  1. Welcome to the forums, spy guy. Hint: They all look the same.
  2. Can you do a conversion from just CD to LP2? I think transcoding from ATRAC to ATRAC is causing your woes.
  3. Welcome to the forums. Try this: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=6087
  4. PC gaming is really not that different. So, are you going to buy a new computer?
  5. Oh! It's right above the "who is online" on the index.
  6. Wait, are you buying it from Audiocubes?
  7. Man, I haven't updated this in a while! Well, anyway - I attached a XP-120 to my processor, and now my system temps are slick! I can't get above 38ish celcius under full load - and that's on a hot day. Great news today, however.. My hard drive is dying [clicks of death]. Looks like it's Raptor time.. p.s. I also dynamically rewired everything within my case and the airflow is awesome. I'll take some updated pics soon.
  8. If the next generation of Hi-MD had only functionality with current Hi-MD discs, MD discs formatted in Hi-MD mode and future [higher density] Hi-MD discs, would you buy into it? I don't think I would unless they figured out a way to write on the disc faster.
  9. The NH900 employs an extra AA add-on battery pack.
  10. Welcome AWA; your concerns are fruitless. A first generation Hi-MD unit will have backward functionality. It wouldn't make sense if it didn't - all the other first generation Hi-MD units do.
  11. It could possibly work with the HD1 - it would be very interesting if we could get some sort of confirmation on this. I'm riding on yes. Not sure about your remote woes. E-mail Sony?
  12. The production process isn't under any sort of scrutiny. They're simply teasing the market and seeing if people even wanted the discs in the first place - why else would they only market the NH600 in most retail stores? They don't want to throw too much money in what could be a massive failure. Well it ain't, and we want our discs! :rasp:
  13. You can purchase the 3-line remote from Audiocubes. I am not sure about the recording level, if that's what you referring to. E-mail them?
  14. Marc's utility for uploading is fantastic and is maturing rapidly. Whilst I can't tell you that you should delve into the format and expect to be content with this application and Hi-MD's fantastic recording ability, it sure seems to be working well with the overall consensus. We've got a very critical bunch of people here - if marc's application was to be held as a "iffy" sort of utility it would certainly be discussed. The only thing I seem to see is alot of positive results and appreciation. If I were new to the format and had a choice? I'd go for it. If all else fails just upload 1:1 until the wav converter utility comes out.
  15. Welcome Church-Audio. Try to keep the shout lock off here and speak normally. Thanks.
  16. I am not aware of the full implications of the dangers that are ahead of us, but there are currently issues with certain databases which are crucial to the forums. I am not sure what will come of this. The database that contained information with the Ads has been affected somehow and no longer functions. This is not a result of my tweaking, btw. I am being quite open with this dilemma, but I will not hide such from you folk - you're my friends. I will keep you informed of what occurs, but we've been through worse. Things may seem a bit slower until we get this resolved. I appreciate your patience.
  17. Welcome, b.e.! I am actually surprised at this discovery. Most standard MD units have a memory in which it can playback audio from a disc when the unit last stopped. Unfortunately, I still have yet to have an opportunity to purchase a Hi-MD unit. Is there anyone else who can help this gentlemen, or is bookmarking the only option? This may be a limitation in the NHF800.. btw, your photography is beautiful. I recommend y'all check out his website.
  18. It will happen eventually; for the format to stay relevant in today's world higher densities will have to be achieved. I predict that when we do transcend to a higher density, we will lose compatibility with old regular MD discs.
  19. Welcome, eric. Please report back with the options available with your DIN unit and we can discuss hypothetical configurations further.
  20. Good luck to you, Cor - I hope that everything ends up okay. I've been watching Ivanfest '04 on CNN. Keep us informed and please please take some pics.
