I knew Minidisc was a niche format, but...

WANTED: original user manual for sony MZ B100 MD recorder
Christopher replied to alienrib's topic in Classifieds
Here's the pdf version: http://minidisc.org/manuals/sony/sony_mzb1...b100_manual.pdf -
Heh, you know how it is here, I'm content with what we got. Definitely a Christmas present for sure, after some tweaks it'll be interesting to see what this old gal is really capable of. We're probably going to serve more than 14 million page views this month. Astounding. btw, Athlon 64 + Linux; not bad, not bad.

I really thought in the beginning that we could lose a great deal, but with our phpBB always up to date the chance of us getting hit was less. We did have an exploitable version of PHP, and it is surprising things didn't go awry. The webmaster swooped in around 11pmish [after a conversation with me on the phone about this whole issue] and upgraded everything - and now with some tweaks we'll be able to handle more hits, and probably get faster speed. Nonetheless, thanks to you guys and all the others who make this community worth spending our time on. :thumbsup2:

Happy Holidays, Andrew; I hope that all has been well since I've spoken to you last.

Is it possible to get recordings on a *NetMD* => WAV ?
Christopher replied to gildasp's topic in Minidisc
Discussed slightly more in detail here: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=7073 -
Hey, that's awful nice of ya there bangra, happy holidays to you and everyone else as well. :peace: You sure you won't be back in January? I've been hearing some interesting things through the grape vine lately.

Great pics..I just got mine. Came in a cardboard box, very very nice. 40ELK is a dream, and I knew even by not owning one that it'd be awesome. Now that I do, it is. This is a very fine unit. [i hold back my comments because I'm doing a review as well]

The forum was shut down today because of an exploit that could've hurt the whole site [minidisc.org] and destroyed a considerable amount of content. After a few oddities, the forum and website is now running the latest version of PHP, Apache and MySQL. Please report any bugs. And..the profiles are working. Okay, this is where I wanted to be. Yaaaay, this forum is uber.

Welcome Nismo96 to the moderation team. I have let a few people go, and I have one more person in mind. We shall see, however.

I believe it's the microphone [poor quality] that's causing the issue, and it might be the automatic gain control you're using. Have you tried setting the record level manually?
-
I don't think it is the wrong thing, but there are nuances that you will have to adhere to until things even out. I don't think it's that terrible of a process, but I haven't even tried it yet - it seems like alot of people are happy and successful with Hi-MD, however. You need to upgrade to HiMDrenderer .31, and not employ an old version. http://marcnetsystem.co.uk/cgi-bin/mn2.pl?...02?drs=,83,39,2, Concerning the static, please explain your microphone setup.

Welcome to the forums. :welcome: We will try to help, but we cannot promise anything. First off, what unit are you using? Second, what version of HiMDrenderer are you using? Additionally, isn't there a converting utility within Sonicstage that will turn omg's into oma's? I swear I saw it the other day.

subTrail users, you are being forced to use Sosumi template until I am done with tweaking subTrail. Thank you for your patience.

Post a picture of your audio rig. [warning to dial-up]
Christopher replied to Christopher's topic in The Loft
I dunno mate, I'll probably be studying the unit in depth before I do a review/pictorial, although don't be surprised if I let something slip out initally. This won't be a review similiar to any that I've done before - I want this to have more depth and better pictures [i.e. dial-up modems would explode]. I appreciate the kind words, nonetheless. Although I will say Audiocubes will not be appreciating my review once this is all over! -
It's included with the software that Nismo has linked. Welcome to the forum, btw. :welcome:

From Crickets to Rock Concerts...poised to buy NH900
Christopher replied to mgdimo's topic in Live Recording
Thank you for the kind words. :peace: btw, you know this topic is advertised on the front page of minidisc.org, right? I thought it would help people. -
Does this unit even have an AC adaptor? Also, are you using Sonicstage 2.#?

The only way to upload digitally is in a realtime scenario for Macs. I know of no viable solution to facilitate such, but I'm sure some standard audio application with recording abilities would be fine. You basically just need a relatively inexpensive deck with a digital out, and I assume your Mac has a digital in? If not, a soundcard which such isn't too expensive.

Wow, you are my god. I love that site. Please stick around and continue to give us insight, aaron! -
Euro version works great on my computer.

Maybe it's because you have remnants of Sony software still there. Reinstall via the directions in the NetMD faq, except, install Sonicstage 2.3 from here afterwards: http://www.connect-europe.com/sonicstage

The inital issue was uploading songs that were recorded in a live scenario, right? Then just upload them with Sonicstage and convert them to *.wav or whatnot using Sony's wav converter or Marcnet's utility. [more info here]

Welcome, Mind. :welcome: Unfortunately, no viable software solution for high speed transfer exists for Mac. You're still stuck with realtime transfers, whether they be analog or digital [i would prefer digital].
