  1. Welcome to the forums. Unfortunately, in this day and age, "cheapish" could mean anything. What's your exact budget?
  2. Most likely May alongside the US release. I think the product would be much more accessable initally in the US moreso than Canada, so you may want to import? I think alot of us are going to import, anyways.. Yes, you will be able to download music to your MD with a Hi-MD unit. from: http://minidisc.org/himd_mdcenter_news.html
  3. I think the Sharp IM-DR420 would suit you quite well. It runs for about 110 pounds in Europe, I believe. a place you can get it: http://www.richersounds.com/index.php?f=it...tl.php&p=301509 and more information about the actual unit: http://minidisc.org/part_Sharp_IM-DR400+DR...R410+DR420.html Have you heard about Hi-MD yet? I think that regular MD will suit you, but it's important you know of it. Welcome to the forums, too!

Since you have a non-NetMD recorder, all transfers between the PC and your unit will be in 1:1 realtime. There is no faster method available for this unit. After installing the link you would need to set it as your default sound device in the computer, and then slide the record button on the R909 [since it's digital, you won't have to worry about track marks or anything like that, maybe] and press play on whatever music-playback program you're employing. It won't start recording on the unit until it hears music, but make sure you at least slide the rec button before you play the music.
  5. Maybe you guys should leave feedback about each other in the relevant subforum.
  6. We are now on phpbb version 2.0.8a, up from 2.0.6. Board is much more secure, and seems a bit faster. Please PM me with any bugs that you may come across. Consolidated the archived news a bit, as well. Removed all "last edited messages".
  7. Are you referring to the radio remote that some MD units come with? If so, then no, it cannot record from that. You can however record from a standard radio..
  8. Max, have you read anything in this section at all? Please give this a read: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=4171 And download Sonicstage 2 and give that a shot.
  9. You've posted this in the wrong forum, I believe. Moving this to NetMD. Please try deleting this obsolete software and running Sonicstage 2. http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=4171 p.s. Welcome.
  10. Please please please read more in this section before posting. Read this: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=4171 And try Sonicstage 2. Then get back to us.
  11. This is probably due to you listening to music too loudly for a long period of time, which in turn has lead to degredation of the drivers within the headphones. Since they're fairly inexpensive, you might as well opt for new ones.
  12. It's not Sony's fault - they are merely obligating with a law that France has put in place to limit headphone outputs for portable music players in all of Europe.
  13. I am not so sure about this. I would await MDfreak's response, as he has actually used a test unit, and may be able to answer your question. If he doesn't respond, private message him. Welcome to the forums.
  14. I don't believe so. I think I recall reading what you spoke of, but I don't think it's possible with the R900. Do you have access to a MD deck?
  15. It might be the disc. I've read some unfavorable reviews of certain Maxell discs, and you may just have a bad batch. This is extremely rare, but most manufacturers have a lifetime warranty. I would try completely erasing the disc, re-record on it and try again. If that doesn't work, then send them back perhaps? What mode [sP, LP2, LP4] did you record on the Maxell disc?
  16. Production wise, this will save them thousands of dollars, though. If I was a head honcho and knew of this, I'd probably do the same thing. This is a total risk product, and probably future generations will have the better batteries. I am content with the specs. They aren't as attractive with previous efforts, but this is only the beginning. Plus, we know the truth and will attain higher battery life with more efficent batteries. Our only option? Spread the word to make sure everyone else knows. Great information, MDX.
  17. Honestly, if I were you, I'd import from another country. We've reached the point where shipping doesn't cost an arm and a leg anymore [in most cases] when coming from across the pond or the far east [in your case]. You must get a player with a digital amp. Period. Please catch up on this for me: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?p=19090 Honestly, the best player I've ever used is Kenwood's recent line of units [s33/55/77]. Featuring unrivaled sound [even compared to Sharp's offerings], great functionality [espesically with the remotes], unusual asthetics and a few other keen aspects, you really end up getting the most bang for the buck. I own the S55 myself, and feel free to check out the review here: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=4287 Anyway, there are other options, like the Sony E720 and the Sharp DS8/DS70. I think any of the aforementioned units will give you the best experience, moreso than your E10, at least in the sound sense. If I were you, I'd try http://www.audiocubes.com . p.s. If you're still a little unsure, what kind of music do you primarily listen to? I've reached the point where I can actually prescribe the right digital amp unit to someone based on their musical taste.
  18. I would definitely get the R50. How cheap is cheap? This unit is probably one of the best SP-only Minidisc units of all time, as it features great recording options and a true line out! The similiarities between it and the R37 are slim, but everyone seems to favor the R50 more. It's built like a tank, too..
  19. You cannot adjust anything in the EEPROM to get a higher output. All Sony Euro units are capped and it cannot be altered. Your options are to live with it, do your homework next time [not being mean, but seriously], buy a headphone amplifier, or buy a new unit. Sorry, and don't judge Minidisc on this one bad experience - there are alot of great MD products out there without this limitation.. Welcome to the forums.
  20. DmitryKo, you're most likely correct with your solution. Take a look at this, though: http://minidisc.org/himd_mdcenter_news.html konrad, the prices will fluctuate around the MSRP, but what you see is usually what you get. Have you had taxes and import charges with previous endeavors? I used to live in Ireland, but it's been so long since I have I've forgotten if you guys are susceptible to such. I'm sure that once it's available, Hi-MD won't put too big of a hole in your wallet if you buy it online.
  21. Unfortunately I do not. I suggest you e-mail the webmaster at webmaster@minidisc.org and see what he has to say.
  22. This information is available in our Equipment Browser. http://minidisc.org/manuals/sony/sony_mzne...e810_manual.pdf Welcome to the forums!
  23. The Sharp IM-DR420 [http://minidisc.org/part_Sharp_IM-DR400+DR410+DR420.html] will do you a world of good. I believe it's priced around 110 pounds in the UK. Fantastic unit.
  24. Actually, MDfreak confirmed it through his sources. I was waiting for him to announce it at T-Board.
  25. Indeed, I was saying a Sony HD digital amp is comprable to an Auvi [aka Sharp], but not one. The S-Master bit is interesting, it's prompted me to look into it further.. Welcome to the forums, btw.
