  1. Set replaygain's mode to 'track' (prefernces - playback). Try also to adjust preamp of files with rg info. I don't know if this method works woth fileconverter but it works when playing.
  2. foobar2000. Add replaygain info to files and set its diskwriter to use replaygain info.
  3. Hi-LP sucks. LP2 is acceptable if you have cheap head phones, but anything under it sucks heavily.
  4. No, no, no. LP2 souns better than hi-lp, not better than hi-sp.
  5. Lp2 has the advantage that it takes less space than hi-sp and gives better sound quality than hi-lp.
  6. They don't need to stole anybody's technique because they are in control of their own formats and drm.
  7. 600 isn't mentioned because the American version doesn't have line-in (European version does have). 700 isn't mentioned because it isn't available in the states.
  8. 'OMA' in that article stands for 'Open Mobile Alliance'. Sony's 'OMA' means 'Open MG Audio' in which MG refers to 'Magic Gate' which is Sony's own protocol used when transferring data. All in all, Sony's drm has nothing to do with that article.
  9. I can abx hi-sp from original, but hi-sp is completely fine for everyday listening. I claim that a sample sound shit when I can tell it from original without abx'ing. On the other hand, I don't believe those guys who claim to able to tell hi-sp from original wihtout proper abx'ing. Their behaviour is caused by so called blacebo effect
  10. 64 kbps : shit 256 kbps : OK lpcm : overkill
  11. This is a little bit old thread but I just discovered that nh900's remote's 'p mode' works as 't mark' when recording.
  12. It does produce some motor noise when you turn it on or seek.
  13. You should remember http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....26976&hl=atrac3
  14. I'd say LP2 ~ Lame mp3 96 ~ other mp3 128 See also http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=24735 and http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....=26976&hl=atrac
  15. When you have 'edit' flashing on the screen, you are actually on the menu. To navigate, you need to spin the wheel around the control stick or to press the stick up or down. When you want to select something, just "click" the stick.
  16. When I first put a battery in my nh900 and inserted the blank disc, which came with it, there was no way to get into menus, but I just pressed rec and recorded for 10 seconds, and alas, everything started to work.
  17. Record something (hit rec) and it'll work. At least my nh900 was "cured" by it.
  18. Somebody should contact Connect.com's support and inform them.
  19. Even Sony gives you that information http://www.sony.net/Products/Hi-MD/capacity.html#3
  20. I assume that you mean 30 fahrenheits. That's nothing. Most of my gear has been in my pocket in -20 C weather (-4 fahrenheit) and nothing has happened. Plastic cables do become weaker but that isn't really serious because I don't use my über-expensive Sennheisers when it's so cold.
  21. I'm afraid that using "What you hear" will result in extra sample rate conversions because Audigy 2 doesn't have native support for 44.1 kHz.
  22. Reason six: You are copying RHCP or Andrew W.K. whose tracks are recorded so loud that your player or headphones will clip.
