  1. You should get a voltage converter if possible for correct charging. I would also recommend you may want to try another battery. You can get them here: http://minidisco.com/lip-4wm.html
  2. Welcome to the forum. Try this: http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/details.php?file=8 ..and tell me what your JET/MDAC version are.
  3. I know the answer to #2 is definitely Yes.
  4. Welcome, bures. Well, why use M-Crew? What type of unit do you have?
  5. Welcome to the forum. This sounds about right - I believe there is a way you can alter something within the registry to point the library location on a different hard drive but I'm not up to speed on such. The current backup utility isn't that bad either - perhaps you should upgrade to Sonicstage 3.1 on that old hard drive first, use the backup utility with that and then install Sonicstage 3.1 on the new hard drive and import the library. Phew. ;P
  6. The RH10 has the backlit display that would be superior in live recording situations compared to a remote configuation with the NH900. To be honest however, I employ a NH900 with the RM-MC40ELK remote and I feel no need to upgrade to second generation Hi-MD. The differences are not worth the price in my mind. If I were buying now however, I would go for the RH10.
  7. Moving this to the 'phones forum. Please read some of the topics, espesically the pinned ones, within the phones forum by the way.
  8. We did it for the MZ-R900/700/500, again for first generation Hi-MD, and now.. With frightening restrictions facing Europeans such as reduced output [2.8mW], and no real custom equalizer on the MZ-RH10 and presumeably other second generation Hi-MD units, can we save the masses once again? --------- Here's how you remove this limitation - by entering service mode you take full responsibility for your actions and cannot hold minidisc.org or it's associates liable for any damages occured - don't worry though, you'll be fine: With the 'Hold' switch on, and while pressing 'Menu', press FF FF RW RW FF RW FF RW Pause Pause. [FF = Fast Forward | RW = Rewind] 1.) Press the 'Vol +' key to enter the Manual mode. 2.) Press the 'FF' key five times to select the item number 0113. 3.) Press the 'Vol +'/'Vol -'key and set the value that is after "DistFL", or if you don't see that, when you press 'Vol +'/'Vol -' a value will increase/decrease - change it to 24. 4.) Press the 'Pause' key on the unit to set the change. 5.) Press the 'Stop' key four times and then remove the battery or whatever is powering the unit. Turn it back on and enjoy! For those of you in Europe, you now have a full equalizer, no restriction on volume, and Kanji/etc support. North American unit owners can do the same for better language support. A big thank you to Ishiiyoshi for supplying the service manual for this unit! p.s. For information on how to get into service mode with first generation Hi-MD units, check this thread: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7434 To remove the volume limitation on first generation Hi-MD units, check this thread: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8157
  9. How much difference is there between this and the Radio Shack job, A440?
  10. I would like to welcome Ishiyoshi to the moderating team. This guy is a real MD collector and I believe he will do well for the board's style. I know that his hire is a real quick promotion but the quality and consistancy of his posts have really set him apart from everyone. Unfortunately, I must note that dex Otaku will be on hiatus for a few months becuase of personal reasons.
  11. Search the registry for related keywords, like Sony, Sonicstage, etc. Anything it finds - zap it out. What is your JET/MDAC version? [determine such with this program?
  12. Post your system specs according to that silly rules thread at the top o' the forum laddie.
  13. Thank you bland, those screenshots assist me a great deal. I appreciate you taking the time to snap those photos. Additionally, it's very f'ing strange to see your website on someone else's screen. Thank you for your opinion, DEJ. I'm also glad to see you around here more often and I hope you contribute further. I'll see what I can do for the Old Default skin.
  14. As far as I know the RH710 does indeed support *.mp3. I really have little information about this unit as it's a seemingly Europe-only release. I would assume it does considering the nomenclature is the same as the rest of the 2nd generation family, but then again I thought the CMT-AH10 would and it didn't. Who knows, I'm sure a friendly European will chime in and "pwn" us all. ;P
  15. I'm sorry you disagree with my actions, but until I see something with a little more backbone, I just can't let a topic like that sit in the Hi-MD forum. Why would I concern myself with Sony's salesfigures? It's none of my business and really an unnecessary comment. I'd concern myself with Sharp or Kenwood's sales figures first! Most negative topics are canned because I won't foster a community full of flames and fighting - I've seen such be the mark of ruination far too often. Do you think Rick, the webmaster, would let something like this go on the front page of minidisc.org? Why do you think he wouldn't do so? p.s. Enough discussion of my action, continue it in PM if you deem necessary.
  16. Breepee, I don't believe you understand how many hits we get here to the forum, espesically the Hi-MD section. Have you ever checked out how many people are on at the same time, or how many Google keywords link to this forum as the #1 hit? With things being as confusing as they are for the novice, this sort of topic planted in the Hi-MD forum would do more harm than good [in the raise awareness sense]. It is perfectly suitable in the off topic forum as it's merely hearsay - it hasn't been banned, it hasn't been thrown in the trash bin.
  17. Welcome to the forums! Yes, this info is 100% correct. I edited it a week ago with the bold text.
  18. This is the cheapest place I could find it. Welcome to the forums, btw.
  19. Can I see a screenshot of this? I'm confused. So you use Old Default, or are you just saying that? Do you prefer Old Default over all of the skins available?
  20. This could help you: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7070
  21. I find it really amusing that out of all six PC's I've installed Sonicstage on that I've had absolutely no problems at all. I find it comical that I see these incessant reviews on the internet stating "Sonicstage won't stop crashing" or some other similiar diatribe. In my line of work [cable ISP tech support] diagnosing more than two thousand computers, I would say that more than 50% had little to no windows updates. I would say 75% had at least one virus detected by Trendmicro's Housecall. More than 85-90% had spyware that was detected by Ad-Aware or Microsoft's Antispyware [beta]. Every single time I reply to a Sonicstage problem topic I think of what I've stated above. I've never had a Sonicstage problem with any of the computers I've installed it on. I think there is an unfair train of thought against Sony's Sonicstage software - whilst it has failed/annoyed most of us in the past, I honestly believe that things have truly changed. Sonicstage 3.x feels mature and I honestly have no qualms with it. Anyone else having similiar experiences?
  22. I need to test it with Sonicstage 3.1, but using Sonicstage 3.0 I was able to insert a cd in my drive, transfer it to my library, encode it in Hi-SP and transfer it to my NH900 in about four and a half minutes. The majority of the time was encoding the tracks into Hi-SP; I've heard it's faster with Sonicstage 3.1.
  23. Click on the links, don't copy and paste them, Maniac.
  24. An inane rumor, and nothing more. Moving this to off topic.
  25. Indeed, it does keep track of both versions.
