This is a good summation of uploading options for Hi-MD: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?p=32073 To summarize, yes, you can upload faster than realtime and convert it to *.wav, allowing you to do whatever you wish with the recording. There is a very small chance that the track could be trashed during upload. Definitely check out what I've linked, however.

Do you get any error messages before it crashes?

Welcome to the forums. Please state the bitrate of the mp3's and also please reinstall via the directions in the NetMD faq, found within this forum.
-
I completely understand. I've diagnosised more than a thousand Sonicstage issues and I know how frustrating it can be. Whenever you're ready, just come back to this thread and we'll continue support. Good luck with your exams, mate.

Welcome to the forums. Hi-MD can record in lossless PCM. What's your maximum budget, anyways?
-
Hello, and welcome to the forums. The answer to your question is no, and please read the stickies at the top of this forum.
-
True. What're your thoughts on SP and Hi-SP?
-
Well, I think that you're not looking at the maximum density of the disc and thinking logically. If you record in SP mode, you have 74 or 80 minutes, whatever the maximum is on the disc. LP2 is a little more than 2 hours. When you combine your songs together, how much time do you get? Also, tell me about the songs, what bitrate are they in, what source were they [mp3, wav, etc], and so forth.

Problem with downloading Sonic Stage 2.3
Christopher replied to powermans's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
2.2 is what I'd consider an upgrade worth your time, but it doesn't seem that 2.3 brought any huge improvements. If it works it works, don't screw with it. -
Awesome. Please report back with information about your real issue with the MDS-S41 and how you may have fixed it! About the remote, I have no idea bud. Sorry ;x

ikari, you need to read the rest of the thread before quoting my reply from nearly fifteen days ago. :rasp: Welcome to the forums, btw.

Ultra portability and high possibility that Hi-MD will have higher densities > DAT, imho.

Welcome to the forums. What's your maximum budget?
-
I think he's talking about the recording level for manual live recordings [non AGC].
-
Try reading the NetMD faq for reinstall directions if you don't have any luck. Be sure to upgrade to Service Pack 2, btw.
-
dave, you can record lossless PCM with a Hi-MD unit.
-
Welcome to the forums. What kind of unit do you have?
-
Er, why would you get on the internet on a Windows XP machine without service packs or doing windows update? The first thing you must do on any windows machine, espesically after a clean install is windows update, hence getting the service packs. I wouldn't be surprised if you have viruses on that computer now, honestly. It must be an issue with your unit, I suppose, but this one doesn't feel like such. I will tell you this however, you're problem is unique, and the MD experience is not like this for everyone. Sorry you have esoteric issues, but we are trying to help.

Problem with downloading Sonic Stage 2.3

Welcome. What version of Sonicstage are you using currently? -
Welcome to the forums. No. And Daij, go read up a little bit ya dork. The latest version of HiMDrenderer is amazing.

Welcome to the forums. I believe you e-mailed the wrong address. It's md-webmaster AT minidisc DOT org. Obviously, replace AT and DOT with the proper symbols. For anyone casually passing by this topic or coming across it in searches, look here for further information.

Cases for regular MD discs work for Hi-MD discs as there is NO size difference between the two. So, it's just a novelty. Bigger capacity, bigger container, bigger..well, you get the idea.

Profiles are still not working. Sorry! Anyway, I've added a little wintery theme to Sosumi, please refresh a few times to allow this change. SubTrail users: I will be working on this template very soon and making it up to speed with the numerous changes I've made with Sosumi.

If this happens to my NH900 when I recieve it, I'm gonna be pretty pissed.

Digital amp versus lower bitrate recordings...
Christopher replied to justin_barbier's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Honestly, the only thing I see occuring with the second generation of Hi-MD is slightly longer battery life and different asthetics. Perhaps different units from other companies, however. I was on your train of thought, but I decided to go ahead and just get the NH900 from Japan anyway. Waiting for a Sharp Hi-MD might be worth it, but I already have a Sharp unit and I know quite well what they sound like - and I've always wanted to hear a HD digital amp. Of course, the live recording functionality of a Sharp unit would be nice..
