Yeah, I use CDex, you can update the lame_enc.dll in the installation directory of CDex before you use it!

Yeah, agreed. It would just be cheaper to buy a 4gig (or 8gig) card than it would be to buy another psp too, so people wouldn't upgrade, they would spend the money on a more reliable memory card. As opposed to a less-reliable hard drive.

If sony made atrac a open format (like aac and mp3) I think it would take off, it is high compression format. There isn't that many formats that sould good at 64kbps. As far as I know its just he-aac ogg and atrac, I haven't come across any others, if there are more, please tell!

In my mind, atrac is dead. I am using vorbis (as a standard) now anyway (on my iAudio U2) If I ever did make the jump to a iPod I would be putting rock box on it in no time, I wouldn't even question that unless apple suddenly decide to add vorbis to be played back on the iPod! I still use Atrac (my MZ-NH1) that I don't plan on getting rid of anytime soon.

I've tired it with my iAudio U2, it works, not very well though. It crashed a few time. Until Sony add drag & drop to there players, it won't work, sorry.

I think the problems mentioned on this page are because of fake memory sticks. In that case then you are stuck with mp3 and wma.

lol, there are a limitation of flash games that will work on the psp anyway lol. I'll look into digging some more flash-based games and testing them. And congratulations on enabling flash, did you do wma while you were doing that? I'm going to try and find out how Sony makes demos download directly to the psp and try and get some demos to download directly onto the psp. lol The only non-official demo download sites don't download direct to the psp game folder. Its going to be interesting to see If I can find it out. If anyone knows please tell, it will save time! Edit: Nevermind I've figured out how to!

A fast way to determine if its fake, without opening it. Requires a psp. 1, put it in your psp, 2, go to the game selection tab thing 3, highlight the "memory stick" and click "triangle" 4, click "information" 5, if by "MagicGate" is says unknown its fake. (and it should to support magicgate) Well it works with me, can some other people with fakes check and some people with real ones check.

I just had a thought, I could hunt down some dhtml or javascript games for the next update that should work on the psp without flash. What do you think?

Oh, yeah Is there a HDD player coming out, or is this speculation or wish full thinking?

The battery life is 64kbps atrac3plus. And I have always found the sony times to be pretty accurate.

Sony psp firmware 3.01 realeased. Sony must have screwed up bigtime, realesing a security patch so soon.

I've heard sucsess storys about people downgrading and actually running homebrew on firmware 1.50. with a TA-082. I dunno how many failed attempts that would mean! w00t, those visualizations are neat! Just wonder if Sony would be kind enough to give us a infra red remote sometime and some other things to actually use that infra red port on the psp that never has been used! would be nice.
