to increase volume and as it's by such a small amount (probably) it's really not worth it.
-
That pretty much sums it up greg - there was certainly no audible or any other difference on my UK RH1 when I applied the hack. Sony seem to have done the right thing - in trying to keep both the punters and the French Authorities happy...
-
So is this not a problem when uploading to PCM format? If it isn't, ie tracks are made correctly then the value of the RH1 uploading isn't really lost. It would be good if someone could confirm it...

Just bought Derek's almost new (once used) MZ-RH1. Excellent transaction - great communication, deal settled over the phone and goods/payment changed hands in one day. Great seller, and a pleasure to do business with!

Hi. Tne NH-14WM is just a higher capacity version of the NH-10WM (1400mAh instead of 1000maH). Both work fine in the RH910, though the 14WM obviously gives you longer playback/recording times. Most modern remotes work with the RH910, including the famed RM-MC40ELK. I'm sure here someone can furnish you with a more comprehensive list. I just use the supplied stick remote.

The RH710s can indeed take the usual selection of remotes (ie almost any recent one). Personally the piano black RH710 is the better looker...

Maybe they're expecting consignments of RH1's anyday, and have to clear some cabinet space...

Indeed, the remote from the NH800 works with the NH700, at least in the UK/Euro model. I now have 2 Hi-MD's with tuners as I acquired a 'spare' radio remote on ebay. Sony really could have marketed this 'feature' better...

Sonicstage does me fine for occasional music playback on the laptop, as well as for downloading to Hi-MD etc. Currently about 5000 tracks stored in ATRAC3+ @352k. I'm also using a couple of 80GB USB harddrives for storing the raw music files in wav format...

Same here - I can't find any RH1's in London or anywhere else for love nor money. Why don't Sony believe in their format for once and not the negative vibe merchants, and make some more RH1's. Please

It's probably at least 5 years down the line before all my MDs pack up, realistically a lot longer. I'm basically happy with Sony/Sonicstage, so unless things get radically worse or the competition much better the replacement will most likely be a Sony DAP. Although who can tell...

Only certain battery boxes will work with the NH900, I don't know the full list, but basically the one for the MDLP/NetMD generation Sony MZ-R900, N1, N910 and a few others plus of course the one for the NH900 will be fine. Earlier battery cases and those for the second generatuon of Hi-MD (RH10,RH910) won't fit. You'd best check before buying...

AA support would be most important to me. Home deck would come very a close second. Plus NOT losing any of the good features of the RH1 (dynamic normaliser, line out, HD amp...)

Do you have (many) other applications running in the background? If so it's probably best to close down anything unnecessary. The conversion to ATRAC 3 (if needed) is pretty CPU intensive, but all the same LP2 transfers seem to take about as long on my laptop as other transfers, ie. still much faster than realtime.
