No bluecrab, not the MXD-D4000, but some kind of MXD-DH4000
-
I complete bluecrab's answer : the 4X capatibility will create a SP mode MD but much probably with a LP2 sound quality. If you have the place, you can buy a MDLP type S unit or at least a type R unit (SP only), with an optical out if you are lucky.
-
phamcu has modified one of his W1 to avoid entering in the service mode during the copy process.
-
The W1 and the professional MD replicators from Denon and Sony do it digitally with no compression. The Denon seem to be the only one in MDLP mode. Mortal fans as I am must record in real time.

philippeb is the one who can help you I think http://forums.sonyinsider.com/user/51093-philippeb/

Never tried an optical connection between two MD decks. Interesting. You could try also a modern external DAC instead.

security restrictions that can be get around once again

Yes you use Sonic stage and Windows XP without any internet connection. Another computer can be use to tag your tracks before importing them into SS for a Net-MD transfer.

Selling MZ-NH900 (+3 Hi-MD discs and MC38EL) on ebay.
PhilippeC replied to warepdmind0's topic in Classifieds
With the 3 Hi-MD discs, the price is good. And the color rather rare. -
There is no problem with SS setup with Windows 7 64bit (Ultimate SS & MD drivers are available on this forum). I am with 8.1 64bit. You just need to use a Windows "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" session during drivers installation and restart Windows. This is the trick you can use with Windows 7 if you have a problem.

Even if I am like a hunt dog in front of phamcu's JA50ES, I retained myself to buy it because I would rather keep that money-for-dreams-only to buy an Einstein "The Amp" amplificator which is even rarest than the JA50ES. .

Your unicorns came by 3 in phamcu's shop three years ago And phamcu maybe still have his black JA50ES for 415 $ su_su1972 yahoo.com https://www.5giay.vn/am-thanh-audio/3360572-ban-dau-md-desk-thu-phat-hoac-lam-da-va-cac-dich-vu-lien-quan-toi-minidisc.html

For Windows (find similar settings for your Mac) : a very good internal or external audio sound card, real time digital recording, Wasapi/ Asio DSP audio output, plugins like Wincue or Post-track Silence to create gaps (except live recordng), Windows settings no sound and control by the application (player), eventually the Replaygain plugin, players like Winamp or foobar 2000... and a good MD recorder (type R or type S generations, Hi-MD).

The road to obscurity.... the BBC reports on earlier devices
PhilippeC replied to freddyjollo's topic in Minidisc
Except that you need a LIP-4WM inside which hold the charge. I have an external USB charger too. -

I have a dream, a MZ-RH1 with an external AA (or better AAA) battery case so I can use it forever. -
MiniDisc music transferring woes!
PhilippeC replied to garetjax27's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
I had the Platinium version of your souncard in my previous computer, but no way to setup it again correctly with Windows 8.1 on my new computer. I decided to use the (very good) onboard soundcard. The only way to do the job digitaly is to use a Sony MZ-RH1, The ultimate portable MD Sony unit. Only the RH1 cam upload your music to your PC : http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-RH1.html But you can also use the line-out analog connection. Maybe somebody here, who have the RH1, can transfer your music on his own PC and send it back to you if you are not living too far. So, where are you living ? -
Minidisc boi, where are you living exactly ? In France (Reims), jonathanpotato can help you.

What does that mean, "meh why not" ?

phamcu (member here) in Vietnam could also do the job https://www.5giay.vn/am-thanh-audio/3360572-ban-dau-md-desk-thu-phat-hoac-lam-da-va-cac-dich-vu-lien-quan-toi-minidisc.html but not for free (not expensive too, I would say 10-20$ + shiping). Repairing and selling MD and DAT decks is a second job for him.
