ah yes didnt see that. the 1 GB disks. I have 2 un used 3-packs of them. Any one offer me £20 each disk ? lol ( when I bought them cost me i think £30 the lot )
-
well picked up another 30 discs yesterday. incl 5 stange TDK ones that are like letting water colours run on a white page. never seen them before. May be try and clear up the London minidisc supply lol
-
hmm £60 seems a lot. Maybe I sell the 2 I have which are unused but for testing
-
well I wonder how many original hd ipods are still working that started the rot. For me minidisc is about the right size of entertainment that I need to take around with me. Mine uses AA batteries so I dont have to worry about lithium battery ageing. Also gives me about 12 hrs from a full charge. On another matter do u remember the days when makers tried to get to 100 hrs from one charge? Any one here tell us what the latest and greatest can get to?
-
too expensive. I bought 2 new ones from Ebay (Argos clearout ) a few years ago for £50 each
-
the guy with the expensive RH for sale now down to £800 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=181163426081
-
yes not tough enough to use as a portable & also too unique and irreplaceable & now not made any more, for casual use. One of the reason I still bother with minidisc
-
well SileEeles its worth subscribing to your local freecycle group -maybe pick up some minidisc stuff for free. I did to day get 15 minidisc for free. http://www.freecycle.org/
-
Its worth subscribing to your local freebie network. In the Uk this will start you off - http://www.freecycle.org/ surprising amount of strange stuff that people try to get rid off. But it is also some times minidisc Today I got 15 mindiscs for free from some one just down the road from me. well it all helps!
-
not a lot. I bought one from Ebay in Uk for £30 I think - that was atleast 3 years ago. ANd bought 2 new ones from Argos cleanout same time for £44 each I think it was. I wont ever buy any portable device that dont use a standard battery like AA. I dont mind the lump either at back or at end. I rather like the thick metal bodied Sharp MT88/99 I have a few - they feel really well made and made to last. May be i get buried with one for something to listen to and give the archaeologists something to puzzle over lol
-
well otherwise u get some kind of battery lump like on the Sharp MD-MT88 http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sharp_MD-MT88+MT99.html The only thing I dislike about these is the tiny and recessed display.
-
Ebay? I just looked and showed up ( atleast for UK ) At the end of the day you may have to put up with a ( inferior ) compatable battery but at least at a cheaper price

Sony Jukebox HAR-LH500 HDD Recorder/CD Player
freddyjollo replied to freddyjollo's topic in Classifieds
wow went for £120 + £10 postage. far too much for a white elephant -
hmm AA Lithium ? never heard of them. will have to try some. Apart. from my MZ-RH1 all my HiMD portables use AA. Would never buy anything that dont ( MZ-NH600 - uk model which has optical in. good enough)
-
another deal is this one - more realistic? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sony-Hi-MD-Walkman-MZ-RH1/161034487774?_trksid=p5197.m1997&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D16%26meid%3D8353539054829693111%26pid%3D100016%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D181157481781%26

ah the same guy with this one earlier in the thread - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sony-Walkman-MZ-RH1-Personal-MiniDisc-Player-/181136514915?pt=UK_CE_Portable_Audio_Portable_CD_Players_ET&hash=item2a2c93df63 has reduced the price ---- wait for it ----- by £60 from £860. still wants £10 postage. Thats what's probably putting people off hehe By my reckoning he maybe come down to a good price in maybe a year

Sony Jukebox HAR-LH500 HDD Recorder/CD Player
freddyjollo replied to freddyjollo's topic in Classifieds
dont think so - has no ethernet socket nor network support.. no way to get files on or off other than thru the optical socket. Just a way of storing lots of music cds. The Mcrew software is only used to control the device and add tites thru the gracenote online site. a real white elephant these days as is reflected in the low interest in it ( so far) -
Another piece of Sony Atrac history that never really made it? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sony-Jukebox-HAR-LH500-HDD-Recorder-CD-Player/221237854562?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D8311415509999090600%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D221237854562%26 Shame that SonicStage could never connect to it. Could have been a useful HD minidsc?

seems like not only the MZ-RH1 brings out the screw-as-much-money-out-of-the-punter brigade http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SONY-JA555ES-Legendary-High-End-Mini-disc-Player-in-PERFECT-condition/171037090129?_trksid=p5197.m1998&_trkparms=aid%3D555001%26algo%3DPW.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D18%26meid%3D8113176079261023681%26pid%3D100017%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D190847046919%26 only £1000......

Not sure if I would buy them on ebay - may be fakes? what is this about Sure? I always used Sony MDR-ED21 but they are now discontinued. I am on my last pair. I see there is some thing similar in looks to them MDR-12 which dont cost much. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-MDR-ED12LP-Fashionable-In-ear-headphones/dp/B00165YWNO/ref=pd_sim_sbs_ce_3 These have the ear insert that makes for better volume and evener tone that the old mdr 21 have. if u want a over ear type that is v good you could try the Sennheiser PX-100 eg http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-100-II-Foldable-Open-Headphone/dp/B002VPDOH8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1370104720&sr=1-1&keywords=PX+100-II http://www.johnlewis.com/sennheiser-px100-ii-on-ear-headphones-black/p231003674 http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/audio/headphones/headphones/on-ear-headphones/sennheiser-px-100-ii-headphones-black-04820883-pdt.html I have the earlier version and mini disc drives them well & loud. Very nice sound. They are collapsable with adjustable headband and mine came in a nice eye glass shape case, now a pouch. The are very light and dont give you headaches due to excessive pressure. Also you dont look a real twat wearing these in public unlike those ppl who wear the fullsze things not cheap anymore from many places
