PSP's specs mention that it supports AES MagicGate. So AES it shall be. See http://www.us.playstation.com/consoles.aspx?id=4

No. There haven't been any OLED based mp3 players. They are all LCD.

PCM doesn't require any kind of horse power because you can feed it to dac as is.

Have You Seen Any 128 Bit Keys In Ss's Files?
Latexxx replied to Latexxx's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
No. I didn't meant brute forcing it. SS must save its keys somewhere and those keys can be extracted somehow. -
Sony's PSP page has the following: "Security: (Encryption) 128bit AES (Copyright protection technology) MagicGate™" Apparently this means that the infamous MagicGate used by Hi-MD etc uses 128 bit AES algo. So if we could find some 128 bit keys in SS's files, it could be possible to do some un-drm'ing.

I wouldn't. The compression artifacts bother me much more than noise which isn't really a problem with good reception. Some links. Freeview vs. DAB FM vs. DAB
-
He means that it isn't possible to "recover" hi-md formatted discs back to standard mode without having a hi-md recorder.
-
I would just use analog out. Difference isn't really significant.

Generally speaking, FM is better than DAB if you can get hissless reception. Actually DAB sucks so severely that it was completely decided to shut down in Finland three weeks ago. DAB suffered from a chicken and egg problem here: there were no commercial radio broadcasters utilising DAB, so nobody wanted to buy a radio. And on the other hand, nobody wanted to broadcast because there were no listeners and broadcasting in digital besides analog creates additional costs. N.b. In Britain it is cheaper to broadcast in analog and digital than on analog only. This due to license fees.

Hush! Digital amp is really a hoax. Having a digital amp means that there is no amp. I.e. the dac itself is powerful enough to drive phones.

To get Atrac into PSP you need Magic Gate Memory Stick Duo and Sonic Stage to transfer the files.
-
Use the remote. That's what I do.

It is likely that Connect.com will use the new SS asap.

PCDP = Portable CD Player DAP = Digital Audio Player (ie mp3 player or PCDP) -
It depends. In Finland, for example, the price limit for a "gift" is €45.

Why on earth do you run 98 on that machine? Upgrading to xp would only bring you benefits (no more blue screens etc).

If you order it outside of EEA, you'll need to pay customs fee & vat when it arrives. So it is best to go back to local Sony retailer with the model number.

Can you see red light coming from your cable?

I've noticed that the pocket has a strong influence on skipping. If I wear trousers which allow the player to swing in 50 cm arches, there is no change of avoiding skipping. But if I secure the player somewhere or use a smaller pocket, it skips hardly ever when running.

At least to my knowledge SS wraps the mp3 files into drm when transferring to mp3 supporting player, not when importing into SS. So you can have only one copy of mp3 files on your hd.

Some facts: - Current Hi-MD models have stickers on them which say "Hi-MD audio" - Manuals state that the disc are playable in units marked with "Hi-MD audio" or "hi-MD" - Sony has been approved to use MagicGate Type-R for Hi-MD when it comes to recording video content equipped with broadcast flag in dtv/hdtv. See http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/atta...OC-250532A1.pdf
