Moving this to the correct forum.. What about a MD bookshelf system, or etc?
-
You can't even buy them, try it for yourself. Out of stock.. :rasp:

Please do not double post in the future. Welcome, regardless. I recommend that you head over to our NetMD forum, and read the FAQ. Try uninstalling all NetMD softwares [registry edits and all] and download and install Sonicstage 2. Get back to me after that.

I see..so, can the unit even turn on?
-
Welcome, stop the clocks. This has been discussed numerous times in the past and I really recommend you search a little bit more. You need to seek a microphone in on your computer. Most newer generation computers have these built into the motherboard [along with a headphone out] and/or most soundcards as well.

Have a Hi-MD question that doesn't need a thread? [part II]
Christopher replied to Christopher's topic in Minidisc
Definitely birdy. It's not uncommon for Sony to do this, as they've done it in the past. Perhaps they think Europe will actually make use of such features, whereas consumers in the US may not. Ultimately I believe it was a decision to cut costs I suppose..or shiesty tactics. Welcome, btw. Yes. The seemingly best method may be to burn it onto cd and then rip from there, or 1:1 upload into a program like CoolEdit. Once this feature is available [in the higher-end units], I'm sure discussion and relevant informative threads will tell you everything you need to know. Welcome, too. -
Hello, and welcome to the forums. This is the first time I've ever heard of an issue like this - so you're telling me that your Minidisc player suddenly died and eminated a smoke smell? Can you even turn the unit on? Also, what kind of battery were you using? Was it plugged into the A/C outlet?

Please read the NetMD faq found in this forum. Welcome.

Analog route, but like I stated before a deck + soundcard combo wouldn't run you too much.

Hi rusted. I recommend you try searching first, as this has been discussed in the past under some slightly different circumstances. Basically, though..you'll need a device with optical out [which your unit does not have] - this feature is common on MD decks and bookshelf systems [some around $100usd on eBay]. You could do an analog configuration for now via a male-to-male analog stereo cable [$5 at your local electronics store, usually] via the headphone out on your unit [i recommend the maximum volume] and the mic-in on your computer. Use a program to facilitate the recording and you'll be set [search for relevant programs].

Did you check out the stickied topics in the NetMD section, and/or searching?

Not really sure about this one. I don't believe it's a MD issue, though..perhaps you may want to try a related forum [to your motherboard] that could entertain this question better? Unless anyone else has some ideas? Make sure that you have the most updated driver, though..I believe you'll be able to check it at windowsupdate.microsoft.com if you're on a Windows machine.

Welcome, and please do not double post in the future. I want to advise you in this situation, but it seems awfully familiar and I feel like I've gone over this before. What I want you to do is go over to our search function, available here: http://forums.minidisc.org/search.php ..and put in omgjbox.exe. See what you can get from there, and if there's any further issues then state a question.

Awesome, MadDuck! This is good news for the Mac users amongst us..I'll see if I can spur some progress! Thanks for finding this out, and welcome.

What does your signifigant other think of your obsession, Kevin? My girl says I need to go to a looney bin, lol.

If NetMD wasn't really a necessity for you I'd opt for the DR77, as it'd probably have the best sound out of all of them. Also, what's wrong with Aiwa and Kenwood? :rasp:
-
Welcome. It's a nice unit indeed, but before I continue speaking about it, you're aware that you'll need a unit to record Minidiscs before you can start listening to them, right? So effectively, you WILL need a recorder.
-
Take a look here first: http://minidisc.org/himd_table.html There has been much discussion about these two units as well, please try the search function. The remote(s) in question are not available yet, at least the 3-line that comes with the NH1. The NH900 probably uses a RM-MC35ELK variant, so it'd be best to wait for the unit to debut before seeking the remote.

Hello aihe. The E7W is indeed a rare model, and I was quite surprised I was able to pick a somewhat near-mint one off eBay for only $100 US! It doesn't get much use these days, as I find myself not having much time to sit and enjoy some music. I see that you have two [!] MZ-E606W's! Are they both the same color, or what? I know it's a MDLP model, but it still is pretty keen. Looks like you have a pretty good collection of md units, period. btw - How's the radio reception on the F40?
-
If you do uninstall, please do it the way it's prescribed in the NetMD faq [registry edits and all].

I'm glad that Hi-MD units will draw on the USB for power..
