If you want to make fast transfert, just do as you do (transfert MP3 to your Net-MD machine in LP2 mode) with SonicStage. If your care about the final audio quality, I have another alternative : - get a soundcard with an optic out (or see http://forums.sonyinsider.com/index.php?showtopic=5370) - record in real time on your MD (any mode SP, LP2...) with your optical cable but, instead of using SonicStage to listen to your MP3, use Windows Media Player or Winamp (+ WinCue plug-in) with DFX Audio enhancer http://www.fxsound.com/dfx/pages/order/index.php?vendor=11&subvendor=500&plus=0&refer=notb The result is incredibly good, even with 192 kbps MP3.

Windows (XP, I do not know for Vista) open an exploxer windows when you plug your usb cable in your MZ-RH1, when this windows is open generally you are sure that SonicStage will open a Net-MD / Hi-MD windows. It does not work perfectly each time, due to unperfect USB connection I think. Be patient and if you have still a problem, just connect your machine directly to your computer, not using any USB hub.

This Tascam machine is still in production, does it ? Is it also the case of the Denon machine ? I have a Sony MDS-B5 : SP only. My DIN coaxial recording is not working properly but I bought it only 140$ (4000$ end 90's) in France. Not so important for me because I use my Sony MZ-N510 Net-MD and my Hi-MD recorder machines - with Atrac DSP type R for recording. I see that there are other ones (more expensive) on e-Bay US. So considering the price for a machine workinh quite perfectly, a NEW machine like Tascam is better for you. The dynamic of the MDS-B5 listening is incredible even comparing with an Sony MZ-RH1. Hello, I am also pchcm from minidisc.org New forum, new username. I just bring back from France the famous MDS-B5 I won e-bay. In France, everything was OK with listening. Sadly, arriving in Vietnam, it does not start up again. Last time they send my MZ-RH900 to Singapour and repaired it for cheap but this time my MDS-B5 is 5 kg ! So, if finally I must ask to a good audio technician (if I find one), he will not be familiar with it. It is why any help is welcome. Thanks

very interesting post I was just yesterday ordering to a friend a new MZ-RH1 just to be sure to have one in perfect state. The one I got in Vietnam does not look to be able to live a long time. I do not have any remote. I have a MZ-RH900 that work well but it has still a problem to reach the editting menu and my remote died already. I have supported many HDD crash and already lost 100 Gb of music. My internal Creative X-Fi audio card died also. My two first MP3 readers died after 2 years. My Ipod 5.5G need to be charge 2 or 3 times a week. 20% of my original CDs have reading problem. 50% of my DVDs have the same problem. So I hope that MDs are safer. They cost 4 times more than a basic CD-RW but can be re-use 1.000.000 times. I still can find them in Vietnam 1,2$ each. I think that every thing whitch is not inside a computer is at a safer place... Thanks

Now they know me very well in that street, price getting up when I check for the last machines... My last bought was the only MZ-RH1 I have found here (171$), a crash test machine with nothing else than a single USB cable. Cannot use some features (joogle does not work properly, no remote) but I can listen to music, download and upload at last. If I want to record real time properly, I must use my MZ-RH900, with my MZ-RH1 it look like splitting my hairs just to try.

MDLP players : Kenwood DMC-M33 / 1.000.000 VND = 57$ + Sony MZ-E700 = / 1.000.000 VND = 57$$ MDLP recorder : Victor XM-ZX5 / 1.500.000 VND = 86$ Quite expensive, I think. Above all in Vietnam where minidisc is almost dead. I have missed month ago the only Sony MZ-EH1 silver I have ever seen for 210$. Happy anyway to find as many as I want Sony Colors Mds for 1,15$ each. I discovered Sony Bianca Mds in the same shop but I didn't ask for the price.
