  1. You are most correct about your D33 and D55 assumption, as they are like a needle in a haystack and pretty much unobtainable commercially anywhere, except Japan. Go for the D22's. Welcome to the forums, btw.
  2. I would go with the D22's myself. My girlfriend seems quite content with them, and they seem to be a good "middle-class' headphone. There is another headphone in the eggo range that is much more popular though, and that's the MDR-D66. I own that, and the differences [comfort and sound wise] make the D22's seem like a waste of time. I believe that you'll be quite content with the D22's, regardless.
  3. We now have representatives from Minidisco [their forum is here] + Reactive Sounds [their forum is here] to give you assistance with related issues/inquiries in a reasonably steadfast manner. So, if you have a question related to either of the companies or products they list, give them a shout in the relevant forums! This is a great way for the consumer to have direct discussion with the e-tailer.
  4. Welcome to the forum, doosmac. Yes, it can hold any type of data file, and is not limited in that regard.
  5. Here's one way: Open the file in iTunes; highlight the songs that are in AAC, and go : Advanced > Convert selection to MP3.
  6. It's still on Preorder at the datavis.com website, Fray. I think you may be waiting a few weeks..
  7. Happy Hopping, I believe that you may notice a good difference between a recording made the the R3 and a hypothetical NH1 you'd own. jade pretty much answered your question, though.
  8. Encryption basically meaning that the recorded/encoded file cannot be manipulated by anything else except for the associated program(s). These files, with a *.hma extension, will most likely be just as difficult to decipher as the previous NetMD encrpytion. Your one statement, about being only able to play it in one player and such, that is not true. There are also no limits on "check-in" and "check-out" in Sonicstage II, the program [in a sense] that was made to interface with Hi-MD.
  9. Indeed, MWielage. Case and point, Aiwa was set to release a "streetstyle" headphone-type device which had flash memory and a built in AM/FM tuner. They had to eliminate the tuner because it was causing interference with the electronics. Whilst the internals of such a device and a MD player are quite different, the characteristics that would cause interference are the same.
  10. I changed the forum font to Arial, sans-serif. I hope that this change is okay with everyone. I did make a few other modifications, but a good number of these are for the moderating team and will not effect the users. I added a security feature as well, which protects user accounts; i.e. if you login incorrectly three times you will not be able to log in again for another 15 minutes. I will probably change this to half a hour or sixty minutes if I notice infractions are persistant. Honestly, I don't think we'll ever really run into any security issues here.. I also added a stop all-caps posting script, which will give you a warning if you compose a message with exessive caps. I am still tweaking this to make sure it doesn't become more of a nuisance than an actual benefit.
  11. I really think that to get the best selection, you'd have to go eBay, or find a store with a closeout deal when Hi-MD rolls around.
  12. I would just avoid charging the battery on the unit and charge the gumstick itself, with an independant charger. It's better in the long run. Try looking on eBay, they're quite easy to find there.
  13. Not sure about your question, but I do know that this isn't in the right forum. Moved
  14. Where do you live and what is your exact budget?
  15. Please upgrade to Winamp 5.0.3. What you need to do: relevant links: http://www.techworld.com/security/news/ind...cfm?NewsID=1343 http://www.nextgenss.com/advisories/winampheap.txt
  16. That's for the top of the line model. There are "budgeted" options as well, like jade stated, starting from $200.

    .exe >>>MD

Welcome to the forums. Unfortunately, you cannot do this with your MD unit, nor any MD unit in it's generation. I assume you haven't heard of the new Hi-MD format? This new line of units gives the functionality your seeking with one gigabyte Hi-MD discs [same size as a regular MD], and can also format a pre-existing MD disc to hold data and music, but those discs are only compatible with Hi-MD units. faq: http://minidisc.org/hi-md_faq.html new units: http://minidisc.org/himd_table.html Also, please check out our Hi-MD forum for relevant discussion, and please try "search"ing for information before asking questions, as we have covered alot of topics before.
  18. You could have to purchase a new remote. The only place, besides eBay, that sells this remote [RM-MZ1T], is audiocubes. http://www.audiocubes.com/product_info.php...products_id=204 Unfortunately, they charge more than what this unit would go for new on eBay. Your best bet is to scout eBay for this remote and/or low-priced MZ-G750 auctions. p.s. Welcome to the forums.
  19. Are you referring to the radio remote?
  20. That's simply not true about the release date. I know 100% for sure that it's May, since I was getting a quote off the internal product pages and not the press release. They tried to pull that on me, but I wouldn't have it. Next time you call, ask them to get specifics off the internal product pages or ask to talk to a "product specialist".
  21. I would suggest calling them on Monday.
  22. First off, welcome to the forums Mashinkun + jay_zhead. I am most familiar with that site, and I recall looking at the same exact listing last month. It was "in stock" then, as well. I promise you that they do not have this unit in stock, it is impossible.
  23. Yes Alan, that would work. Although, do you find yourself needing 6 feet of cord? Welcome to the forums, btw.
  24. Good recommendation, A440. Although I'm not sure about the Sharp units being rare on eBay, as I always see a good bit. I would definitely recommend a newer-generation unit like the Sharp DR7, if you could find one in that price range. I think actorlife actually has one for sale in our MarketPlace section. There are also other and older Sharp units to recommend, but it'd be a tedious search and probably not worth the effort. Sticking to more-common units like A440 recommend is probably your best bet. Also, have you heard about the new Hi-MD format, crow? It offers much better functionality than the current MD format. Since you're not travelling till Summer, you may want to wait just a short while and get one of those units. Something like the MZ-NH700 would suit you quite well. http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NH700.html
  25. Yes, breepee [and please don't use such language next time, thx], but if his work is predominately in radio and what I can assume voice recordings, would such bitrates be necessary? The average radio broadcast is quite low in the bitrate sense. You need to read the context of the post before making such brash statements.
