  1. I know this suggestion thread is pointless, but I would have liked SonicStage to have an option to normalize all types of audio files before transfering to NetMD or Hi-MD unit.
  2. MZ-NH1 vs MZ-RH1, names almost identical. How are the units alike or different?
  3. So in short, are you saying that my old CD recorder deck is probably producing the most identical signal via optical output?
  4. I have the TEAC RW-CD22. I finished recording and I'm now listening to "Hard Candy" in good old ATRAC SP on my NetMD MZ-DN430 with the BASS and TREBLE turned all the way up and the music sounds amazing! Even with the cheapy white Sony earphones. Although my M200 has ATRAC Type-R and does an excellent job of recording in ATRAC SP, my $25 NetMD unit continues to put it to shame in terms of BASS!!!!
  5. I just figured out something neat about my CD player/recorder deck. It has "DIGITAL RECORDING LEVEL" buttons on it, and although you can not increase the original volume of any CD, you can lower the volume. This volume changing DOES affect optical output volume. I'm recording Madonna's "Hard Candy" CD to my MZ-M200 via optical cable in ATRAC SP, and I lowerd the volume of the CD by 2dB. This is a loud CD (98 - 99dB according to MP3Gain), and lowering the volume will eliminate any distortion when it's compressed to ATRAC SP.
  6. Thanks. It looks like this: I think all his albums are great, not so much "Blood on the Dance Floor" because it only has a few original songs and the rest are just mixes of older songs.
  7. Is there a difference in the way Pre-recorded MDs are made vs just taking a CD and doing an optical recording to Minidisc in ATRAC SP? For example, would the sound quality be the same between a pre-recorded Forest Gump Soundtrack MD vs Forest Gump CD sountrack that is recorded to MD via optical output in ATRAC SP. I can't help but think that the factory studios have much better recording equipment, and so a pre-recorded MDs may sound more identical to the original source.
  8. MJ has more good music than just the Thriller album. I really want his "Invincible" album on MD. It is rare and hard to find.
  9. In excellent condition and 100% working. 10. My PS3 gets the CD information from the internet. I was just wondering if this information is also transferred through optical output. It's all 0s and 1s, right?
  11. It really depends on what unit you're using. I have the MZ-M200/RH1 and NetMD DN430, with volume level from 0 to 30, and at about 15 - 17, it gets pretty loud. My old Sharp MD unit, wasn't as loud, had to boost it up to 20 - 22.
  12. Just curious as to why you think he's wrong? Also, my Playstation 3 has Dynamic Normalizer (DN), which would be great if I could use it during optical output recordings, instead of changing the recording levels manually for each song, but I'm guessing the DN does not affect optical output. I will experiment with this. Another question, if my Playstation 3 picks up the CD information (artist, album name, and track names), will this information be transferred through optical cable?
  13. Another question, I have 3 devices with optical output: CD player, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. My question is, which would be the best one (best sound quality) to use for optical recordings. The CD player is old, from 2000-2001, Xbox 360 is from 2008 and Playstation 3 is 2009 model. Or are all optical output signals the same?
  14. Does the SS 4.3 full installer really work or is it a beta version? Does it include Simple Burner?
  15. I've been trying to download the full installer for SS 4.0 in the download section, but I get a page error. Anyone going to fix that? I really want to download a full installer of SS 4.0 or later.
  16. I know there are different version of ATRAC SP, but what version is on the RH1/M200? Is it the best one? (Type-R or 24-bit).
  17. Poor taste? He's got a binder clip on the RH1. Why would anyone do that? I wouldn't even do that to an iPod.
  18. What on earth did you do to that poor RH1? You should be banned for that. Bob? Stephen?
  19. Is there a real difference between the 24-bit ATRAC that Sharp MD units tend to have versus Sony's Type-R ATRAC, or are they the same?
  20. That's right. I'm interested in any genuine pre-recorded Michael Jackson MDs that are out there. Looking for the MD albums: - Off the wall - Thriller - BAD - Dangerous - HIStory 2-disc set - Blood on the dance floor - Invincible Really curious to see what you guys have. Thanks.
  21. Are you saying that no NetMD has optical input or bass function?
  22. It doesn't say it has Megabass, but it sounds like it. I need to know the exact NetMD unit model that has all the features I described above. Thanks.
