  1. Some photos / notes on condition / asking price may be useful. * Moved to classifieds section (even it's not strictly MD-related)
  2. Thanks for that Bert - I think I remember reading about this unit somewhere in the media over here. Where did you acquire the unit? * Moved to Off-Topic section
  3. That's why we have a search function (Although the results with SS on WINE seem to be mixed) http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...101&hl=WINE http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...827&hl=WINE http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...903&hl=WINE http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...737&hl=WINE

  8. This is getting somewhat surreal I must say - didn't realize we had so many T-Board members lurking in our user database lol - enjoy yourselves while you're here anyway I don't think we'll be laying on yellow skins just yet, although you can choose from some others in drop-down at the bottom left.
  9. Unfortunately WMA tracks with DRM are not supported by Sonic Stage, so you will have to find a workaround similiar to the one you already employed.
  10. Did you mean you are using a USB hub? (If so I would try connecting the device direct to the computer).
  11. Ok, ok, - I'll see what I can do. - Anybody care to help me out and identify the threads to be merged.
  12. Like others have mentioned, to get podcasts on my NH1 I usually manually download the MP3 files, import into Sonic Stage, re-do the tags, do a manual convert to 132k and transfer. Or if I use my RSS reader / podcatcher I have it download the podcasts into a single folder then use the scan folder option in SS to import - but again I usually end up re-doing the tags and converting to Atrac. * Moved to Software Discussion
  13. I just dug out my E900 to check this out. There's definitely no option in the menu on mine either to disable the beep (only the M-Timer Alarm and Disc Memory). I had a look at the service manual and it doesn't mention it in there either. A shame as it is quite annoying - especially when you put a disc on pause! Anyone else?

  17. Just as a footnote you can actually change the country database for CDDB in the Sonic Stage options. It seems some countries are better than others at finding the correct info and some will generate more typos than others
  18. To be honest you're right searching for art after the albums are imported this way runs the risk of messing up your titling. If CDDB finds the art when I am importing then I'll drag it in, but make any adjustments to the track titles myself. Generally if it doesn't find it during the import stage I will find it manually from Amazon or elsewhere and save it as a jpeg. Usually I'll crop it if it has any white borders then add it to the properties of the album. (My library view is set to Albums/Playlists). To answer the other question, yes all imported art (via CDDB or otherwise) is usually re-copied as jacket.jpg into the same folder on your hdd as the source atrac or mp3 files. For some strange reason this doesn't apply to all albums and the cover art for some is found in a sub-folder of the library called "Fringe" wherein there appear to be a series of randomly numbered folders each representing an album and containing the jpegs for the cover art. How does SS know what art belongs to what album? There is an MSACCESS database in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Corporation\SonicStage\Packages that contains the metadata for all the track info and art. A bit flaky but there we are...
  19. When you get the pop-up of the art from CDDB you should drag that art into the title bar of the SS application where the blank square is that normally displays the cover art. The cursor will change to a plus sign. If you get the cover art for an album this way, when it assigns the art to the album it will ask you if you also want to assign it at a track level to all the tracks in the album. If you don't then it will just attach it to the top level album. This means if you transfer the album as a whole in one go all tracks in the album will have the cover art assigned as it will be inherited from the album. If you drill into the album and you just transfer the tracks seperately if the tracks themselves have not been assigned a cover art they won't have art on the player. Generally I always assign art at the album level and usually only transfer entire albums. If i do transfer individual tracks I check the properties of the track before transferring to see if it has art or not.
  20. This is interesting - so would these be tracks ripped from CD's transferred to MD then back into the library that didn't restore correctly? Or were they from another source?

  22. Those Jordan IV Retro's are pretty scarce, but fine looking (not to mention quite pricey). PickYourShoes.com have a few varieties left => I just received these NC phones
