ES are all heavily built and SP only, except JA333ES (MDLP)

Very good idea Jimma, if I got one sample, I can try to print it in 3D in Vietnam.

Braidkoff, you got all that Sony stuff ? I can understand why there is place ONLY for only Sony. Sony products can be very exclusive. I advise you to find a good Sony deck, even a basic* one but able to be used as a DAC. Preferably a 24bit-48kHz DAC unit but 20bit is good too. Holy Grall is QS920/930/940/980 and all the ES serie. And for your MD disc & case design, please go here : (*) standard SP mode, type R : so if you get more Sony MD units, all your MD will be readable.

Too much cables for me, I like a headphone / earphone direct connection

And hang you high and short after for breaking our heart with false joy !

hundreds... So MZ-RH1 is a must have investment for you as it can upload your own recordings Buy it and sell (easily) it after the work done
-
just download your music (torrent files) and copy it again on MDs cannot do that however with your field recordings.

Copyright jonathanpotato http://www.jonathandupre.fr/articles/articles.php?id=55&cat=17#p4 1st, a good Atrac and 2nd a good DAC search type-R or type-S in the minidisc.org browser decks : JBQS and JBES are the best. But if a good DAC is your only concern, a recent and cheap 24bit-192kHz DAC will be much better, or even a 16bit-48kHz professional sound card
-
Vietnam is more secluded than your country for the MD format. Finding "recent" units (> 2000) is extremely rare; a lot of good-old-SP decks though.
-
I would say "type R" (SP) / "type S" (MDLP) decks, check the minidisc.org browser with these words. Sony QS 920 and +, Sony ES : you need money (100-150$ or more). Sony JE quality is acceptable and easier to find . Any deck is good (for SP listening) if it is cheap...
-
My future choices will be to get more decks. SP only with type R or MDLP type S decks. Mobile units : - to save your money, SP +/- MDLP units (Hi-MD are more expensive) - I prefer a SP than a MDLP recording (comptability, better quality) - old and solid units for listening with AA side battery if you can - one or two more recent units with type R for recording SP, or MDLP type S if you record and and listen to MDLP. - a large stock of MD blanks (more than 100) + storage
-
But why did you do "a recording last night in SP mode on 1GB disc via the RH1" ? You must use Hi-MD modes only with a 1Gb disc. And this kind of disc can only only be read with a Hi-MD unit. Edit : stephen is faster tham me and I assume also you wanted to say Hi-SP

A lot of other members have tried at some point to repair themselves their units. members who have professional skills : - jim.hoggarth in UK - jonathanpotato in France - phamcu in Vietnam Who else ?

phamcu direct contact su_su1972 yahoo.com

phamcu confirmed months ago that E can be used instead of B. If you need more technical datas, ask him directly (PM).

Maybe the minjack to minijack + jack adaptator is cheaper for a portable MD. But those 2 x [RCA to XLR} are good too for decks. 2 sources : plug your CD player to your JB980 using the optical cable and use the MD deck has a DAC.
