  1. This issue has been fixed for Firefox version 1.5.0.1.
  2. Was down on a beach camping near the great ocean road myself for new years eve, It was a hot 37C... until a monsoon came in pretty heavily at about 9 am. All our camp gear got soaked through... but the rain was great for clearing our hangovers at least. We followed the storms back to Melbourne, where it continued to pelt down for the rest of the day. (As luck would have it, it was fine weather the next day!) That's the weather for you in this neck of the woods - sometimes unpredictable, to say the least. But the beach was really beautiful, definatley worth the extremes of climate, even if I was only down there for a night. And now the weather is sooo hot again - I don't think it got below 27C the other night - far too hot to sleep comfortably. It's somewhat cooler now, but the mercury's tipped to go back up to 40 again on thursday!
  3. It's like talking to a robot!
  4. A 1TB disc would almost defeat the purpose of removable media, so to speak. Well... maybe not, but you would never need to change discs...
  5. That is pretty gross... You'd think hospitals would keep their equipment sterile!
  6. O/T - Dex I would argue your assumption to be correct - both SonicStage and Simpleburner require the OpenMG Secure Module - that's where all the nitty gritty audio encoding takes place - SonicStage and Simpleburner are just front ends. To that end, you can actually uninstall SonicStage, and Simpleburner will function perfectly provided you don't uninstall the OpenMG Modules as well.
  7. When I'm tired, I'm more sensitive to sound (and light)... Perhaps you're just a bit sleepy at the end of the day?
  8. You might also what to try looking at some Etymotics - the ER6is have been recomended in the past - great for portable listening as they are easy to drive. Or if you're sitting on a pile of cash, you could get the flagship ER4Ps - they're listed for $249 US on audiocubes.com. I'm getting the er6is soon, can't wait to hear what these buds sound like!
  9. Guys, he's using an N910 not the RH910 (as opposed to the old-skool R910). Gawd, Sony's nomenclature is confusing! Anyway, it's NetMD only - your MP3 tracks will be converted to ATRAC3. Ok Fedji, do you still get this problem when: (i) You transfer music in the ATRAC3 (OpenMG) format in SonicStage (ii) Ripping a CD directly in MD Simpleburner? (iii) When you record from a real-time (optical/analogue) source? Also, have you tried reinstalling SonicStage as per the guidelines in the Software fora?
  10. Well these do look suspiciously like the Sharp MD33s. Another clone, like creative did perhaps?
  11. QUOTE: A 128 kb/sec mp3 file is over twice the size of a 128 kb/sec atrac3plus file... I'm sorry, I don't know where you are pulling that from, but a 128kbps mp3 file is exactly the same size as a 128kbps ATRAC3plus file. You are encoding the same track each time?
  12. I vote for this thread to be stickied - it's essential for anyone with or considering purchasing Sharp portables.
  13. I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but what did you do your thesis on, Volta?
  14. Sold my MZ-E620 to leaf. Payment recieved without a hitch. Even though I needed a little time to send out the unit in the busy period leading up to christmas, leaf was patient and understanding. Would definatley have no qualms about selling to him again. Great buyer!
  15. If you have a deck that supports scale factor edit, you can also add fade-ins and fade-outs, or pump the volume up/down post recording, in addition to the usual divide/combine track edits. This is done on the unit though, not with SonicStage.
  16. Yep, that's right. What happens is that SonicStage will convert the WAV to an ATRAC LP2 bitrate, and then send that to the unit. The unit will then decode that LP2 data into SP mode. So yes, you get SP data on your minidisc, but at LP2 quality. You got it, it's madness.
  17. If your car head unit can only play SP mode, you will get a lot better sound quality if your record your music in real-time using the unit. This is because SonicStage can only handle LP mode data, and when you use SonicStage to record an SP disc, you end up getting LP2 quality (132kbps) at the same bitrate as SP (292). It's like converting your 128kbps MP3s to FLAC - crap in, crap out. It sounds like a hassle I know, with all your music on your PC, but you'll find that SonicStage is pretty slow at writing SP mode discs, not much faster than realtime anyway - that's because all the encoding to SP is done by your unit and not the software. It's an issue all we die-hard MDers have been complaining about ever since the PC-connectable MDs (NetMD) arrived on the scene. It's been rectified with Hi-MD (the latest format), but that's a different kettle of fish. I would recommened realtime recording with your unit, either digitaly (via an optical cable - connected to a DVD player, CD deck, or PC soundcard - if your soundcard even supports optical out), or through an analogue input (from your PC if you want!). The input jack on your unit will accept both digital/analogue. Usually, if you record, with a DVD player or CD deck, the digital signal will sometimes take care of trackmarks for you, otherwise you will need to add them manually post recording. Once you've done the recording, you can use SonicStage or Simpleburner (the NetMD software) to title your tracks. I'm not sure whether you will notice the quality difference in the car, but it's worth a shot. Another option open to you. And yes, I too do like the smallness factor of MD. Let us know how this works out.
  18. Ok, insane thread, i know... but it's sooooo HOT right now. 39 at the moment and it's predicted to go up all the way to 42 (107.6 Fahrenheit) tomorrow. It makes life rather uncomfortable round here... I think i'm just gonna go to the beach somewhere and refuse to come out of the water until it cools down to tolerable temperatures.
  19. You seriously mean you'll go and choke the boss of MDCF's hosting company if they don't give us more bandwith?
  20. I would have thought that the backend OpenMG Modules shared between the two apps would easily facilitate the support of Net/HiMD in the new Connect Player. Any idea why Sony aren't moving to support MD with the new software?
  21. Other than that, the two are exactly the same. Think of Type-S as a subset of Type-R. Both of them encode SP-mode discs using the Type-R codec, but with Type-S the PLAYBACK of MDLP tracks will sound better.
  22. Perhaps you could add it the downloads section, but under a new category of "old/outdated software".
  23. WOW! You sure have a great collection of some nice looking units bland!
  24. Sounds like a great buy for $20. And the two-year warranty is music to my ears. About time manufacturers got behind their products.
  25. Ishii, I have the latest M-Crew, but it's a version specific to CMT-333NT. I'm pretty sure the latest generic version can be found on the M-Crew Website here: http://www.sony.net/Products/homeaudio/m_c..._mcrew_win.html
