Well ..... it IS Glowing !!!!

Yes the R-09 is an mp3 player , read the specs , Zoom is also MP3 compatable , Sanyo plays MP3 PCM ,Ogg Vorbis,WMA , and whatever else iPod is a Fashion accessory , and you are an undereducated blow hard . If you only knew who I am .. ROTF LMAO . but that is ok by me , my knowledge has spoken for itself on these boards and the amount of help I have given ( not Taken) You are going to come on here Flaming , you wont be here long . If you wish to have a discussion well that is a different story . But you need to read up a little IMHO , There are probaly 120 different mp3 players on the market that offer recording via line input direct to mp3 encoding , and you come saying that there arent any otherwise you would dump one of the best recording technologies invented. just Buy a Rolls MX-34 portable Mic Preamp , and any generic MP3 player with a line in and your good to go , if that is what you want . Try not to blow a gasket ok, but go do some research
-
When you get ready to dump it send it to me ok . Mp3 recorders with mic ins already exist , and in good Quality and Quantity . Edirol R-09 Zoom H4 & H2 Sanyo has a New PCM recorder , shirt pocket sized and a bunch of other , lots of accessories for iPod are available now thru Belkin and others for Stereo mic in as well as line in . so no excuses , go ahead dump it , just let me have it when you do

Post a link to their site so we can see it

Wow thats harsh Bob , at present he is spoiled , we can all agree on that , but Those first few , I cant concur , although Manfred Mann is High on My list as well . But I wasnt Blinded By The Light , .... I had my shades on trying to look cool

I live in a Country , " Where the steets have no names" ..... or at least I cant read them Agreed with the airtime , overplayed on the radio . But uncompressed on the Home system , it s always a good listen , I introduced one of my Japanese guitar students to it Yestrday , specifially that song." Bullet the Blue Sky", , I was trying to get across to him how Music is made from Emotion , which is sorely suppressed in Japan . That and they dont have the clas distintions and problems of the US . The Wife came in and described what she saw living in the US , and how that song relates , Section 8 neighbourhoods , Deep South poor neighborhoods , Parts of town you can walk in then turn a corner and your in a dangerous section of town . They dont have that here in Japan . Then when we jammed on the scales I had shown him , I asked him to "Feel " what each note said , I played chords , he played scales , and it kliked , the lights came on , he got a sense of it .......end of lesson he said , "Today ... was VERY good lesson ,, gambarimasu !" And God doesnt think he is Bono , ..... Although the idea of being a Musician isnt far off!

Fair statement , accepted

Joshua Tree is the one that makes a Statement in the most graphic terms , Bullet the Blue Sky , being a direct shot at the problems of Class division , Money going where it isnt needed , and the Struggle of the majority of Americans against a Leading class of eleteists . The problems of Urban America ,Poverty , Addiction etc . So that is Noise to you eh? hmm If it actually says something ,then you don't want to hear it............. interesting

Sparky , you know that all the cool gadjets are in Japan right ? , and the availability of MOST of them are limted in other countries Right? Or altogether different models issued to foriegn markets . Then Same thing happens with food , Spam (Yes that canned wonder of slicable torture) Spam is 6.96 a Can here in Japan , comes in several Flavors. in the US it is 69 cents a can and better quality. The Us will send out "B" grade stuff to certain markets and jack uo the Price , Every country does it , that includes Electronics , My wife Complained CONSTANTLY , EVERY FRIGGIN DAY for 12 years while we lived in the US , I couldnt understand until I came here . There are basically two brands of Sake served in the US , and both of them are BAD , there are probably 2,000 here and the Japanese DO NOT TOLERATE bad Sake , beleive me . Global marketization effects every single market , Including the Computer sector, I could buy the exact same model hard drive that you , but it would be the same in Label only , or Package . The stuff that gets sent around the world , is very carefully targeted to maximise profits , "The stuff that goes here , we'll get it made in China , the stuff that goes there , get that made at the Malyasia plant , and oh for that UK market use the Philipines plant for that , a little better control rates there" You wouldnt believe the crap that gets packaged as "GOOD" and sent out . For someone living in a modern world , you just dont see it very well , I am not Flaming you just making a very valid point that I dont think your considering . Terrible failure rates exist for a reason . and they DO exist . Dos Paras is a discount Computer parts supply here in Japan , and they are setup mostly in Hidden off street , or Alley setups because they are a Foreign supply , so the Japan Economic association doesnt want to much exposure for them . yet they are on of the busiest places around , all the Otaku get their stuff from there , but Joe Blo consumer who doesnt know any better will go to Yodobashi, or Sofmap GigaStore. and endup paying three or four times as much and getting a lesser product . Now Play nice and listen to at least SOME of what others are saying to you

U2 isnt Noise Pollution (at least not the first three albums)

If you are running clustered arrays in a server setting then you are using industrial grade drives , Big difference between that and consumer drives Which are designed to fail , it a Money thing , supply and demand . when it breaks you have to buy a new one , whereas server grade systems have businesses depending on them , A company would get a Bad name very quickly if the Business system started failing all the time . But for consumer stuff to fail , is just good business sense

That statement , actually expresses an appreciation of the marvelous complexity of the human design .

Me 2 . I have had to replace a lot of hard drives , I have yet to replace an MD Hard drives are in constant use , if it is conected to your computer it is in use , They have a Limited Cycle Life , and is usaully stated by the manufacturer what the Cycle life is , MD on the other hand is Not in Constant use , only when you need it , which drastically prolongs the life of the disc. To tout HD as THE storage medium is foolish , new HD 's are being developed that will replace these in use now and the formats will be different , Seagate already has 1 terrabytes that will fit in a standard slot , use 3 platters and a condensed vertical data stacking system , they will be on the market end of this year . Flash drives are coming , organic mediums are being developed , to say that or stick with HD as the medium , is shooting yourself in the foot.

Most car units only play SP mode , I have several freinds here in Japan with car decks , and the cannot play LP Plus the car units seem to be plaqued with problems
-
A step farther , is to put sliding brackets on the wall panel ends to make it modular , Take it apart , put it back when you need it , but they need to be recessed and perfectly cut , othrwise it doesnt work very well.(experience speaking there on that one)

Newbie looking for advice on multi-track recording
Strungup replied to tputland's topic in Live Recording
That does look to fit the bill , 1 - 32 channels recording , All he would need is a Firewire mixer , or Usb Mixer that would recognize seperate channel inputs. good find. -
You can Use the RMC 40 ELK with it . It is compatable wit all Hi MD Welcome to MD community .

The Yokohama area is fine , just Niigata is having a hard time of it , now the heat is bearing down on them , and the old people especially are having a rough go of it . The US Troops sent 200 Airconditioners and generators to run them , as well as the Japanese from all over are now sending food fans , water and other needed things, NTT set up a call in number for Japan residents that they call this number from a home phone and get billed 150 yen for each call the money goes to releif funds ( Inudated with calls ) but they are having to helicopter stuff in , because of the roads .
