  1. For a laugh: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=351360648577&alt=web Check out this seller's other minidisc listings, if you dare I think their eBay ID should start with 'do-NOT'.
  2. A '333 deck on eBay 510 bucks (US) + 200 shipping from Japan. BIN or make an offer. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=251896222602&alt=web
  3. One of minidiscs worst 'improvements': the loss of a dedicated menu button on portables. Making it worse, you had to hold it to activate, rather than quick press - because you would never ever want the menu option to be heavily used with a portable editing machine! Stoopid Sony!!
  4. Check the equipment browser on minidisc.org to be sure Generally, the x40, the x70 and the x80 units eg. 640, 470, 980.
  5. Today's shiny new thing is better than yesterday's thing (which used to be a shiny new thing). Today's one is soooo awesome (but will be totally useless when it becomes yesterday's thing). Also, yesterday's thing was always a piece of crap, i just never realised it until today's shiny new thing blew it out of the water. Not applicable to everything, of course. It just really pisses me off when people don't realise the marketing hype of today's product over yesterday's is going to make today's product yesterday's, when tomorrow comes. I mean that you get told that yesterday's thing is actually rubbish - but that's not what you were saying yesterday. Gimme a break - if it works as it was intended ... Rambling rant over
  6. An MXD-D3 for VERY CHEAP - 30 bucks, BIN. BUT the CD player has issues. AND it's US-only. http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/321691674631
  7. My vote for best tool for opening is a nail file.
  8. Regarding the smaller one in your first post: You might have trouble getting discs to stay in, with so little of the rack 'gripping' the case. Maybe extend the slots all the way from left to right? Or if you design them so that the rack is not 'flush' to the wall (maybe clear by a cm or two), so that the empty space serves as a 'grip' as well? Am i making sense with either of my suggestions? It's kinda clear in my head, but writing it out is messy ;p Again, great work!!
  9. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=251733667121&alt=web This Sony w1 deck IS on eBay this time, for US$200 BIN, located in Japan BUT the postage is incredibly high! :'(
  10. Not eBay - OLX. And in the Philippines. But it is a Sony W1 twin deck - for cheap!! I wish i could get it :'( http://m.olx.ph/index.php/view+classifieds/id/59094808/Sony+Double+MiniDisc+Deck?fromRelatedAds=50371737&referralKeywords=minidisc

  13. I WANT!!!!! gimmegimmegimmegimmegimme
  14. Just did a quick experiment. Moved a 30 second LP2 track to a blank disc. W1 recognized it as a 15 sec SP track - played silent. Put it into an MDLP machine - played as a silent 15 second track. Conclusion: using a W1 to edit with an LP2/4 track or disc messes things up.
  15. The disc-disc copying is done at 4x speed.
  16. Of course, an A, B and C disc are the best way to go, and then delete the A. Have you ever found there to be problems with B or C, and had to redo them? What would cause any problems? Usually a bad disc? What else?
  17. In the case where disc A has been heavily edited, but you want to have two copies, would it be better to let the unit blank the disc, and then repeat the process with disc B as the 'original'? THEN use the service mode eject to keep the material on disc B? In other words, does disc A remain fragmented if the TOC erase is undone?
  18. An RH-50 would be the NEWEST unit ever, even newer than an RH1. (I know, i know, you probably meant the R50 or RH10)
  19. One of my spare nh1 leads has a messed up USB area. I will upload pics of it in a couple of days. Not sure if it even works - I'm willing to give it away to someone willing to take a chance on it - but postage from Australia will be 15 bucks or so. Maybe i can throw it into a deal of other stuff i have that people are after.
  20. And for anyone wanting a JA3ES deck, for one hundred bucks (US) BIN http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=131289213805&alt=web Posts to most of the world - only 25 to Australia, using the total rort GSP program (I'm soooo tempted!!)
  21. Yep. But we've all gotta start somewhere. PayPal should still protect all parties, and maybe others will be a little hesitant and it could go for less? Time will tell.
  22. ID 191314195410 on eBay is a black Sony MDS-W1 deck. Located in Germany, the seller will ship worldwide.
