If you cannot join him with a Sony Insider PM, I have his personnal email. Tell that is me who advise you to contact him.

Now that I though, maybe having or not the 2 seconds tracks, they appear depending on the unit I use, not with all of them.
-
If you want I can give you WizardofOz's direct contact

WizardofOz (who has left us) got one that he bought in France. This is an expensive unit. You can buy a high-end vintage amplificator or loudspeakers for the same price ! Or a JA333ES deck : http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Sony-MDS-JA333ES-MiniDisc-Recorder-/281118572242?pt=DE_TV_Video_Audio_MD_Player_Recorder&hash=item4173f8fed2

I got myself those 2 seconds tracks after recording, but never mind
-
The only problem you will have - will be to delete all these 2 seconds tracks after - will be also to tag yourself all your tracks so use SS with a Net-Md portable unit and copy from the menu the album and the tracks names

"homebrew" mp3-to-minidisc recording station
PhilippeC replied to Arr-Nine-Hundred's topic in Minidisc
I have a Creative Platinum Xi-Fi sound card right now on my PC. This "minidisc" plugin is exactly here to do the same work than the foobar2000 "post-track silence" and Winamp "wincue" plugins, just adding silence between tracks during real time recording. I prefer the foobar2000 facilities and preferences, that is why I never use the Creative tracks player. But I was very pround just to know that Creative did that thing for MD owners. -
A list to keep as a reference ! I would add all the MD boomboxes !
-
Like said stephen, a good choice would be a MDLP type S with Net-MD unit, both a deck and a portable unit. Cheapest portable units are the the MZ-R*** and MZ-N*** series. Cheapest decks are from the MDS-JE*** and some the MDS-JB*** series. Or with not, a Hi-MD portable unit, MZ-NH*** and MZ-RH*** series. The browser of minidisc.org is your friend, as eBay (just search for minidisc + eBay world wide to have a good idea of the prices).

to insert gaps where there are not, you must use the plugin "post-track silence" with foobar2000 , "wincue" with Winamp -
I dream about a Sony MZ-EH1 in the same color !

Windows can be configured not to cause indue sound effects. But others programs like ^£%*µ* Skype must be shut up too ! But as you do not use Windows for a real time recording, it is not anymore your problem. But you can still try the plugins for the listening of your Flac files with foobar. This is exactly what I do, using a Creative Platinium Xi-Fi sound card and 24bit-96kHz Flac tracks (digital Chesky & Linn records, Vinyl rips). -

Look like a gass factory what you have done. Did you use the post-track silence plugin with foobar with your Windows emulator to add a 2 seconds gap between tracks ? And you could also get audiophile audio output plugins like Kernel Streaming and Asio4all with foobar. -
Nice come back to the good sound

Hi Sergio, Jim has one pair of black RH1 lids as spare, so maybe he could arrange that. I will see all the work he done in July, like your MD blanks ! Both units will work as a charm I hope. The grey lids have scratches, as you can see again on this pictures. With the fur, the unit was looking great to me.
-
I also have a grey RH1, completely checked by Jim Hoggarth, as my NH900. I asked Jim to keep them, I will send him my black RH1 too soon.

SONY 74 MIN RECORDABLE MINI DISCS - LOT OF 40 - 4 COLORS NEW IN ORIGINAL RACKS http://www.ebay.fr/itm/SONY-74-MIN-RECORDABLE-MINI-DISCS-LOT-OF-40-4-COLORS-NEW-IN-ORIGINAL-RACKS-/281106908177?pt=US_MiniDiscs&hash=item4173470411

Just make some new tests. Change the disk, change the order of machines... My pronostic (1) recording (dirty lens) (2) playback (dirty lens) (3) disc

I got one with some Hi-MD problems but look at the price 62,50€ + shipping 15€ !!! The device does not work perfectly !! He is still able to read and record standard MD but has some problems in the shuffle and recording in Hi-MD. It makes a noise and can no longerfind easily the location on disk. Aesthetically, the unit has only very slight traces of use. It comes with all original accessories: SONY RM-MC38EL - Backlit LCD remote control, earphones, optical cable, rechargeable batteryLIP-4WM, charger with European power plug (free UK power plug on request), USB cable, drawstring pouch and instructions in French.
-
You are not lucky in your country to be forced to pay $40 for an unit in such a bad aesthetic AND mechanic condition.
-
Classic MD blanks can be used for Hi-MD recording...

"Long time no see you" like they say in Vietnam, Syrius...

As you say, comments are nice too.
