I have tried Thunderbird twice now. I forget that my PDA needs Outlook so I can sync my email and then I go back to Outlook again.

I clean about once every other day. Just cleaned this morning. I try not to make too much of a mess so cleaning is pretty easy.

Not everyone lives with us but they are family. My wife will occasionally barrow one of my MD players. My neice (she lives with us) has an MP3 CD player. My brother (lives in NC, USA) has my old Sharp MD-MT170 MD recorder and an MP3 CD player from the Sharper Image. My mom uses an N510.
-
My Sharp MD-MT170 had a 10mw output. My R900 5mw. It was not a big difference in volume but it was noticable. TBH 5mw is more than enough for me. Any louder and it is too much for me. I suggest getting some isolation style headphones and the lower output will not mean much. Using open buds or headphones just makes you want to boost the volume up and you could potentially damage your hearing.

This really depends on your computer. Some computers comply with the audio standards some don't. I cannot get track marks on my system when I record from the optical out on my Extigy. If I record from the optical out on my CD deck I have no problems. Try it and see what happens.
-
It might work. You would be recording real-time but the MD is compressing on the fly unless you are recording in PCM mode (Hi-MD only). I think you may have some termonology mixed up. IIRC I think the DirectTV optical out has SCMS enabled which means the MD will not record it. I might be wrong but I guess you can't lose anything by trying.

Wow Greg! You really cleaned house since the last time I saw your setup. Good job! Here is my very small office:

Sony MZ-RH710 DC Adapter Current Rating?
KrazyIvan replied to fatmuttony's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
I would get the higher rated one. Even if the unit uses less mA it will only draw what it needs. This said, I have a 1 amp universal unit that I use without any problems on my NHF800. IIRC Sony stock units range between 300 mA and 1 amp. -
What I don't understand is why Sony did not make all the new bit rates recently released available when Hi-MD first launched. Apparently they were there all along. Sure I can't record them directly on my NHF800 but I can transfer them via SS and they are playable without a firmware update. So the ability to play them had to be on my unit all along. I guess I can't complain though. What if everything is fake?
-
My weapon of choice is my NHF800. As A440 has stated already it can handle PCM recording. I don't do that to often because it really eats up battery power. I guess I could carry around a few AA rechargables but Hi-SP mode offers 256kbps which is pretty good quality and extends battery life quite a bit. The USB, faster than realtime uploads to PC are a real bonus I think.

What the heck????

Very true. My 2.6GB gmail account rarely get's over 10 megs full, if that much. I send some large files sometimes.
-
I'll second that. I do this all the time. I record SP discs on my JE330 deck from the optical out on my CD deck. After that, I pop the disc into my NHF800 and title with SS. Because the music is most likely in my SS library already, it is just a matter of copying and pasting the titles from my library to the disc.

I am currently using Goowy mail. www.goowy.com. 1GB inbox which is not bad. It uses a lot of widgets for everything lot's of eye candy if you are into that. I can send you an invite if you want but I think you can sign up without one IIRC.

Really? I went the other day and they were selling for $20. I am not sure on the part number though. I am going to have to go back and maybe have them pull the part number specifically. I need a couple right now.

Discovered a way to remaster my CDs
KrazyIvan replied to Sony_Fan's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
C'mon guys. I am just as much a tech junkie as anybody here. Sometimes we just make things to technical for our own good. Yes, I do agree that going the mp3 route is not the best option but if the guy likes the way it sounds, who are we to judge? Everybody has different listening preferences so although technically his method may not be the best, it works for him. Maybe he will discover that he does not like the way he is increasing the volume of his music and try something different. I guess what I am saying is that we should drop the whole "techier than thou" attitude. Can't you just tell the guy, "hey, that's great but maybe you would like to try it this way because it's better." instead of flat out calling somebody stupid. I mean this the best way possible and do not mean to offend. -
I was always under the impression the 600 did not have a remote port and the 600D did, that was until someone told me otherwise. So, the 600 has the port but no contacts inside?

If you like the way it sounds, I say go for it and enjoy your music. -
I am using my old Corsair 256mb x 2 modules on it now and it sure is fast.
-
Just bought a CMX1024-3200C2 1GB Corsair DDR400 memory module to go with the ASUS K8N-E motherboard/Sempron 64 3400+/500 watt ePower PSU I just got yesterday.

Most of TDK's cases for regular MD's do that too.
-
I have those jewel cases and they are no more sturdier than you standard CD jewel case. I think the slip cases are better.
-
Those are tuner remotes. The actual tuner is in the remote.
