Francis is good, don't pay via paypal though, he's got difficulties with them. (to say the least) I hope he gets that sorted soon. Stupid pay pal.

It's not bad at all. You don't need to read every post.. There's enough regulars now that can answer basic questions..
-
My advice? Wait for it to come to the UK as a domestic model, then you can 'ave a listen to the bugger. If you like it completely, why not buy it?
-
Rofl, look at the T-board.. So many people *don't* use the search function.. repetitive questions over and over, in the wrong forum a lot of the time  I'll bet half of my 3000 or so posts there are solely explaining why NetMD doesn't do this, why openmg does this, how you can get netmd to do this.. Stupid netmd and its hard-to-understand-ness
-
You'll need an adapter for UK power.. Whatever the UK's voltage is, is it 240v? yes, using batteries from the UK is fine. 1.5v AA's or the 1.2v rechargeables..

Hmm. 1. Connect optical (or analogue leads) from the PS2's out, to the R700s line in. If you want to record immediately, simply slide the record button. If you want to go into record/pause mode, simply hold the pause button while sliding the record switch. here's the manual for the R700.

"Help! N707 doesn't record" "how do I get .mp3s onto MD" "Is the N707 any good" "OpenMG" "Sonicstage" "Software doesn't work" "what's the difference between.." etc. Generally it's tech support about netmd, in the general board . Which gives me the impression that netmd isn't too great.. Off topic is well.. Off topic Usually it's just answering users questions though. You would be surprised at the um.. intelligence of some users there When new units are announced, theres usually a buzz about 'em for a couple of weeks, leading to 27 page threads on E10/N10.

Well considering how restricted a player is without its remote, I find it's not much of a big deal, and surely not much of a hassle for people who do

digital recording from a soundcard using .mp3s will still require levels to be set. You can try finding an mp3 normalizer program, which converts them to the correct level (then you need to check the levels once, to make sure it's right). Digital recording from a CD player using premastered CDs doesn't need the level set, as the CDs are already at the right level

No, you need 2s SILENCE. I think the problem is likely to be loud static or something from the stereo (hissing). I had this problem with my R37 and a noisy soundcards analogue out.

60 hours.. pfft still pretty impressive. Sony didn't lie then.. How about use it like you normally do and see (i'm still not convinced)
-
Impatient America, aye? ATRAC is probably the best lossy compression out there (therefore .wma and .mp3 native support is BAD!).. Somehow MD has survived 10 years in the US, it won't die off suddenly without .mp3 support. The copy protection isn't that bad without the NetMD part.

Also, this doesn't reflect real world situations much (track skipping, remote usage etc) so you'll get better than what you would normally better than I thought though.

I'm willing to bet the DR7 layout betters that of the N10
-
NetMD can record high speed from the computer, and yes, you can still record just like an ordinary MD recorder, from line sources and such
-
I believe that would fit under 'Live Recording'

rename 'media' accessories

From what I remember, the first of the 4 notches takes forever to budge, then the rest go down fast

5-23v, 1A. Why for the amp hours?
-
Nope.
-
I've got a 1A adapter sitting 'ere for my DR7.

From an E900 owner: When it worked, I recharged it once a fortnight, I used it 1 1/2 houra a day, in SP mode. Gumstick only. Sitting on my ass, in a bus. That gives about 15 hours. 29 hours playback? Really... I tell you, it's not going to get 60 hours
