The black is a mighty fine looking unit indeed - but I think if I ever bought a Sharp it would have to be a red DS70 or DR80.

That's a good question - I originally thought you could only tell it AM or FM in advance, but maybe you can specify the frequency as well. I will give it a try and let you know.

I don't think the D777's will have active noise cancellation in the same sense as the NC11/22's but more what looks like some kind of isolation "on/off" switch. That said they do lack some of the character of the D66's.

The Li-Ion "text-only" ones do definitely exist as legit versions as I had one with my Australian NH1 and possibly another with the JE DH10P (I think). I can't make up my mind on the Chinese ebay ones, as to whether they are refurbs or just ones that have gone astray from either factory or the Sony spares dept.

If I recall correctly there are 3 different recycle logos on the Sony batteries. Some US versions have a circular graphic, then there are the ones which have the the 3 interlocking arrows and then others that just say Li-Ion in text.

Could have been a Japanese world tourist edition, as these shipped with the 40ELK I believe. The optical cable I think was included everywhere (with the possible exception of the US).

Unfortunately it doesn't...

The 35ELK ships as standard with the Japanese RH1 so they are designed to work together. The 2-line display though only works on some of the older NetMD units - E10/N10/N920 is it?
