  1. Hello, and welcome to the forums. Please post your system specs according to the rules.
  2. You've been a bit negative lately, anont - if things are not going so well for you in life or something of that sort, please don't take your frustrations out here. Nonetheless, in the attempt to ridicule the idea of trading discs, you've missed out on one crucial point that bland has described quite well; it's a community thing where you can make friendships and learn about music you may not have ever known. I fail to see how BitTorrent, iTunes and all the rest can foster such relationships. I can understand why you may have said what you did considering the trade forum doesn't have any activity as of late, but sometimes things take a while to grow - just like this forum. If it really bothers you, just minimize that specific group of forums by clicking on the little minus sign above it.

  4. Yeah, I'm not sure what that was about. I couldn't restart Apache because it has a passcode that is only known by the webmaster. It was pretty late when it occured, otherwise I would've called him. Of course, he told me today that he can call me anytime when it goes down. I can't wait till it does at like 3 am one night.
  5. Thanks for the kind words - one thousand people in such a short time is a true accomplishment indeed. I have considered asking Sony if they wish to advertise here, and if they wanted to I probably wouldn't stop them. I've had people already confront me and ask if this is a Sony-run forum, and it's not and never has been. Would placign their ads change that statement? No - I wouldn't hold any bias and report things just the same. As for financial assistance, don't worry about that - we're fine. If any of you wish to contribute to the forum and get benefits [espesically for the gallery], feel free.
  6. Congrats to leaf, our 7,000th registered and confirmed user.
  7. All of their money goes into R+D and product design, they can't afford advertising.
  8. I'm just trying to help you, anont. If you want Sonicstage fixed, as it's not common for you to be having these problems, post your system specifications according to the rules.
  9. Hello, I just wanted to announce that if you're a registered user of the forums, not only do you get access to our downloads section, the gallery, but also the live recording archive within the gallery! Hear our recording efforts or contribute your own and participate in one of the best communities around. To access the Live Recording Archive, just visit: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?act=m...md=sc&cat=2 Feel free to upload any recordings you wish! Just create a new album and upload away. Members have the option of 3 galleries with 20 media files each. -------- Live Recordings upload guide by greenmachine: 1) Locate and click the 'Live Recordings' button. [attachmentid=1074] 2) Locate and click the category which fits best for your sample, for example 'Music'. [attachmentid=1075] 3) Locate and click the 'New Album' button. [attachmentid=1076] 4) The 'Album Manager' will appear and ask you fill out 'Album Name' and Album Desctiption'. Be sure to check the 'Public' box if you want to make the album viewable for others. Once you're done, click the 'Create Album' button. [attachmentid=1077] You will be directed to an overview of your current albums. - Alternatively, you can access your existing albums from the main page by clicking 'My Controls' -> 'Your Albums' and start from there if you've already created at least one album previously. 5) From an album of your choice, select either 'Upload Image' or 'Bulk Upload' from the drop-down menu. [attachmentid=1078] 6a) If you have selected 'Upload Image', you will be asked for the 'Caption' and an optional description, where you can specify details of your recording. Once you're done, select the file to upload and click 'Post Image'. Wait until it's done - there's no progress indicator - it depends mainly on the file size and the upload speed of your connection how long it'll take until it's finished. Once it's done, you'll be redirected to your album overview page. Don't click any other buttons until it's done. [attachmentid=1079] 6b) If you have selected 'Bulk upload', a page will appear where you can batch upload up to 10 files. Specify the file(s) and click 'Post Multiple Files'. There's no way to enter a description in this mode - you can edit it afterwards though. Again, it's important to wait until it's done. If you want to continue reading MDCF while uploading, you need to open a new window in order not to interrupt the process. [attachmentid=1080] At this point i also want to encourage everyone to share.
  10. Members, you no longer need this as I've instituted the live recording archive* here at the forums. Have fun! * - [within the gallery link at the top of the forum] p.s. unstickied.

  15. Post your system specs according to the rules at the top of this forum [software Discussion/FAQ's], anont.
  16. If I remember your past situations correctly, TRY THIS MODEL BEFORE YOU BUY.
  17. Sony likes to make alot of devices, whereas smart companies focus a massive amount of effort on one device and then build upon it. If you look back at the past, one must ask, why so many MD devices in the first place? What if there was a couple hundred different types of iPods? Granted, MD has been around for more than a decade, but still..it's like Sony is keen on flooding the market and hoping one of their products will be a hit. All they accomplish is further consumer confusion by introducing confusing variations, i.e. 1st generation Hi-MD and 2nd generation Hi-MD.
  18. Thanks guys! I sure had alot of fun at the bar..phew.

  20. Can't you just upload whatever you've recorded via USB to a computer and then manipulate it with software?
  21. Thanks for the update. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7430 Don't even worry about the plug; just buy a standalone gumstick charger and go that route. The BC-7HT would be perfect for you - use Google and find a place nearby that you can buy it from. There are no issues aside from that.
  22. What're the specs on your PC, grimleyj?
  23. Welcome Rachel, be sure to check out this thread: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7518
