  1. I'm sorry, but I'm totally confused... when I get to the service MODE of my NH900, these are my 'choices' to change: 006 1 0000 0 R_0005 006 N20000 005 N10000 006 N 0000 WHERE in all of that am I supposed to enter "113", or use the US code "21" ??
  2. Oh, I use DISCOGS, buddy... where do you think I get all my techno vinyl shots? (Ironically, I'm the one who supplied many of my rare techno vinyl scans to Discogs to begin with - lol)
  3. Oh it really doesn't matter these icons are so small... and I've found that the 'full screen' album art mode always looks kinda crappy, so anything you use BIG or small will still be compressed to a tiny small square. I get most of my album artwork by doing a quick Google Image search
  4. I meant to post an instructional thread on how to do this, but no one seemed interested so I didn't bother . At any rate, the quickest way for me is to make dummy folders with SMALL, SHORT sound files in them for the quickest transfer... what do I use? IMPORT-> SOUND -> C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA ding, tada, recycle, start, etc... Those windows sounds are very short & quick (and will always be at your fingertips if you have a PC). So I make like 6-10 folders, each with just ONE sound in them (you have to name each folder or "artist" name differently so they don't all import to one single folder. THEN, do all your album/artist naming in Sonic Stage still on the Hard Drive, and NOT on the MD itself (this will be quicker as the access time to your Sonic Stage changes are handled much faster than your USB data change rate on the MD itself. Once all the album art is on the 'ding', 'tada', etc. folders and you've named the albums & artists, then TRANSFER them all to your MD.... Keep in mind if your MD disc only has like 2MB left or whatever, this may be a problem.... I've found out the hard way, where the transfer SEEMED to work, and the album art APPEARED to be on the MD via Sonic Stage, but once I took the disc out & put it into my DH10P, it was GONE. So there needs to be some breathing room on the MD (I'm just guessing at least 6MB). Once the transfer is done, move all the music files from the OLD folders on the MD to the new folders w/ the artwork... then, delete all the old folders AND the temporary sound files ("tada", "chord," "ding," etc.)... remember to delete those LAST, or you'll lose your folders.
  5. Hey all of you stop talking about me. (just kiddin)
  6. Stuge & I got our DH10Ps at etronics.com. They even have extended warranty services
  7. Mine came with non-LCDs... I think the LCD remote is too ashamed next to the DH10P's color display
  8. The black cost twice as much, so no, and the red has got to be completely extinct, or maybe was a concept that was never released?? Either way, I wouldn't care for red. I own 2 silver.
  9. ... I thought Sony has discontinued MD in Australia completely.
  10. First, thanks for all the praise, Ray. Second, I must admit in hindsight that I actually wish I never STARTED labeling. I recall someone saying on the T-board a long time ago (possibly in my thread) that he thinks MD discs look too cool to begin with to cover them up. I love the look of a blank MD before I add a sticker, I must say... I should have made labels for my slip cases, but I don't like that coz I like having the sleeves interchangable. I think I also feel less juiced about the labels due to my DH10P, which has the artwork INSIDE the disc, on the screen At any rate, I'll still admit it's fun designing these, just like when I do CDR covers.
  11. I wonder if anyone has considered posting a thread on this board that compares MD vs iPod...
  12. Just in case anyone from this forum hasn't seen my extensive MD label-making thread at the T-Board: Show off your MD label artwork Enjoy.
  13. The character for "Sony" in Japanese actually translates to: proprietary. Hence, their status.
  14. This may come as a shocker for those who bought playback only MD units
  15. End of story? Afraid not. It will only be a matter of time that the I"pud"s as you put it will increase in quality, size, less compression, etc. Or maybe there will be an Ipod PRO line... whatever.
  16. Anyone here that thinks Sony will continue MD in a few years is only deluding themselves. Do I have facts to support this? Not really, but the recent events discussed on these boards (MD dropped out of certain countries, less models being released, iPod big in Japan, etc., etc.) cannot be ignored. Personally I say 2007 would be the last year a hiMD pro model will be released. Limited HiMD disc sales may still be around for another 6-10 years.
  17. Amen. Hats off to Sony for perfecting their MD interface just before abandoning it.
  18. Though it looks REAL hot, can you see track TITLES at all, maybe in place of the dynamic sound peak meter? If it only displays a track NUMBER and a group NUMBER then this is a step BACKWARDS, in my opinion. The RH10 and DH10P displays rule.
  19. That was gone 2 seconds after I took the photo. That's a good idea; I'll try that... I just figure if the button is glitchy NOW, it's only gonna' get worse.
  20. 1) Color matters to ME. LOOK at just how beautiful a my black NH900 is: 2) I've thought about how I can still use it, but it can't be used as a "player" since it won't STOP when I want it to... it could be used as a permanent 'downloader' PC hook-up, but I'm already using my first NH900 (that I've dropped a few times) for that. Plus it would barely be visible, and I want to show off this pretty unit.
  21. I completely agree, but I went out on a limb since this was the only black NH900 left in the world apparently.
  22. Thanks bud, let me know... as you may recall I HATE remotes.
  23. I totally agree. I think their greatest ending was the DH10P. Truly the best thing around (that doesn't record, that is).
  24. So what exactly is the setting I'm asking for here, "daily email digest?" Basically I want ONE IMMEDIATE notification, but no repeats until I've READ the thread again.
  25. I just bought an NH900 and it has these problems, but I bought it 2nd hand... do I have any options of getting it repaired??? Like, WHERE? (please provide link or phone number) Thanks.
