  1. Although this is also likely to be incomplete and has some mini cds incorrectly categorised as MiniDiscs this is a much more substantial list of releases. It also includes several releases on recordable MDs some of which came out long after prerecorded discs stopped being manufactured, the most recent I spotted having been released in 2013 which is quite interesting. http://www.discogs.com/search/?format_exact=Minidisc
  2. You are right about the list being incomplete. I have 13 prerecorded MDs, of which 8 are missing from the list.
  3. I was in Camberley, England earlier today and I thought I'd have a quick look around the Sony Centre store as I was walking past. To my surprise, in a glass cabinet there was one 1GB Hi-MD disc. It caught my eye straight away as I haven't seen any of these in any shop for several years. I enquired about it and was very pleased to discover that it was for sale at a retail price that reminded me of the good old days when these discs could easily be purchased on any high street. Sadly they only had one and there is no more stock in any other branch. So after handing the cheery shop assistant the princely sum of £4, I walked out with my disc, a happy man. I just thought I'd share this with you because I never thought I'd see any 1GB discs in a shop again, let alone at such a reasonable price.

Sergio could you PM me your email address and I'll sort it out. Thanks.
  5. It does seem unusual that the Sony chargers mentioned in this thread have no indication of charging. I have not seen such a charger. The Sony gumstick charger I have, which I thought was the most common one, is the BC-9HP2 which has an led to let you know when it's charging and has been 100% reliable for 12 years or more. There is one available on Ebay as I write this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SONY-BATTERY-CHARGER-MODEL-BC-9HP2-for-NH-14WN-NH-9WN-NC-6WM-BATTERIES-/370976132316?pt=UK_Camera_Chargers_Docks&hash=item565fe68cdc

I have a copy of all the images Philippe. I use them as wallpapers on my PS Vita. If you want them, let me know the best way to get them to you. Do you use Drop Box? Alternatively I can post them here if more people want to view them, although I'm not sure what the situation with copyright would be.
  7. Of course, I didn't think of that. I don't often use LP4 so I've never run into this problem before. Sadly I can't use Hi-MD mode as the disc is for my sister's kids and their Walkmans are not compatible so I'll just have to leave the tracks un-named. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
  8. My CHC-CL5MD bookshelf system wil transfer the CD Text to MD 99% of the time, but some original CDs do for some reason have the titles protected so that they will not transfer (possibly what is causing the text protect error you are experiencing).
  9. I have been having this issue for some time now and although I can live with it I was wondering if anyone knows of a solution. The problem occurs when I am importing folders into SonicStage. I can import one or two folders individually but when I try and import a third, SoniStage always says that it has encountered a problem and has to close. At which point the software closes and I have to re-open it and try and import the third folder again. The other problem I've been having is that when I import an MP3 compilation album and all the tracks are tagged as being by different artists, SonicStage seperates them all into individual one track albums by each artist rather than keeping them together under the one album title. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Many thanks.
  10. I am currently trying to transfer a large compilation of Christmas music to an 80 minute disc in LP4. For some reason none of the track titles get transfered beyond track 45. I have tried this using an MDS-NT1 and an MZ-RH10 with the same results. Does anyone have any idea why this might be?
  11. Fantastic! I'm glad that worked out for you. I absolutely love my RH10, (especially after unlocking sp recording functionality).
  12. Yeah, I noticed that last week sadly
  13. Looks like it's in great condition and $50 doesn't sound like a bad price to me. If I could get there, I'd have it. http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-iPods-mp3-headphones-other-Sony-Minidisc-MP3-Player-Recorder-w-Several-Minidiscs-50-OBO-W0QQAdIdZ543310892
  14. Those are definitely Maxell labels Jim. In my experience those grey and white striped labels are generally some of the most difficult to remove, although I do rarely come across sets of seemingly identical ones that can be removed very easily. I presume these easy to peel stickers come from a different factory.
  15. It's unexpected but very welcome to see a manufacturer releasing a new model of blank disc in 2013. I know Sony still make their Premium discs and I think HHB in England still produce their Professional MD80 but these are both models that have been around for several years. Since we have now seen that not all media companies have given up on MiniDisc, maybe a company such as Victor may consider releasing a last extra special series of disc designs as a swan song for the format (not that I want a swan song you understand but I know blank production can't last forever).
  16. I have a GMD-16RB. The sound quality on the unit is pretty good but the battery life is poor (about 4 hours playback from one AA battery). The main downside though, is that the unit itself has no controls on it except for the hold switch. All the other buttons are on the remote only meaning that if the remote becomes lost or faulty, the whole player is rendered useless unless a new remote can be found (good luck with that!).
  17. Judging by pictures of the 780's remote, it looks like it was supplied with the RM-D29M which is the same remote that came with my MDS-JE530. As far as I'm aware, this remote was used on many Sony decks. It is a slimmer, cut down remote that replaced the RM-D7M (which has a full keyboard rather than the three chacters per button mobile phone style setup of the later model) supplied with many earlier decks. I also have one of the earlier remotes from my MDS-JE510 and that operates the newer deck without any problems so you should find that most functions will be controllable on your deck with any given Sony MD deck remote.
  18. I just came across this advert, posted today form Boss Sound in Toronto, Canada stating that they have stocks of various brand new Sony MD Walkman and discs. Might be worth checking out for anyone in Canada. I don't know whether they ship overseas but their phone number is there for anyone interested. http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-electronics-BRAND-NEW-sony-minidisc-players-for-sale-W0QQAdIdZ520471031
  19. I've just tested an RM-MC33L with my MZ-RH10 and it pauses a recording and adjusts the recording level without any problems so I would assume it will for the RH1 as well. That would mean the RM-MC33EL should also work as it's the same but with a backlight for the display.
  20. I'm very glad to hear that your MD gear avoided the hammer treatment. That would have been sacrilege! Welcome to the site!!
  21. I don't have any of that particular Bit Club I'm afraid. If you want to sell it or have any other trades in mind, let me know.
  22. Are there any things in particular you are after as a trade?
  23. I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you:) I hadn't actually noticed that the charging stand was translucent. I have a lovely N710 that I bought for £1, looks brand new, is boxed and with all the accessories from a car boot sale but sadly struggles to play for some reason. I'm planning on getting it fixed soon. The LED you added looks good:)
  24. Surely the N510 won't fit on the charging stand for the N710 so you shouldn't be able to charge a non-rechargeable battery by accident on the stand, although you may be able to do so using the N510's charger as I know you can with the MZ-R700 but you do have to physically push the charge (stop) button so it won't start charging automatically. The N710 should know how charged up the battery is so it shouldn't give it a full charge every time and obviously only works on rechargeable gumstick batteries alleviating any risk of falsely charging a disposable battery. My MZ-NH1 charges the charges the battery each time it is placed on it's stand but stops charging very quickly if the battery is full and this certainly doesn't seem to do any damage to the battery. I would imagine the N710 will behave in a similar manner.
