  1. Menu - Option - Beep - Off USB won't charge fully - according the the manual it only gives a 'provisional charge', so best get an adapter if you don't have one - and a copy of the manual... Edit: here's the MZ-RH10 pdf manual
  2. Hm, looks like he/she's a regular seller with 100% feedback, so I'd imagine it would be kosher. A lot of store owners/traders come across old stuff lurking at the back of the store room...
  3. Don't forget about the dynamic normalizer feature of the RH1 - no more fiddling around with volume buttons (well not as much). It certainly works quite well on the NW-E005 etc series...
  4. Ing-er-land, Ing-er-land.. etc... England that is
  5. The european output for the RH1 is 4.5mW per channel whereas the standard output is 5mW. You almost certainly won't even need to make a volume hack unless you normally have the volume all the way to the top.
  6. You could try using the built in normaliser. Also increasing the bands on the custom equaliser should help to boost the volume quite a bit. You need to refer to the on line manuial for details. Using some sensitive earphones (eg. Sennheiser MX550) would also help, since Sonys have a quieter headphone output then the ipods.
  7. I had to delete all the tracks from my Vaio Pocket and HD5H before SS4.0 CP would allow any transfers. Not a (huge) problem as all the tracks are in My Library, but a pain all the same. Took a couple of overnight runs to restore all the tracks including bitrate conversions (30GB+)...
  8. I've downloaded the US version of SS3.4 and its fine (so far)...
  9. Also set sound to 'Normal' to avoid getting distortion and other equaliser effects.
  10. You're welcome. If you get a pair of MX550 or whatever, let us know what you think of them...
  11. MX550 are definitely better in many ways, I would say, though it depends on your listening habits. The 500s are brighter, easier to drive being more sensitive, and have lower impedence, and so go quite a bit louder than the 500's. This is quite important with Sony gear, which genrally have quite a weak output strength... The MX500 sound darker and more bassy, though there are probably better earphones out there if you like rock/pop with a lot of bass. The MX550 are more suited to jazz/classical etc, but sound very good with popular music too. Having tried both, the MX550 wins hands down any day..
  12. Welcome on board, hope you enjoy your time here.
  13. It's definitely possible to transfer MP3 directly to the A3000 with Sonicstage 3.4. Not sure about 3,2, its seems not, in any case it would be best to upgrade to 3.4...
  14. The RH10 must have been available in the UK for something like a year, as mine is about that old...
  15. Oh, I don't know, it's been that long since I used 3.2. Probably not if you can't find it... Why not upgrade to 3.4?
  16. 1. You can delete the converted files (leaving the originals) by going to Tools-Options-Advanced Settings-Delete files. 2. Yes, Sonicstage 3.4 supports direct MP3 transfer to your A3000. You need to make the Transfer setting 'As is' before pressing the Transfer button.
  17. Fairly modest, but sounds good: Amp: Sony TA-FE570 Speakers: Eltax Monitor 3
  18. Yes, the JB980 is still hooked up for timed radio recording and that big stereo sound you just don't get from portables.
  19. There's an SP transfer mode button in Sonicstage to click under Transfer mode settings (the icon that looks a little like a black suitcase). Click that and you'll get the pseudo-SP mode that you so desire. Pseudo because it will in fact be LP2 dressed up as SP.
  20. There are Divide and Combine functions under the Edit menu options in Sonicstage. They only work for ATRAC format tracks (not MP3/Wav etc.), and not while the track is playing.
  21. Black is best, definitely (IMO). To answer the question above, thankfully the black version will be coming to the UK.
  22. It's 1A (1000mA). 500mA might work, but the current's a bit on low side.
  23. You have all the standard editing capabilities in Hi-MD recorders as before, including combine and divide. On portables, you use the T-mark button to add or erase track marks (=divide/combine), but that's the same as before. The only restriction is that tracks downloaded by Sonicstage can't be edited, but that doesn't seem like it will be a problem
