In short, yes. lol... I buy screen protectors sold for palm pilots, then I cut a square to fit the DH10P screen. -
The DH10P Review by The Blue Raja

So glad to be of help!! This is a great model. The only downside I have discovered over time is the batter life is pretty lame in comparison to other MD players... but if you have a spare battery, and/or use the cradle, it shouldn't really be an issue I would think. -
Hey, welcome to the board, nephilim3. You should try importing a pic that DOES work on the player to your PC, then using a graphic program like Photoshop, INSERT the photo that doesn't work into the existing file (keeping the original frame size, etc the same), and just paste it on top, then RE-save the image. If your image is too big for the existing frame, you'll have to shrink it down to fit the current frame to your liking. Try that, bro.

but noooo- I'M the little guy! Good point.

These type of acts sicken me... reminds me of when I almost bought a dream house to live in, only to be outbid by an INVESTOR... It's no wonder Sony would jack the price back up after realizing people were making PROFITS off of their units. Meanwhile the 'little guy' who wants to enjoy the product for a great price misses out. I would have bought 2 units as spares.

At least they HAD it??
-
oohhhh ok... well, then I'll stick with 4.0 - thanks!
-
Ok, just to make sure I understand correctly... If I download 4.2, and rip a CD to 132k ATRAC, then transfer at same rate to an MD disc, it will actually sound better than usual? (on my md player not on the PC) (Is DSEE something you 'engage' or check off during the rip process as an option?) Thanks, this is very important for me to know, however I'm very happy that Sonic Stage 4.0 has been working for me perfectly... so I certainly don't want to download anything that could possibly be buggy. Thanks.

Sorry, I didn't mean to turn you off the DH10P, it's still a wonderful model, and it has many many pros, I just recently have been more into other units. And I wouldn't count on any more new MD releases from Sony anymore. So get what you like now, and while you can.
-
I currently have 2 cons against the DH10P 1 - I have had SEVERAL units that after a while the area to the right of the screen gets kind of sensitive where if you press your thumb there (like when holding it) it will suddenly REBOOT the machine. If you plan to use a remote I suppose it wouldn't be an issue as much. But I fear the soft tiny important buttons may end up getting the NH900 syndrome, but I'm only speculating. 2 - Battery life. If that's important for you, it SUCKS on the DH10P... about 1/3 life of like the EH1 or NH900 The DH10P however does sound spectacular, as all the digital amp-based units. Hope that helps. I still surprisingly use it for the CAMERA a lot! Weird, but it's convenient and beats cell phone cams any day.

Yeah, I just got two of these recently and was rather sad to find out they were all PLASTIC... I mean by the pics I thought the casing was metal. However, it was cool to find a CLEAR window in the back

Before I sold my RH10 and my battery door was getting more and more loose, I just used a small piece of electric tape to keep it secure... if your door can still FIT the slot and hold a battery in, you might want to try this in the meantime. I would make a small FOLD at the end of the tape so it could be easily peeled back if I needed to swap out a battery.

Can these TDK pros be bought anywhere NOW?? I take it since they're only 60min they are old... I'd rather have 74 or 80min, but I still love the look... if anyone knows where to buy them, please post a LINK!! Thanks
-
Oh I agree on the need for 'watermarking,' but I found his last one less distracting.
-
Meanwhile Audiocubes.com still sells the DH10P for the bargain price of $489.00
-
Those discs look beautiful, but I think your logo is a little much. I thought at first the TDK's came with that flower design.
-
Oh, yeah, sorry to keep you all in the dark... I tend to assume people here also read the Audio T-Board stuff... Here's the thread:The Blue Raja uses a REMOTE now
-
Yeah, I was actually just checking out Amazon Japan - and they have TONS of rare color/artsy blank minidiscs... supposedly they "ship worldwide" but when I tried to buy a player, during the checkout process it said they wouldn't do it.
-
Thanks, Ishiyoshi, those look pretty cool. I'll show them to her when I get a chance, she may like the MZ-E610 but I'm not sure where I'd FIND that model... but I also think she's now focused on the MZ-EH50... yes, I know I didn't say HI-MD, but she loves the look of that model and the price is so close to these legacy players that it really doesn't make a difference, and she can use it as a legacy player if she wants (Net-MD standard discs only). Besides... some day she won't care for it anymore... and guess who will get it then?
-
Thanks buddy! Actually after she saw these pics she doesn't like it anymore due to the metallic cast (which the Audiocubes pics didn't really show)... it's not a TRUE pink like the cradle. Anyway, I'll continue the hunt then for a good pink NetMD player....
-
My daughter may want this model (pink), but NO pics seem to exist on line that show the BACK of the unit... I'm assuming it has BUTTONS somewhere on the body itself? Curious if anyone here could shed light on this. Also, it takes the 10WM gumsticks... would a 14WM work or be bad for it? Thanks in advance.

Cool, well while the "off topic" police aren't looking, we can turn this into a Coke thread! I think your different tastes are part of the physical AURA that is part of any dining experience... ever notice how people go to the same restaraunt and have a completely different experience? Just kidding, I think you're right actually - oh well, bad analogy I guess.
-
I'm beginning to think we're all worried about NOTHING. When I journeyed to Europe this past summer I saw several different looks for a Coca-Cola bottle. Still the same company and product. I think all these batteries are fine despite subtle differences in the label. This thread is starting to repeat itself. "These batteries are fine" "I heard they explode" "This one looks different" "These batteries are fine" "I heard they explode" We get the point. Either spend more money and feel "secure", or find the cheapest deal and move on.

Hi-MD decks/bookshelf systems: Onkyo X-B7/B8/N7/N9 etc.

"streets ahead"... never heard that expression. I like it!
