If you have a tape deck in your car you can use a tape adapter. If you have a 1/8 inch jack line-in you could use a 1/8" to 1/8 stereo line cable. If you have RCA aux in on your deck you could use a stereo 1/8" to RCA phono jack cable. If you don't have any of those you could buy one of those FM transmitter things they sell for MP3 players.

I watched Nicholas Cage's "The Weatherman", what a contrast compared to Lord of War. It was not very good and somewhat dissapointing. You can't do it directly. You would probably need to burn whatever you download to a audio CD then import to sonic stage or use SB to burn to Hi-MD. I don't know about the whole South America issue.

I'll second the vote on a CMOY. Jay Polaski from the T-Board made mine and was very inexpensive on the price. I paid $45 IIRC. He will custom make them to your specs too. You could always record real time SP mode discs directly on your unit too. Of course, this is assuming it has a line in.

Personally, I would use some plastic polish instead. You can find all kinds that will work, at your local automotive parts store.

No, no, purely basing on numbers, MD is the dark side. Once you accept this fact you will learn to embrace it.

I use Hi-MD and Legacy MD. I have turned several friends and family members to the dark side.

I would get a MD cleaning disc but you can try the Q-tip trick. I would try blowing out any dust with a can of compressed air first. Then I would clean with denatured alcohol.

Pretty much any of the units with a radio had the radio on the remote and not on the unit.

I read an article a while back on the differences of recording digital optical VS. USB recordings. USB recordings were pushed as being superior because there was no jitter to compensate for as in optical digital recordings. I really doubt somebody could tell the difference in a blind A-B test.

That's odd. I wonder if this affects 1st gen Hi-MD also. I'll have to check mine when I get home.

IMHO the 40ELK is going to be the best remote you can get right now for recording and playback. It is far superior to the stick remotes. I have used the 11EL and 33EL along with a Pansonic and Aiwa remote for comparison.

I probably will not be an early adopter but I will eventually get one.

Hughes Network Systems ticks me off! I never even knew that the company existed until I received a bill from them for $679. They claim that I ordered satellite broadband from them in June 2005 and then that they were unable to charge my credit card after three consecutive payments. The last 4 of the credit card does not match anything I have and I know my credit is fine because I just ordered my credit report the beginning of this month. I have had cable broadband since 2003 or 04 and have no reason to go to a service that is three times slower and costs twice as much as what I am paying now. I am actually on the phone trying to get this fixed as I type. I am getting bounced around and its starting to get on my nerves.
