http://uma.vn/default/small-storage/small-storage-boxes-and-crates/brick-set-4.html Fitted for a lot of MD without case or cartridge, idealy to be used by two (one for the cover, add eventually hinges) There are some shelves at uma.vn (Loka model) that could be very interesting http://uma.vn/default/living-room/coffee-tables-and-side-tables-1.html?p=3 Lead 2 & Lead 3 are the best for classic MD with cases Lead 4 fit 1Gb cartridge... More details here : http://www.hachihachi.com.vn/San-pham/VPP-Luu-niem-Do-choi/Dung-cu-van-phong The box which look like a basket fit 1Gb cartridges (but this is not beautiful, except the white "Windy" model) MD in my home (change place all the time ) Wooden boxes came from Hachi-Hachi also, only 9 MD with case per section. They have small hinges and can be hanged on a wall. All other plastic boxes are Lead 2 & 3 transparent. Also one whisky bottle case and one MD shelve. A fisherman closed box for some of my MD units.

I have a dozen of Hi-MD 1Gb, half is 1st black generation so I can check for a box for your cartridge (how much of them do you have). hachi hachi http://www.hachihachi.com.vn/San-pham/VPP-Luu-niem-Do-choi/Ho-so Each plastic box cost 1,8 to 3 euros. I have already two dozen of their boxes (MD with case box type, MD without case box type) both plastic and wood Uma http://uma.vn/default/small-storage/small-storage-boxes-and-crates.html Beautiful wooden boxes (brick set type), each 3,5 to 5,5 euros Today I will bring a camera and a 1Gb MD disc with his cartridge to Uma (1 km) and hachi hachi (500 m)... Maybe good time to take some pictures of my MD storage solution.

Perhaps we CAN 't af FORD 3D printing price...
-
But all this could be a problem only with huge tracks collection. When you have time (like me), I am glad to spend that time only to make new MDs.
-
Only a sad thing : Sonic Stage refuse to convert WMA lossless in ATRAC lossless. Only WAV files can be converted.
-
Rock'n'Roll, I have converted more than 2.000 tracks today with Audio Transcoder (12 hours to do the work, 10 tracks each time). Tomorrow I will use MP3tag which I know very well before importing tracks in Sonic Stage. And perhaps I will convert all tacks in Atrac Lossless and make a backup on a DVD before transfer to MDs. Just for the Verve Jazz Club collection (150 CDs)... Thanks to kalkie

Jim Hoggarth in UK can fix your unit for cheap money (considering the price of a second hand unit)

Advise on the best recording MD device needed. Thanks!
PhilippeC replied to Lute's topic in Live Recording
If you do your own field recordings with the unit, I advise you to choose a Hi-MD for these reasons 1) quality of recording (even lossless with PCM) 2) lengh of the recording if you get Hi-MD discs (but classic MD formatted in Hi-MD mode offer also a rather long lengh of recording if you don't choose the lossless quality) 3) possibilty of upload of your own recordings even in WAV format : <<Self-Recording Upload Function Hi-MD Walkman recorders offer two-way communication from the PC to device and from the device back to the PC. With the mic in feature5 you can make a self-recording on the device and transfer content back to the PC.>> technical short extract of the MZ-RH900. Nota : Sony has stated that only analog-source recordings created on Hi-MD equipment will be eligible for upload. The Sony MZ-RH1/M200(for Mac) is the best (and most expensive) but others Hi-MD recordings units allow also the upload of your own field recordings. See the minidisc.org browser for units and the FAQ. Price range : Rh1 > 200 to 800US$ (!), others recording Hi-MD units 50 to 250US$, Hi-MD blank discs much more than 10US$ nowadays (just format classic MDs in Hi-MD mode to save money. -
Happy you find this software back again

kalkie, I've tried your solution. Flac or WAV if files have useful names for editing. I had prepared already a WAV copy of a great folder to be transfered so I choose this great folder to convert WAV files to WMA lossless MP3tag (which I know very well) to edit WMA lossless files to edit and save the tracks with the right following : 1) name : artist - title for the name of the track (without %track% number) 2) artist : V.A. or artist of the track 3) album Then everything is going fine during Sonic Stage files import and the transfer work great without editing work (groups + tracks name) The only problem is that I need to use limited softwares like Easy CD-DA Extractor or Audio Transcoder to convert FLAC or WAV to WMA lossless. dBpoweramp Batch Converter which is free cannot do that work for thousands of files at once like I did to convert FLAC to WAV. I've tried AVS Audio Converter also, it can convert tons of files at once butit added an audio logo to each track if it is not activated. I have downloaded Sound Forge Pro 10.0 for a trial but I did not test it (look impressive and hard to use).

Thanks to the both of you.

Is there a way to transfer Flac files to MDs without losing the time to - convert to WAV = losing metadatas - edit the MD with SS after the transfer and copy-paste all tracks name...
