  1. There is an option in the menu to turn quick-mode off (so you don't have to take the disc out).
  2. What version of SonicStage are you using?
  3. Yes, with the N707 you can be holding pause down while you slide the record switch on. I used to have the N707 and that is how I have always done it. There is no need to try to do them at the same time, just be sure you are holding pause down while you hit record. Also, A440 if I recall correctly there is no need to hold the menu button down for a few seconds to enter menu on the older netMD units, including the N707. I had also thought that pressing downward on the little control dial on the N707 was STOP which would make you exit the menu... I thought left and right on the dial moved between menu choices. I could be wrong, haven't used the N707 in awhile, but you may want to double check it. Also, the ENTER button on the N707 is actually the PLAY button as well, which is pressing in the control dial...

    MD Pouch

Nice! That's very nifty, I'll have to get ahold of one of those too!
  5. Could very well be a corrupted install somehow... I would go ahead and try a reinstall following the directions here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8071 (so as to actually delete all traces) When reinstalling be sure you have everything closed durng the install, including anti-virus, etc.

    Hi-MD + Mac

There are 3 units that currently allow uploads to Mac - MZ-M10, MZ-M100, MZ-R1. The recordings have to be in Hi-MD mode. With any of those units, you could simply run an optical/digital line from your MDS-JB940 to the optical-in on the portable and record in your desired format (PCM/Hi-SP/Hi-LP). This would be realtime recording, but they could then be uploaded. Does your mac have a digital/optical TOSlink input? If so you could just run the optical out from your deck directly to your mac and use a program like the freeware Audacity to record.
  7. Check "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\SonicStage\Packages" (and subfolders) to be sure that there are no copies of the tracks already there for some reason. How long are the tracks you are trying to transfer?
  8. Approximately how long does SonicStage go before it stops? You could try a different USB port and see if that helps anything... You're not using a USB hub are you? EDIT: By the way, what are your system specs?
  9. WEll this happened the other day, but I got out of my car and shut the door while my E900 & remote were still hooked up. The door slammed on the remote and broke the LCD screen and stop button.
  10. BTW, SP = ~292kbps if I recall correctly.
  11. Should work... I know having the unit plugged into the AC adapter thingy without the battery in works fine. I've no idea how long it would last with the charger thing though. EDIT: The only thing I would worry about doing this is the fact that if the unit thinks it's running off of AC (which it would if you are using the charger without the LIP-4WM in the unit) it may not try to save power in order to be sure it can write the system file.. So you could lose your recording, in theory.
  12. I updated mine this morning and didn't have any problems. As long as you don't uninstall the previous kernel (it keeps it by default and it should be listed in your grub menu) you can go back to the previous one if things dont work.
  13. My RM-MC11EL remote that I use with my MZ-E900 got semi-crushed (shut in a car door), the LCD display is shot and the stop button fell off... Anyway I'm lookinhg for a replacement to buy or possibly trade. Thanks!
  14. The RH1 is a good choice if you do alot of actual live recording (RH1 remembers manual record levels), or if you have legacy discs (SP/LP2/LP4) lying around with older recorded material, as the RH1 can upload these (not NetMD discs made with SonicStage though). As far as playback, the RH1 has a digital amp but lacks title/artists display on the main unit (shown on remote instead). Also it can playback Mp3 files directly, and is Mac-compatible.
