What you are describing is what is normal. That is what is supposed to happen. Whereas in my case and others, we are getting these ridiculous "Low Battery" messages and the blinking battery does not show up and refuses to charge.
-
I also think that a MD with a HD Digital amp would actually sound better. Kanako have you ever tried hooking up your MD to a sound system?

Do different battery types affect output sound?
Sparda replied to pgross's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
From what I know too low of a voltage only affects flash memory. Supposedly corrupts the data, but don't take my word for it. -
I am quite curious about the tweaks you have done, care to share how to prolong laser life? And the "Low Battery" issue is exactly same as my.
-
All I can say is try BT, I can't be more specific. Try Googling that keyword.
-
Interesting how you can go from a flash interface to HDD with a simple PC board.

Just want to point out that it is 6 frequency bands. And not all Sony Hi-MD units have the custom EQ, the preset ones I wouldn't know, or you could hack your unit for custom EQ.

Maybe she already is part of MDFC... you never know...

Hmm, if only they made new Hi-MD discs, I would buy some for sure. Nice pics btw.

If you don't mind there is an eBay seller selling it for real cheap. In the UK I really wouldn't know. And don't mind the typo, they happen all the time.

The RH1 hasn't been out all that long. But from the looks of it, I think it will do fine. I only know that the N1 had serious problems with the ribbon cable. I think Sony has learned from their old mistakes, well I hope so.

That's what I'm beginning to feel with my, although I still try to keep it in top shape. At first I was so paranoid with it...
-
But in the end your battery is still getting charged? I haven't been having this problem as often now, but it still occurs from time to time. I have observed that the connection between the cable and mini-b port is very loose and thus sometimes comes partially unconnected, this leads to the bars not showing. But other things affect charging too, such as temperature and how dis/charged the battery is. So far its just annoying but not a main concern. I wish they had a cover for the usb port too, there's some dust in my.

Congrats on finding MD. Have you upgraded to SonicStage 4.2 CP? It allows more flexibility over previous versions. IIRC it is available in the downloads section. Or search for SS 4.2 CP.

I have always thought that MD was 16bit.

Why minidisc use is prohibitied during take off/landing?
Sparda replied to riotshield's topic in The Loft
I remember seeing this show before where they tested using electronic devices of all sorts and nothing happened. I think it was because the frequencies used in that plane was 2.4ghz so they were not affected. Also the cables were shielded. Do note that this was a modern business jet they tested in. But I guess you really wouldn't want to risk it would you? -
I don't recall saying that it is. I said that the N10 and N910 are NetMD. whatsleftofj mentioned the R900 which is not NetMD, so I mentioned the R909.
-
Since it doesn't work for NetMD recordings then I guess this is pointless.
-
If you insist on that model then there is no way around it. However going to Hi-MD recorder or player only units can be beneficial. And that model you are looking at is a play only unit, it doesn't record in anything via anything. And I think it is not even Net-MD so you are kinda stuck.

I'm also using Firefox 2.0.0.1, and I can do and see all the things you said. Could it be an extension that doesn't interact well? Try disabling them all first.
-
Try not to double post. From what I understand you have tried to go from a R500 to a R900 but failed and instead changed something else. Thus your volume is now lower, I suppose you changed the output values by accident. What you need is the service manual for the R500 which is in the other thread you have posted. Just change the values back and it should work wonderfully.

Whats wrong with the wire the remote has? Doesn't your headphones have wires? And replacing the remote instead of the unit itself is a way better solution. I don't think they are trying to improve their sales on remotes. As for why the RH1 doesn't display title information I am just dumbfounded.

These graphs really don't say much. You could transfer the same song twice via optical in and it would should up differently.
-
Ahh, the NW-HD1... I once thought of using that over a MD but still stuck with it. It is a work of art, should have gotten one when I had the chance. I like the fact that it can store 20GB worth of music and still not sound like crap, and it supports ATRAC. I liked the old styles Sony had for their Walkmans, what happened? They are now all ugly looking *sigh*.
-
Just throwing it in there and guessing, perhaps the one made by SonicStage sounds different is because of your soundcard? Doesn't matter if it is a good one or not, the point is maybe there is a setting that is affecting the sound? And if Optical In sounds better, then by all means... just use it!
