Not bad, I suppose..have you ever desired another SP-only unit, though? Surely the E300 isn't at the top of the list for you..
-
Yes, the remote of the units are sold seperately, and when you're ready I can point you in the right direction for such. The new remote - are you referring to the one that comes with the NH1? It's a three-line display remote and probably the best remote yet for a MD unit. I'm a little bit unclear on what you want us to explain for you, though..can you be a little more specific?
-
So wait, did he put in another Minidisc or did he use yours? Also, do you have another you could try? When you transfer music, do you use the AC adapter?
-
Sounds like it could be a serious hardware issue. Have you tried functionality on another computer?

Have a Hi-MD question that doesn't need a thread? [part II]

You will actually get better results if you use a better gumstick [this is what the batteries are referred to] with higher mAh. I would recommend you look for 1400 - 1450 mAh gumsticks. They're a dime a dozen on eBay..don't pay more than ~$8 for one. I believe that with normal use you could probably get a year's use out of these types of batteries, if not longer. -
I'm going to go ahead and answer this as seemingly not many people have had experience with Audiocubes. They are a fantastic e-tailer and I happen to personally know the person who is the owner of the store. Their shipping times are usually very fast [it all comes from Japan], and they are becoming one of the must trusted and largest 'tailers for imported Japanese electronics on the 'net. I have purchased many items and units from this company with no issues at all. I wholeheartedly recommend this company 100%.

Indeed. Sharp will most likely release a Hi-MD unit later in the year or early next. If you were to get a deck with digital out, would you buy new or used? If new, I would like to point you towards some e-tailers that would be best for this..otherwise, if you choose used then take a look at eBay. What's your budget for a deck, regardless?
-
Nope, they should be the same as previous Sony units [at least the generation before], and in that case, you're DR480 would still be a clear winner. For overall functionality though, a Hi-MD unit would be the best choice.

I was listening to my MZ-E7W [pics in my sig], and the question came to mind, What's your favorite SP-only unit? I think the MZ-E7W is mine for it's unique backlit watch remote functionality, definitely oddball. I assume the 'R50 will be popular with quite a few people, and some others. What about you?

Welcome; please read the NetMD faq found in this forum, uninstall what you've got [via the directions..be sure to do the registry edits too], and download and install Sonicstage 2.
-
I would just buy an external battery charger [like I mentioned above], but "upgraditis" is cool.
-
You need to upload them via realtime, either in an analog or digital scenario. You cannot upload these tracks via USB. To learn more about this, try searching a little bit. Welcome, btw.

Have a Hi-MD question that doesn't need a thread? [part II]
Christopher replied to Christopher's topic in Minidisc
Did you try something besides Windows formatting? [i.e. Norton] ---------- smkraft - The rechargeable batteries are removeable [in most of the models, at least the ones you mention], so it's a moot point. Welcome, regardless - I used to live near Atlanta for more than 15 years. Busy place it's turned out to be. Anyway, Stamp had mentioned an issue with scratches on the LCD screen. They are very easy to remove and you can accomplish this with toothpaste. Take a small dab and apply it to a moistened cotton swab. "buff" that into the scratch on the LCD unit [circular strokes] until the scratch is covered. Make sure you press down slightly otherwise it won't really do anything at all. Moisten a paper towel and wipe off the toothpaste, and repeat till the scratch is gone. Don't believe me? I don't care - it's worked for me and 3 different Sony remotes - bringing the LCD's back to "mint" condition. haha -
Thank you Fray; that question has been bothering me as well.

Have a Hi-MD question that doesn't need a thread?

I'm closing this thread because it's too big. It will be continued in a new thread, available here: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?p=23068 -
Continued from this thread: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=4144 Not to be pretentious, but I know alot of Hi-MD. I also notice that in threads people will come in and ask questions about Hi-MD in a thread that is talking about such, but not what's related to the actual topic. So, as a Hi-MD guru, I will entertain all one-liners here! Feel free to ask me anything.

Do you have another computer you can test this out on?
-
Welcome, RG. I doubt we'll see anything like that until later in the year, if not early next. These little units are so functional, I wonder if a deck will be necessary in the first place.
-
You installed the only the driver off the cd?
-
Welcome, No1. I would definitely recommend you read some of the other threads in this forum [Live Recording]; alot of solid information has already been said. Anyway, I think ultimately the DR420 would be the better buy, if you lived in Europe. If not, state your budget and I can make a better recommendation. Have you looked at our equipment browser [http://minidisc.org/equipment_browser.html], btw? You can learn quite a bit there.

MZN10 "Failed to authenticate device/media" error
Christopher replied to djorkboy's topic in Software
Are you still having this issue? If so, try things on a different computer. -
Have you tried a different battery? I would also recommend that you may want to buy an external battery charger, as charging batteries via the unit has never been a real solid process in my mind. It's safer to actually not charge the battery via the unit, if I recall correctly..

Minidisc Player (MZ-NE410) keeps skipping songs. HELP!
Christopher replied to heartskullkid's topic in Software
Sounds like the buttons may be worn down, or perhaps something [dirt, etc] may be under the buttons and causing malfunction.. Welcome, btw. -
Hello, and welcome. Uninstall via the directions in the NetMD faq found in the NetMD forum [registry edits and all] and then install Sonicstage 2 ONLY [download links are available in the NetMD forum], not what came with your unit. Report back with how that works..
