No, they mark the package as a gift and you avoid such charges. They are not a US online store, they are based in Japan.

Indeed. Since this is being discussed already, I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread and let discussion continue there.

Welcome to the forums. What is DAB? Also, what's your budget?

Did you try reinstalling via the directions in the NetMD faq? Welcome to the forums, btw.

Yet another HiMD wish which Sony should of thought of
Christopher replied to kickingVegas's topic in Minidisc
It's just different, it doesn't do anything significant except annoy people. -
Moving to the correct forum..

You can always buy some from Audiocubes.

I wouldn't expect new Sony models until early next year. I wouldn't expect new Hi-MD models from another company until late this year or early next.

Kaotic, that reply wasn't really helpful. Anyway, you can download music to your Minidisc unit via a Mac, albeit in realtime like A440 stated. Look for the Xitel DG2.

need suggestions for a minidisk player/recorder
Christopher replied to mastersed's topic in Minidisc
Welcome to the forums. I would recommend you read around a bit so you understand where we are concerning uploads. It's a bit sketchy at the moment. Nonetheless, you can upload, but only in realtime. I would suggest you look into Hi-MD units, espesically the MZ-NH900. It'll probably fit you well. -
Yet another HiMD wish which Sony should of thought of
Christopher replied to kickingVegas's topic in Minidisc
If someone can make an adapter to convert the proprietary USB connection that connects to the NH1/NH3D to the normal one that the NH900 + co. uses, I'm sure they'd make a good bit of money. -
Upload recordings to a .wav onto pc faster than realtime.
Christopher replied to marcnet's topic in Hi-MD Renderer Forum
Indeed, but we here at the site have taken a very keen interest in this method and we will be sure that progress does not die down. I am very serious about my "bounty", if I need to make the payment higher to produce results I have no problem with that. I ever spoke to the webmaster on the phone last night about this, and I haven't heard him this excited in a coon's age. Let's get crackin'! -
NH900 - Another price drop at Amazon. Bad news for Sony?
Christopher replied to horace's topic in Minidisc
Moving this to the relevant forum.. Good thread, btw. -
This is the only device I know of that could do such with your model: http://electricbirdland.co.uk/minidiscuk/titler.htm

Building a remote keyboard for a Sony MD player
Christopher replied to seppo's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Moving this to the relevant forum.. I may construct one of these during the winter. Can you take pictures or video of remote operation? This is a very interesting project. -
I'm closing this topic as there was already a very informative discussion on this with similiar points and discoveries. I ask of you all to continue discussion here: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=4207

Twenty five dollar reward to whomever finalizes this process. Possibly more if it's done steadfast. -
Good call, and most likely true. However, the most proper way to use a Sharp NetMD unit with softwares such as Sonicstage is as follows: Install drivers that came with Sharp NetMD unit only, and then install Sonicstage 2 after.

Christopher replied to marcnet's topic in Hi-MD Renderer Forum
Guys, if you can whip something up ASAP to solve this issue, it'd be really appreciated. I might consider a bounty [$$$] for it. -
Upload recordings to a .wav onto pc faster than realtime.
Christopher replied to marcnet's topic in Hi-MD Renderer Forum
So, the maximum size of the *.wav file can only be 10.3mb? What occurs when it goes past that? -
Sonicstage 2 comes with OpenMG, so I'm not sure what your referring to Fernando.

Suggested method for uploading recordings from Hi-MD
Christopher replied to dex Otaku's topic in Minidisc
dex, whilst I'm supportive of this method, I cannot keep it stickied as there is now an easier way for uploads - faster than realtime. http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?p=29860#29860 -

Stickied. This is going to make some serious waves for the community, and I will make sure it's front page news. Thanks, marc!
