Anyone know where I can get a new EH70 if possible. Preferably in Blue or Black. I'm looking for a reasonable price, but willing to shell out the cash. Please PM me or reply here if you have a new one to offer or know where to look. Thanks for looking. UPDATE I've decided that I don't actually need another unit right now, it was kind of splurge of the moment thing. Instead I will spend the money on more unique blanks and lip-4wm batteries and perhaps a mc40elk remote. Thanks to everybody who helped me out.

I could see what they can change from the previous versions. My RH1 has minor bugs and glitches. But do you think they would provide a method to upgrade the firmware?
-
Lol, reading this is funny. I can still tell red from green, but sometimes it is hard to tell. The worst for me is blue and purple. I can barely tell the difference.
-
Red letters on green background gives off a very weird but real 3D image for me. Might have to do with my colour blindness.
-
Lmao, what is that made of? Oh, I know it's a diamond shaped into a screw, painted black.
-
Perhaps through service mode. I don't think there would be firmware updates though.
-
The source was going to be a RH1, but I came to my senses and told myself I didn't need one. That amp you mentioned looks nice though. I might just get a portable amp just for the sake of it. Do you think the SQ would improve on the RH1 with a good amp?
-
So the PMX-100 and PX-100 sound exactly the same? I would like to try either of them out.
-
It's a bit hard to understand you, but I think you must have plugged the RH1 in before the drivers were installed. Just try another USB port it should work. Are you sure that is the source of error?

That touch-table-computer-thingy looks cool. Looks like the one in Minority Report but on a table.

That looks like fun. Oh, lol, I thought the Solio thing was a joke, turns out its real.

HA, turns out it was the................. once again the RIBBON cable to the screen, it broke. I guess Sony is just plagued by ribbon cable issues (MZ-N1). Oh, and the other phone, well the technician say it was just bad timing. Should have bought a lottery ticket, oh wait I can't...

I think I will get as many different MDs as possible, for like a collection. I mean this is history in the works!

Lets just say if I were to get a headphone amp, would it just make things sound worse and introduce noise, or would it sound even better? 'Cause after hanging out at the Head-Fi forums I think I've caught the headphone amp bug. Anyone has experience with headphone amps such as the cmoy or Tomahawk or Supermini IV, etc? I think there is always room for improvement.

I think PCM is overkill, I can hear the difference, but it is so insignificant that it won't matter. Much like weighing yourself and then a bug hops onto the scale. But do atleast try it once. I think 352kbps is the perfect bitrate for high quality sound in less space than PCM. The difference between Hi-SP(256kbps) and PCM is noticeable, so I try to limit it to tracks that aren't as important, but do note that I never go below 256, can't stand it.

I don't own a RH910, but from my previous experience with the N510 and my RH1, they produce very little hiss if any at all. The hiss is so little that you have to listen to it during midnight where everything is quite and you have a very quite soundtrack. Even then you can just barely, barely hear it.

I actually feel a bit depressed right now. But its good to know that SonyStyle Canada still has it up for sale. I'm going to stock up on blanks and maybe buy a play only unit. What about Japan? Is it still in production or for sale?

Ahh, I know exactly what you are talking about. So I'm assuming they give out wireless receivers to you if you have bad hearing. And you just plug headphones into the receiver to listen. What you could do is get a cable that goes from the wireless receiver to your RH1's line in to record. Or use quality mics with a battery box and record via line in to your RH1. I would think that using mics would give better results. I highly doubt the wireless receivers are of quality. Edit: reading over your post again, it sounds like you are going to record with a mic with the source being what the headphones produce, that would be a horrible idea. And I don't think that mic you have is ideal for live recording.

I don't think you grasp the concept of what a USB interface is. Maybe telling you the acronym would help, USB stands for Universal Serial Bus meaning it is like a port that can be used for transferring anything (from any kind of information to electrical power), hence universal. The R-55 does not have such an interface and any adapters would not make it magically work. I think the best option to go would be to upgrade to Hi-MD or at least a Net-MD recorder.

I don' think he means he wants to use both at the same time, he's just stating there are two. And most likely it is a seperate in and out.
-
Yeah, I didn't quite get that too. Isn't the DAC where it goes from digital signal to analogue then straight to headphone/line-out? And then before the DAC there would be a decoder/processing unit?

RH1's are made in Malaysia. But truthfully told imho - despite what I've said, I think Japan has better QC.

Thanks for the help guys, helped a lot. So those SP-BMC2 seem pretty nice, but I forgot about the battery box so I guess I'll go with an attenuator. Edit: Scratch that, I'll still get a battery box, but one question, do I need bass roll-off?

The PengAmp looks professionally done.

Is there a good mic that would be easy to get in stores? I would like to get one soon for recording a live rock performance, because it is only in a few days (5) so I can't wait for shipping. And I would prefer to record in stealth. If I must resort to the internet then I would still consider it for recording in the future. Thanks.
