I HATE it when i run out of ink right when i have to print something for a deadline, i don;t get deadlines too often where i need to print alot but when i do and i run out of ink , i;m pretty mad.

run out of ink would not be a problem, if you invest on a CIS. which I have already mentioned it b4. like couple pages back. and why won't you invest on a CIS?!?!?! Edited by Kaotic

continuous ink system? Just because a. I don;t know how to set it up, and b. I dont have the space and c, i don;t print that much, i might do 10 cd's, 10 photos and 10 pages of text in a month. Maybe next month I;ll check it out. I guess I also dont like the idea of having the print lid open with the CIS hanging out the side etc.

I just bought a Brand New(with the full 12 month warranty) MZ-NH900

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MEWN:IT

, unfortunately it is the silver version. I would really have preffered to get the black version, it looks so much better. But for just now I will have to do with the silver one ;)

It cost me all of £95, which I think isn't bad for the piece of mind the 12 month warranty gives. I know for £60+ more I could maybe have got a RH10, but my budget is stretched enough as it is (my bank balance is testimony to this) and the NH900 does everything I need it to. I can't wait for it to arrive (I hate the anticipation of waiting for something new). Luckily it is delivered by NEXT-DAY (but that means Tuesday because of bank holidays here in the UK

I had just bought a MZ-N1 off eBay that was listed as in "perfect working order", when I got it it had the infamous Blank Disc error, just my luck. the NH900 should compensate nicely :)

I just received the black version of MZ-RH1 from SonyStyle Japan - just in time for my business trip tomorrow. I shall try and post an extensive pictorial soon. ;)

Wow way to go Ishii. On my side my Onkyo X-B8 bookshelf arrived, but I was not in so DHL will re-deliver tomorrow...

  • 2 weeks later...

Last week I bought this:

and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival.

That looks a pretty stylish headphone amp streaml1ne - did you buy that online?

@danielbb90

The Lam-X1 was a bit too much on the small side for me, especially where the speakers are concerned and it also doesn't have hardly any connection options just a single mini line-in.

is there a warranty on it? how long?

Yep, 2 years parts and labor. If you want impressions on the build and sound quality search for 'gilmore lite' over at headfi. There are plenty of reviews in their amp section as well. Kevin Gilmore, the original designer, is a god to alot of people over there. He also came up with the dynahi and dynalo designs that people rave about. It's a very solid performing amp for a good price IMO.

From what I've read the headphone jacks of AVRs or mini-systems are not driven off the main amp, but usually a dedicated headphone amplifier. Usually these headphone amps are simple and not of high quality. Again this is from what I've seen on head-fi, so someone feel free to jump in here if they disagree. It seems the opinion over there is that a handful of high end stereo AVRs or dedicated speaker amplifiers have a good headphone out section. I plan on level matching (with oscilloscope) and comparing the headphone jack on my Harman AVR, a pocket cmoy, the direct headphone out of my NH1, and the new Gilmore amp once I receive it. I'll post impressions then.

edit: Oh and I didn't buy this for use away from home, though it is still somewhat manageable for transport to work and such.
