right click on the mp3 in file manager or desktop. check the bitrate [kbs], chanels & sample rate [khz] if can you playback the file in other software tell us what.

1) The MZ RH10 and the MZNH700 are both second generation Hi-MD. rh10 is 2nd generation as is the RH710 not nh700 which is a gen one model 2) SS 3.2 work with any generation Hi-MD Recorder? yes 3) The ads say they the models above offer "Direct Playback of MP3 files". So, I can choose to manage my music collection in WinAMP (heavin forbid?); and use SonicStage to seemlessly TRANSFER (NOT TRANSCODE) these MP3's onto minidisks. the 2nd gen will transfer mp3s straight over 4) Sonic Stage and other MP3 players (ie WinAMP) can share the same music library without 'owning it'; and I'll still be able to use WinAMP to access my MP3 files after I install SS (although I know it can't play anything I convert into ATRAC). yes. i'd just import stuff into sonicstage on a per usage basis 5) Transcoding from MP3 format to ATRAC is BAD; sound quality is poor. depends on the bitrate of the sourcefile. a higher bitrate mp3 will give a better atrac file. 6) Transcoding from FLAC or other lossless formats to ATRAC is not currently possible. WMA lossless is supported as is wav.

do upgrade to 3.2 - it'll give you a few significant improvements see this fairly long thread, re-share the discovery all over again. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=11311 as for the registration i assume you mean with my sony at sony.com.au? it wont work as the 2nd generation of himd is not yet in stock here

duely bookmarked. leon keep something for us & alc - your opinion is always worthwhile. *edit* i love the mix of design & comment with whismical personal narrative. i'll be reading voraciously.

jwbry, we'd all apreciate it if you get the time - please post a screenshot of the program in action. mac fiends here may have your children.

tbh i don't use sonicstage for anything but transfer duties so i'm not effected by this. have you tried reporting it to sony? perhaps with the drm disapearing in sonicstage 3.2 i might trust it enough to use as a media centre? time will tell i guess. anone seen a solution to this? my off hand suggestion is to play the omg files in WMP

atrain replied to Slava Hero's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
they'll work with the new himds although they aren't 100% compliant. perhaps someone can tell you how many of the buttons perform the correct corresponding actions. -

scandy taxes are a lot sharper though kuris, there's a lot more to be gained by charging on every package sent. in australia i've never had a problem on 50+ packages. yes i'm a shut in who buys all electronics, clothes & shoes on the internet...

they're linked in all but registration - same users, same ethos, dif. databse.
