I agree with atrain, please read the rules and post accordingly.

Indeed, they are very light and also fold into quite a small shape - really a good combo for MD use. They can get a little sweaty in the heat, though.

2nd Generation Sony Hi-MD Pictorial/Review Roundup
Christopher replied to Christopher's topic in News
$449 isn't too bad at Minidisco..considering it's all metal construction, camera, possible revision of HD amp, etc I think it's a pretty fair price. I wouldn't be surprised to see it at $400 in a while. Additionally, I see no one has bit on a RH710 yet either, would like to hear more about that one. -

I still recommend MarcNet's wav converter for best functionality, however.
-
Sonicstage 3 has a built in wav converter.

Everything you need to know about the RH10 is here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8614

Sony will fix any unit with dead pixels, and I heard it's just another small issue that is typically amplified by the Internet's obsessive compulsive nature - most reviews on the internet may be correct, but usually make such big deals out of small problems.

Hi, let's continue posting embarassing pictures to the gallery, MD pics, audio stuff, whatever! There is 10 gigs of space allocated for this, please don't make me force each of you with my trusty MDCF [tm] Caddle Prod. p.s. let's have this serve as a continuation of the last "post embarassing pictures of yourself" thread

I won't be upgrading to second generation Hi-MD this time around, sadly. The NH900 with RM-MC40ELK does everything I need to, and with ATRAC3plus Hi-SP conversion [for one album] and transfer now almost at three minutes or less on my computer* I really cannot see anything more I need. *.mp3 is nice, but these were built to play ATRAC3/plus - it's the only way you get the sweet battery life. Sure, OLED is nice, but the 40ELK does everything I need it to. The DH10P keeps calling me though, just because I love those queer units.

I honestly cannot think of a single under $300 - 400 solution for live recording other than Hi-MD with similiar quality.
-
Agreed, Syrius. I've seen the screen on the DS and the one on the PSP and it's no contest - the screen on the PSP is 100x superior.
-
Good to hear things are progressing. Have you tried optimizing the database? It's available in the options. p.s. Nice catch on me saying outlook instead of paint..I've had only a hour of sleep.
-
Hi, easy poll, just curious as to what you think as I'm hopelessly deadlocked.
-
The PSP has woo'ed me like no other electronic device - I was able to sample one the other day. I would definitely love to get one, but considering the price of the unit, $250ish, a few games $40-50 each, and a decent memorystick $50-$100, you're talking about some serious money that could be dumped into a computer for superior preformance. Of course, comparing the two is a moot point. It'll definitely be much hotter when the prices go down a little bit, but Sony has definitely hit a grand slam with this one.
-
What kind of features would you guys like to see in a Hi-MD bookshelf?
-
Press the print screen key and paste it in outlook, and save that file as a gif or jpeg and attach it in a reply. When was the last time you defragged the drive, btw?
-
No, he shouldn't need better hardware than what he's got for good preformance. How many other programs are running when you use Sonicstage? If you did a control + alt + del and clicked on the processes tab, could you take a screenshot of it with Sonicstage open? p.s. How big is your hard drive and how full is it?
-
Unfortunately, it appears that's the DR7 manual, not the DR77 manual.

From the almighty Slashdot: Now this is definitely a step in the right direction. One of the major issues of Windows is that most people are on administrative accounts, giving programs free access to anything on the computer, i.e. that's why there are a bajillion trojans out there. *nix has a thing called permissions, it's really a brilliant notion. Whilst this will probably be a moot endeavor and Windows will be just as susceptible then as it is now, it's better than nothing. Everyone doesn't need root.
-
Reinstall via the directions in the FAQ. We can't verify that way of installing Sonicstage 3, btw.

Post your system specs according to the rules [the rules are pinned in a topic at the top of the forum].

You can always order online, too.

How Do You Transfer A Cd To Hi-md As A .wav File
Christopher replied to TommyTunes's topic in Software
Yes - this is also covered in the Sonicstage help files. -
Cool unit, welcome to the forums. "Picky" reviews that seem a little over the top [which is about 99% of all electronic related reviews] that are on the internet must be taken with a grain of salt. Most of the time it's complete and inane b.s. - for example, my girlfriend's new Inspirion 9300, a dream of a laptop, was tore up in a few reviews floating around the internet on certain points that are really not even worth mention but are amplified so much in reviews that it's projecting a perspective that isn't even valid.
